37 Unexpected Guest

Part 37 Unexpected Guest

Arnav tied the mangal sutra on Khushi's neck, making people around them emotional. No need to say, Khushi was more emotional than any one among them. She met his eyes when he tied it but she could not get a clear view of his face due to tears. She blinked her eyes and let the tears roll down. Arnav wiped her cheek with his thumbs. Sagar became a blessed child who witnessed his parents' wedding. He smiled with teary eyes. Rushing to his father, he hugged Arnav. Arnav reciprocated him with the same zeal.

Khushi clutched Arnav's hand and gestured to him something. then she touched his parent's feet to take their blessings that they could not get twenty years ago. Arnav also joined her.

"Live the life that you missed in the past" His father blessed them whereas his mother could say nothing as she was unable to...

She rushed to the kitchen and came with sugar. She put it in their mouths to celebrate the sweet moment.

"Can't you be with us at least for today?" she pleaded.

Khushi looked at Arnav because he already gave the answer to the same question.

"That's ok, Mom. We will come another day. Sagar has to go to the college tomorrow"

"Can't you go to the college from here, getting ready a little earlier?" his mother asked Sagar.

Sagar looked at Arnav as he didn't know why Arnav was not interested to stay there. But Khushi took lead.

"Sagar will go to the college from here tomorrow morning," she said looking at Arnav.

Arnav smiled at her softly. That was when Sagar understood that he was concerned about Khushi's comfort.

"Ok, then, I'm taking your leave. Come to my home if you guys have time tomorrow morning. I won't trouble you a lot... just have coffee and you can leave" NK invited them to his house.

"We will come, uncle," Sagar said.

"It seems, Sagar has no idea to go to the college tomorrow" NK laughed.

"Not like that uncle, just curious to hear the old stories about my Dad from my grandparents and his friends"

"There are a lot of stories to say... you don't have any idea how arrogant your father is" his father laughed.

"Really? Sagar, you could never see such an adamant parent in your life. they know all the way to irritate their children" Arnav said.

Sagar looked at them, like, REALLY?

"We just asked him to get married. That's what he is talking about"

Sagar smiled.

"Sagar, in order to listen to the old stories, doesn't disturb them a lot," Khushi said.

"No no beta... there is nothing called disturbance. What will we do tomorrow after you leave? We will take rest if needed" Arnav's father said.

Arnav took Khushi to his room whereas Sagar started talking with his grandparents. They were so impressed as no grandchildren of them ever talked to them like Sagar did. His politeness and respect attracted them more. they could not believe such a boy could be existing in this generation. They liked Sagar very much. He was so curious to know about his father's childhood. He asked many questions about Arnav, his schooling, his friends, everything. Neither Arnav's parents felt like sleeping nor did they feel bored. Finally, they slept at the midnight and could not hold themselves.

In the meanwhile,

Khushi was looking at Arnav mesmerizingly who was showing his albums and explaining about the photos. It was clear that he would have done that many times in his imagination.

"You would have thought of sharing this with me many times, right?"

"I would like to share EVERYTHING with you...including my LIFE" he looked at her intensively.

"Me too..." came from Khushi instantly.

"After I started loving you, I so wanted to bring you to my room. The dream became true today"

"Why didn't you want us to stay here?"

"I thought about your comfort. You may not like to stay here."

"Why did you think so?"

"I had no idea how they treat you. That's why"

"Did they scold me ever before?"

"No... they didn't scold you but me... they were angry with me like hell as I was not ready to get married"

"Being your parents, it's obvious if they had asked you to get married. Every parent does..."

"I know. But I was unable to trust them as I was not so clear about their stand in your matter"

Khushi nodded yes.

"Don't know what your son is doing with them"

"They would have been awe-struck by his approach" Arnav chuckled.

"Would they like him?"

"Who won't like him? He is a gem" Arnav said proudly.

"Let me check what he is doing"

"No need... let him do whatever he wants" he lay on the bed.

Khushi stood, keeping her hands on her hip.

"Whaaat?"

"Where would I lay?" She asked

He tapped his chest smirking. Khushi rolled her eyes.

"Don't think this is a single cot. It's my dream to sleep with you on this bed" he pulled her towards him.

"You sleep on the wall side"

"I will push you down in my sleep," she said controlling her laughter.

"Who is going to let your hands be free?" he circled her in his arms.

Khushi settled her head on his chest. Now, the single cot looked so specious due to their closeness.

The next morning

Sagar woke up earlier and got ready because he didn't want his grandparents to know Arnav lied. He knocked on Arnav's door. Arnav and Khushi got disturbed from their sleep.

"Dad, I'm getting late to my college," he said while knocking on the door.

"He is maintaining your lie" Khushi chuckled.

Arnav rolled his eyes and opened the door.

"Good morning Dad"

"Good morning, my son"

"Get ready Dad, we have to go"

"Yeah... give us a few minutes. Khushi, you go and get fresh first" Arnav said and Khushi went to the washroom.

Arnav's mother served them a tasty breakfast. She asked Sagar about his favorite food. Our boy said everything is his favorite. So, she cooked Arnav's favorite food.

After having breakfast, they were ready to leave. they heard a calling bell sound. Arnav's father was supposed to go to open the door,

"You wait, Dada, I will see" Sagar rushed to open the door.

He opened the door and stepped aside, letting them see the person who rang the bell. All of them looked at one another as if they didn't know who was he.

"May I know who are you?" Arnav asked.

The man was looking at Khushi.

"Can't you recognize me, Khushi?" he asked.

Khushi's eyes widened as she recognized who he was.

"Trimurti?" she asked in a feeble tone.

Arnav looked at him shockingly as Trimurti was the most hated person by him from Khushi's family after her father. He switched his gaze to Khushi who nodded yes without any expression on her face.

"I saw you talking with someone last evening. I told Mom and Dad about you. they want to see you and asked me to bring home"

"Why? Do you have anything remaining to ruin our lives?" Khushi asked heated up.

"Khushi, we thought you eloped with him. That's why we were angry with you but not now"

"I don't care even though you guys are still angry with me"

"Khushi, please come home and meet them once"

"I don't want to meet any of you who didn't care about my life. why would they want to meet me now? Please leave..."

"Khushi..." Arnav called her.

Khushi looked at him.

"We will meet your parents"

"Whaaat?"

"Yeah... we will meet them once"

"But, Arnav"

"I'm with you. You are not that old MINOR Khushi and I'm not that old HELPLESS Arnav." He said looking at Trimurti who bowed down.

"We are leaving. I will call you later" Arnav said.

His parents nodded ok. Arnav walked with Khushi and Sagar. Trimurti followed them.
