30 Defeated Fate

Part 30 Defeated Fate...

The hall looked so emotional and sensational. Arnav pulled Khushi from the hug and wiped her cheek.

"Enough of crying," he said choking.

He saw Sagar admiring them with smiling teary eyes. Arnav rushed to him and lifted him from the ground happily. Khushi felt like, everything was a dream. Arnav put him down. In no time, Sagar hugged him.

"Love you Dad"

"I love you too, my dear son"

Madhav who came there thunderstruck saw the scene. He came to them with bewilderment.

"Dad and Son?" he asked.

Arnav circled Sagar's shoulders and smiled.

"Yes, your Major is none other than my Dad," Sagar said.

"But, you behaved like a stranger to him?" Madhav asked unbelievably.

"We thought he is married to someone. Somewhat, you are the reason for it" Sagar said teasingly.

"Me? what did I do?" Madhav asked shockingly.

"You talked about Major but you never talked about Aman's uncle..." Sagar said.

"Means?"

"You should have told me that Aman's uncle is Sanju's father..."

Madhav got stuck.

"God... that means did you think he is..."

Cutting him,

"Exactly..."

"But, you(stressing) always talked about your father..."

"I talked about what my mom said about my father"

People started gossiping about Arnav and Khushi. Arnav noticed it.

"Khushi is my wife and Sagar is my son. Our parents separated us after our marriage. We just got reunited after twenty years" Arnav cleared it.

"My God... I can't believe you are Major's son" Madhav hugged Sagar delightedly, making him smile.

"Even I could not believe it when I got to know that" Sagar smiled.

"I need a treat" Madhav demanded.

"Sure... what about dinner with a movie?" Sagar asked Madhav which made Khushi wonder.

That was the first time, Sagar made a decision without consulting Khushi. He had always sought her permission before doing anything and Madhav also knew that. Sagar never preferred night shows no matter how he compelled him. He also wondered.

"Are you sure? Are you going to come with me for a movie that night show?" Disbelief was written on his face.

"Yeah..." Sagar said looking at Khushi with a smile.

"I hope I'm not dreaming... is Sagar making a decision without his mother's permission?" Madhav looked at Khushi who was also in the same state.

"Because I have my father's support now. He will handle my mother" Sagar said and Khushi dropped her jaw.

Arnav laughed, giving a side hug to Sagar.

"Oh, really?" Khushi asked.

"Dad, Mom never allowed me to watch movies with my friends"

"Is it Khushi?"

"He can go to the movie in the day time. Why night show?"

"Just for fun aunty," Madhav said.

"Please, Mom..." Sagar pleaded.

Arnav smiled at Khushi who rolled her eyes.

"Let him go, Khushi"

"Thank you, Dad..."

"Permit him, Khushi. or else, he will think you are not respecting me," Arnav said teasingly.

"Aunty, don't make Major feel sad on the first day of your reunion," Madhav said.

"Say yes, Mom"

"Don't you want to be with your Dad?" Khushi asked a valuable question as she knew how much Sagar wanted to spend time with his father.

"Aunty, Sagar is going to be with Major for his whole life... this is our day and the cinema is in the next lane only," Madhav said.

"Ok, ok... be careful... ok?"

"Thank you Mom" Sagar hugged Khushi.

"Have dinner and go guys," Kalpana said.

"No aunty, we will have dinner in the mall itself... what says Madhav?" Sagar said.

"Someone pinch me... I can't believe this is not a dream" Madhav said.

Preethi hugged Khushi happily.

"Thank God, everything had fallen into the right place"

"Thank you so much, aunty. Because of you, I got the courage, to tell the truth to Dad. Whatever you told Mom is right. That's what made me break all the obstacles between me and my Dad" Sagar said.

"I'm glad my entry changed your life. You are a very good boy who wants his mother's happiness" Preethi tapped his cheek.

People in the wedding venue wished Arnav and Khushi a happy future.

"I'm so glad that Arnav got his life back." Nisha gave a warm hug to Khushi.

Khushi smiled cheerfully.

"You know, Aman restricted me to talk to Arnav about his wedding"

"Is it?" Khushi smiled.

"Yeah... Arnav gets angry if anyone asks him to get married. He stopped talking with many of his friends who did that. Aman doesn't want to lose his friendship. That's why he warned me not to insist he to get married"

Khushi smiled at Arnav proudly.

"Where is Sanju?" Arnav asked.

"He is with my mother. You concentrate on your family. Aman is coming tomorrow. He will look after Sanju" Nisha chuckled.

"Aunty, don't tell Aman uncle anything until he comes here," Madhav said.

"Why?"

"Let it be a surprise for him... what say, Major?"

"Yeah... it will be fun" Arnav laughed.

"Are you guys planning to give a heart attack to my husband?" Nisha asked.

"Kind of..." Madhav said.

"Mom, we are leaving," Sagar said.

Taking his purse out of his pant pocket, Arnav removed money and gave it to Sagar.

"Take it..."

Without any second thought, Sagar took it from Arnav surprised Khushi.

"Thank you, Dad"

"Enjoy"

"Bye Dad"

"Call me when the movie gets over," Arnav said.

"You just go to sleep Dad. Please don't wait for me. I will sleep with Madhav" Sagar walked out with Madhav.

"Do you think they will sleep tonight?" Madhav asked.

"Definitely not..."

"Then you asked them to sleep?"

"Then, being a son, what else could I say? I should talk like a good son, right?"

"I have a doubt"

"What?"

"What if we don't get tickets for the movie?"

"We will silently go to your room and sleep"

"But why?"

"It's twenty years... They just got united after a long struggle. There is much more for them to share. I don't want to disturb them. They will hesitate to talk if I'm with them"

"Oh... this is why you readily agreed to the treat?"

"What do you think? Do I prefer to watch movies rather than be with my father?"

"You are unbelievable..."

"Let's go"

Madhav started the bike.

.........

Arnav and Khushi had dinner together. It was Nisha who served them food gladly. Neither Arnav nor Khushi was on the earth. They felt like they were floating in space. Just a few minutes ago, they thought they were strangers. Within a few minutes, everything changed and fate provided them with everything that they lost in the past. It was nothing but a miracle. Though they were not lucky to be with one another they were not ready to think about the bitter days of their life.

"Let's go," Arnav said after washing his hands.

Khushi looked at her surroundings hesitatingly.

"What?" Arnav chuckled.

She nodded no.

"Don't hesitate, Khushi" Nisha said before Arnav said anything.

Arnav nodded yes.

"You guys have already lost twenty years... don't think anything rather than Arnav," she said.

Khushi nodded yes and walked.

"Sagar never preferred watching movies..." Khushi said.

"I think he gave us space" Arnav smiled.

"Do you think so?"

"Yeah... I have never seen such an understanding boy in my life. He should have thought not to disturb us"

"Sometimes, he behaves like a big guy." Khushi sighed.

"He is indeed a big guy... studying in Engineering college" Arnav smiled.

They came to the room that had been allocated for Khushi and Sagar.

"I will come changing," Khushi said and was about to take her dress from the bag, Arnav clutched her hand.

"No need... you look stunning in a saree" he pulled her towards him.

She leaned on his chest closing her eyes. Arnav circled her in his arms.

"Are you going to be like this for a whole night?" Arnav looked at her face bending down.

Khushi chuckled softly.

"Our son gave us chance to spend together..."

"So?"

"Nothing... just want to share many things with you"

"How are your parents?"

"Dad said mom is not feeling well..."

"What happened to her?"

"Don't know"

"What do you mean don't know?"

"It's their tactics to bring me home"

"Are not you going home to meet them?"

Arnav nodded no.

"Why?"

"They will torture me to get married"

"So?"

"So, I don't like to go home," he said firmly.

Khushi sighed.

"Leave them... tell me about you" he took her palm in his hand.

"Me?"

"Didn't any man cross your path?"

"What does that mean?"

"In these twenty years, didn't you ever like anyone?"

"I never liked anyone because there is no one like you. I had Sagar to concentrate on. So, I didn't like to even think of anyone"

"Are not we odd?" Arnav chuckled.

"Absolutely" Khushi smiled.

Arnav kissed her forehead. Khushi closed her eyes, feeling ecstatic. She leaned on his chest, circling his waist. Arnav embarrassed her in his arms. No doubt that was the most heavenly moment of their life. There was nothing in their mind but only blissfulness.

They could not hold themselves from recalling their old memories. those memories took them to the old days. that led them to share a kiss. after that, there was no reason for them to stop themselves from sharing much more between them. After twenty years, they shared themselves once again. No doubt, it was the most beautiful reunion.

They smiled at each other. Fate tried to win over them by separating them. But, being the same, they won the damn fate. There was no change in their minds... feelings... emotions... approaches... senses... everything was as same as how they were twenty years ago.

The next morning

Aman entered the vicinity, looking for not Nisha but for Arnav. How could he be peaceful after knowing Khushi's presence near Arnav? Madhav saw Aman from his room.

"Sagar... Aman uncle is here... come fast" he rushed out while dialing Arnav.

Arnav received the call.

"Major, open the door... quick"

Arnav frowned and opened the door. Aman saw Arnav and smiled at him.

"Hi, Arnav..."

"Hi..."

Aman hugged Arnav and his breath ditched, seeing Khushi sleeping in the same room.
