10 Sweet Nothings

Part 10 Sweet Nothings

Arnav and Khushi were ready for the wedding. Even though Khushi didn't care about the blouse it fitted her so beautifully. She looked lovely in the simple saree. With very few friends, they got married. Arnav tied the mangal sutra on her neck and filled her partition with vermillion. Khushi became Mrs. Arnav RITUALLY.

We can't say she didn't remember her parents. She did. She just remembered... but did not miss them. Aman and Bosco wished them HAPPY MARRIED LIFE. Khushi was smiling all the time as if she achieved something big... maybe, she was right... since she landed in the hands of a lovable person. Her eloping sequence had ended at Arnav. He was her destiny after all...

"Ok, Arnav... I'm leaving" Aman said.

"But why?"

"Khushi's father will suspect us if I'm not in Delhi. Before they started searching for me, I have to go to Delhi"

"Diverting them is important. Khushi, write a letter to your father. We will drop it in the post box of some other village. They will see the seal of the post office and will think you guys are staying in that village. They will never get to know you are in Ghaziabad"

Khushi nodded ok and wrote a letter.

Dad,

I have chosen a life that gives me happiness. Please don't search for me. Let me live my life peacefully. Hope you understood.

Khushi.

Khushi wrote the letter formally as it was only to divert her father. She handed it to Aman. He took it from her and kept it in his pocket. Giving a formal hug to Arnav, Aman took their leave. Bosco stayed with Arnav. He was not ready to leave him in the new place alone. He decided to help him to find a job.

Khushi noticed Bosco and Bosco's sister were discussing something with Arnav. She called him. Arnav came to her.

"What's happening here? What are they discussing?"

"Actually... they are planning for our..."

"Our?"

"First night," he said hesitatingly.

Khushi got stuck for a few seconds. She gulped down. She felt her body shivering.

"Did you talk about it to them?" She asked looking somewhere.

"No... I didn't... they are arranging it by themselves. They are feeling it will be a kind of security for us" Arnav said helplessly.

"What kind of security?"

"They feel your father won't separate us if we take our relationship to the next level"

Khushi was silent. She didn't know the complete scenario of the first night. After all, she was an 80's kid. She had only MOVIE (ordinary movie) knowledge.

Khushi left the place and said nothing.

Night

Nancy's house was a typical village house with only one room. she sent her kids to her relative's house.

Arnav and Khushi were sent to a small room in Nancy's house. Khushi felt nervous for the first time being with Arnav. She could bravely elope from her house but this... this is something that tickled her sense. Both were sitting on the bed silently. It was too awkward to face the first night... damn it...

There was enough gap between them. Getting a little courage, Arnav moved a little towards her, raising her awkwardness high. She felt a lack of breath. She too moved away from him. She took two more moves. Arnav smiled. She was sitting at the edge of the bed and there was no space for her to move further.

"Finally..." he uttered the first word of the first night.

She looked at the bed edge and then at him, making herself up.

"We got married..." he smiled.

She nodded yes.

"We became husband and wife..." he said as if she was unaware of it.

She again nodded yes... this time with a smile. Arnav extended his hand toward her just like he did the previous day. But Khushi could not clutch it like she did the previous day. There was a hesitation in her action because she knew the difference. She kept her hand on his.

"Won't you come close to me?"

She bit her lip feeling difficult to answer the question. Without thinking, he came closer to her.

"You will fall down if you move again..." he said in a husky tone.

She sensed it so new. His voice sounded intoxicated. She was sure his voice never sounded like that before.

"Are you scared?" the same husky tone.

She nodded no.

"Then why don't you look at me?"

He saw her taking a deep breath.

"Are you nervous?"

She nodded yes.

"Ok... relax... I'm going out..." he stood.

She clutched his hand swiftly, getting horrified. He smiled tilting his head, making her blush. He sat on the bed again. this time close to her... without giving an inch gap between them. He lifted her face, holding her chin, and pressed his lips on her forehead. She closed her eyes to relish the ecstatic moment. Her hands automatically clutched his shirt. The hesitation, nervousness, fear everything fled away from them little by little. The love they had for each other started overwhelming them. It suppressed all the other feelings that tried to overpower them. The smell of Arnav made Khushi dizzy. It felt different. That was something that attracted her like anything.

They lost themselves in their physical and internal love. They felt fulfilled with their heart-filled marriage. They were looking at each other without uttering a single word. They had no words... in fact, words are not needed when hearts speak. The universally known heart doesn't need language or words. It understands the depth of eyes... senses the gravity of its loved ones.

They smiled at each other.

"I don't know what to say..." Arnav said in between smiles.

Khushi was about to say something, but she stopped, hearing a song.

"Kuch na kaho... kuch bi na kaho..."

They looked at each other and chuckled. They became silent and listened to the song that matched the situation.

{Don't say anything... nothing at all...

What do you want to say, what do I want to listen to...

I know it and you know it

This moment of time has paused

And there is no one else in this moment of time

It's just me and it's just you}

They were silent but their eyes were not. The meaning of the lines penetrated deep into their heart and their eyes started speaking now. Taking her hand, he kissed her knuckle. He gathered her in his arms, close to his heart.

"I can't believe we are together... I'm with you..."

Cutting her,

"Becoming mine..." he smiled.

"I don't want anything other than you... that's enough for me"

"No... it's not enough for me. I want to live my life with you completely. You should be happier with me than with your parents. I don't want you to even miss your parents... especially in my presence"

"I won't say I won't but I can surely say I will not even think of them in your presence forget about missing them..."

"Why?"

"I'm happy now... I want to be happy with you. So, I don't want to talk about them"

She snuggled in his chest.

"Aru..."

"Mmm?"

"How do you know all this thing means?"

Arnav controlled his smile as he understood what she was asking.

"These things mean?" he asked as if he didn't get her.

"Things related to first night..."

"I attended special classes and finished my diploma in it," he said teasingly.

She looked at him jerking. Arnav laughed at her expression. She again cuddled him with a smile.

They didn't sleep the whole night. They could not... they passed the night, speaking sweet nothings...

To be continued...
