Chapter 1

"Wake up Phoenix, You're going to be late to the station!" My mom yelled from the downstair. I roll over on to my back with my eyes still shut but I can see the light through my eyelids. At least it was a sunny day today. Didn't get much of those days.

I get out of my very comfortable bed and bend down to touch my toes to get a good stretch. As a reach for the sky I had a quick flashback from the summer. This summer was different from the last. As I was remembering everything from the summer, my face was forming the biggest smile that I had no control over. I was sad that it was over but I know that what happened after three months of not being in school was going to be three months that I would never forget.

I grab a t-shirt with some jeans and I head into the shower. The cold water flowing from the shower head as I feel for it to get warm. After a 15 minute shower I rush downstairs to get some last minute breakfast. "Come on Phoenix you have been doing this for the past three years and every year you are always last minute. When are you going to learn to prioritize better?" My mom says to me as I make myself some toast.

"You say this every time mom, but do you forget to notice that I never miss the train for the past three years I would say I am prioritizing pretty well if you ask me. Speaking about almost being late we better get going the train leaves in twenty minutes and who knows how busy it is going to be." I rush to grab my suit case and of course my owl Stormi. We rush into the car and we head off to Kings Cross Station.

As soon as we get to the station there are people rushing and yelling about how they are going to be late for their trains. I look around and I notice everyones faces as they have a look of fear running to the trains that are in every direction. I give a little laugh to myself. Next thing I know I see myself standing in front of the wall of platforms 9 3/4. I give my mom a hug bye and I take a deep breath as I give myself a running start and I run straight into the wall. The feeling of anxiety that I get that it might one day not let me through anymore but as usual it does. I look at everyone in their school uniforms getting ready to head onto the train. A bunch of first years crowded together a look of excitement and nervousness. It made me remember my first time being transferred to Hogwarts

When I got my letter I was confused on what it was. I have never heard of Hogwarts let alone thought wizards and witches were real. My mom had a look of happiness on her faces as she grabs the letter out of my hand to make sure she was reading it right. She sat me down and told me everything about Hogwarts. I always wondered why she moved to the United States and why she had kept this hidden from me for so long. She never told me why, and I never thought of questioning it.

I rush onto the train trying to find Hermione, Harry, and Ron. Looking in compartment from compartment. I finally get a look at the top of a red head and automatically knew that it was a Weasley. I open it to find Fred and George joking around with there new candies that they have invented over the summer. I took a glimpse of them as they held them in their hands. "Why hello Phoenix." I look up to see that Fred is holding out a piece of candy for me to try. As I already know that the candy won't help me in anyway I look at him and give a smile.

"Oh come on Fred, you honestly think that I would eat that? As if I didn't spend the majority of the summer with you guys." I say while looking outside the compartment. "You guys haven't by chanced seen Harry have you?"

Fred puts the candy back in his pocket and nods his head no. I look at George hoping that he might have seen them. As I look into his green eyes my belly fills up with butterflies. I had almost forgotten that me and George had connected over the summer.

"Earth to Phoenix." Fred waves his hand in front of my face. "They just walked past the compartment. Or are you going to stand here and keep staring at George some more?" He laughs and nudges me.

"Shove off Fred, you're just mad that George might be better looking than you." I say giving a playful smile. I didn't know how long me and George were staring at each other but it felt as if time had stopped. "Well see you guys later."

"Phoenix don't forget that there is a party in the common room tonight so don't try to sneak off or anything. It is the first day of the school year and you are not going to spend it in your room reading okay?" George says to me as I have my back turned.

"Yeah okay I'll think about it." I walk out and start heading down the direction that I hope Harry, Ron, and Hermione went.

I finally found them and sat next to Ron. "You guys going to the party tonight?"

"Well of course, it is going to be the best party out of the whole year I wouldn't miss it for anything. I just hope that the Slytherins don't find out about this one after last year causing Gryffindor to almost loose the house cup because they can't mind their own business." Ron says with a look of disgust on his face.
