45. The Cuba Trip.

***Veer's POV.***

I have come prepared for the upcoming battle. There are flowers, and chocolates, and sorry cards, and a new bracelet and I have my all time. Piya may be angry, but I will do everything in my power for her to forget that anger and enjoy this trip with me.

Because this island is for us, to make memories, loads and loads of them.

I see Piya coming out of the airport in a beautiful black and white polka dot cami dress. When she looks around, I wave to get her attention. She doesn't look like she is angry with the way she is smiling, but how would I have known it was going to be part of a big plan?

"How are you, my love?" Piya asks and kisses my cheek when I go to kiss her.

"I am fine. Are you still angry with me?" I ask.

"No. My anger subsided the day when we cleared our misunderstanding and realized that next time it would be better if we didn't plan any surprises, especially one involving traveling." She says.

"Yeah! I mean I didn't get angry." I say and bite my tongue when she looks at me suddenly, "What I meant is that it was my fault that I didn't tell you about our plans. But I thought you were busy and-"

"No need to rehash those stuff anymore. Let's go. I am exhausted and want some sleep." She says.

"Sure." I say, "But this is for you."

Her eyes soften when I give her red roses and lilies, but then she looks determined and says, "Thank you. Shall we go now?"

"Yeah!" I say and take her bags.

"Oh-ho ho ho! That looks sweet." Piya says when she sees the car I bought, which is a vintage black convertible.

"Do you like it?" I ask.

"I wanna drive it." She says in excitement, and I chuckle.

"Here." I say and throw the keys towards her and she catches it.

Even though Piya looks to be excited and happy, I can see her underlying anger clearly. The only thing I can do for now is to just bear with it because she loves me more than her anger and in a few hours she would be enjoying our little vacation wholeheartedly.

"The room looks nice and the view..." Piya says as she goes to the balcony, "Perfect."

"I am glad you liked the arrangement." I say and join her on the balcony.

I wrap my arms around her from behind and she starts to melt but goes still and pulls away by saying, "I need to shower."

"Sure." I say and she goes back in the room, but I couldn't hold back and ask, "Are you still angry with me?"

"This is the second time you asked me. No, I am not." She says not looking at me.

"Okay. Let me rephrase the question. Are you angry at me because you love me and have missed me?" I ask with a smile.

She looks at me, then looks away and says, "I missed you."

"So have I. Terribly." I say.

"And yet you haven't kissed me." She says.

"I am not the type to force physical stuff. If you turn away from my kiss, I will not take that clear sign of no as a yes." I say.

"Why? I am your fiancee." She says, "You have the right over me."

"I do, but only when it comes to supporting you, cherishing you, and loving you. When it comes to physical things, I believe in clear consent which, if not given, should not be taken." I say.

"Wow! I knew you were an honorable man, but not this much." She says, looking me in the eye.

"What do you want, Piya? To have us spend these days reminiscing about how we stayed away from each other for four months in somewhat sweet misery and little pleasant moments... or do you want us to make up for all the lost time?" I ask.

She sighs heavily, then looks to be thinking, then says, "I like the latter option more. So... would you like a shower?"

"Sure. Why don't you take one, then I will have one?" I ask, tucking her hair behind her ear.

"Oh god! Stop doing that, Veer. Don't tell me you get a kick out of making me say things I want you to do to me?" She asks.

I chuckle as I answer, "I love it."

"I knew it." She says, grabbing my collar and pulls me down for the kiss.

I groaned at the taste of her, as I missed her so much. Her absence was a pain for sure. Listening to her voice, I felt alive enough. It kept me going. But that doesn't mean I didn't miss her touch and her kisses. Damn, only I knew how I kept myself from going after her in Paris. This trip was a way for us to fill that void which was created in these four months.

"What shall I order?" I ask Piya who is still in bed.

"I don't want to eat." She groans and goes deeper in the sheets.

"Come on, Piyu. You need to eat." I say.

She peeks out and says, "I don't feel well enough to eat any meat, but I would like some toast."

"Would you like some egg toast then?" I ask.

"That would be nice." She says.

"What about pudding?" I ask.

"That would do too." She says.

"Thank you. Now I will wake you up when it is here." I say and kiss her forehead.

"Thank you. Ahh! I am telling you I am never taking four flights in two days ever again." She says.

"I will keep that in mind." I say.

"Good." She says.

I order some breakfast for us and ask them to add in some fruit juice rather than coffee. Yesterday, Piya and I spent the day together as she was tired and wanted me all to herself and I wanted the same too. She ate nothing for dinner as she was feeling low, so I didn't push her much except to give her some milk.

"Where are we going today?" She shouts the question as I fill the bathtub for her.

I come out and say, "Are you feeling okay enough to go out?"

"Yes. And it would do me good. The weather is nice and I have a hot boyfriend to show off." She says.

"Fiance." I say.

"No, you are a boyfriend here." She says.

"Why?" I ask.

"Sounds more hot." She says with a smirk.

"Does fiance not sound hot?" I ask as I walk towards her.

"How would I know? I didn't spend any time with him." She says with a coy smile.

"Wow! Did you forget last night?" I ask with a frown.

"Yes. Remind me again." She says with a giggle and throws the pillow at me.

I catch it just in time and say, "With pleasure, my lady."

**********

"That looks dangerous." Piya says as we look down the cliff.

"But it isn't. See, they are jumping together." I say, pointing at another couple who jump down the cliff and into the sea.

"Her top came off." She says.

"We are leaving." I say and she laughs as we go down.

"But we agreed on swimming in the sea." She says.

"We can do that." I say and take her towards the next stop of our trip for today.

We had fun in bed, then our breakfast. After getting ready in swim shorts and tropical printed shirt, I waited for her as I was looking at some brochures and when she came out wearing a blue dress, I didn't even need to imagine her swimsuit.

We were going to do cliff diving, but I changed my mind for certain valid reasons and decided to go straight for snorkeling. Piya loved it, and I loved taking her pictures. Then we walked on the beach and her appetite finally came back. After having lunch, we went back to the hotel and got changed then left to tour around the city.

We spent three days in Havana, then we went off to my friend's villa in Varadero. Piya was reading a book on the wicked sunbed by the pool while I was attending a last-minute interview arranged by Lesly who wants to get as much money out of me as possible before my early retirement.

I was in the middle of the meeting when I saw Piya passing by the door and gave little thought to it. But then she passed by again and this time I saw she wasn't wearing her swimsuit but a dress. She looks to have taken a few steps back and comes to a stop in front of the door.

"You have two minutes, Veer. Two minutes. If you don't end your interview by then, I am going to do some Salsa with someone else in this dress." She says as she twirls around.

As soon as I see her back, I say, "Guys, I can't hear you. Hello! Hello! I think the signal is lost. Why don't you email your questions to Lesly? I promise to answer them all. Thanks for your invitation." Piya shows me one finger and looks at her watch, "Thanks for supporting me. Hope we meet up soon when I am there and maybe arrange another interview. Goodbye."

I hang up and look at her only to find her giggling while saying, "God, you love me very much."

"Yes. That's why we aren't going out." I say.

"Who said I was going out for salsa?" She asks with a fake frown.

"Piya!" I exclaim and she runs off.

"Don't run in those hills, dear." I say as I run after her.

When I caught up to her, we danced till our hearts were content and so were our bodies. Time with her was flying too fast and the only thing I could do was hold her close to me for as long as I could.
