34. Caught By...

***Piya's POV.***

'Thanks for the beautiful dinner. Wish I could be there to see your blush and yes, I take the whole blame and will take it again and again with one kiss at a time.'

I screech in happiness, but close my mouth at the last moment.

"What happened, Piya?" Subu asks from outside the bathroom.

"Nothing. Just a cockroach." I say.

"What?! Remove it before I go to the washroom." She says.

"Okay." I say and jump a little silently with joy.

Tonight was the bestest night of my life after the night I won that award. Everything still feels like a dream and sometimes I do fear that it doesn't turn out to be one. That every morning I wake this is still my reality. That Veer really loves and we are together.

The next day was boring as I didn't get to meet Veer, but I got his call while I was attending a client. So I called him back and her manager said he was in the middle of a shoot. Later at night we texted each other till very late, which got me late for my work the next day.

Obviously, Rihaan didn't spare me and I had to work twice as hard as before because of which I couldn't meet Veer when he came back home. So to surprise him, I made his favorite dish.

"Gajar ka Halwa." Subu says just as I start packing a box for Veer.

"Yes." I say with a smile.

"For me?" She asks and takes a bowl.

"30% is yours." I say.

"That much only. I thought I held more than that space in your heart." She says.

"Share it with Rihaan and coax him to forgive me for being late again today." I say, "Please."

"What would I get in return?" She asks.

"Anything." I say.

"Anything?" She asks with a smirk and I start to regret it.

"Anything, but it should be reasonable." I say.

"Okay. Ciao." She says and waves at me.

"Bye." I say and leave for Veer's house.

I take the auto and can't contain my eagerness to see Veer after two whole days. When it comes to a stop, I literally fly out of the vehicle and almost stumble.

"Here, Bhaiya. Keep the change." I say and rush inside.

When I enter the house, it is empty. Uma Didi, the housekeeper of the house, tells me that Dadu and Dadi have gone out for a walk and only Veer is at the house. As I have always been around Veer in this house more than half of my life, nobody actually minds when I go upstairs with an excuse to discuss some business as Veer was technically helping Rihaan.

I walk up the stairs with an elegant ladylike posture but as soon as I am out of sight; I run towards his room in excitement. His door is closed, so I knock on it, but it takes him time to open the door and when he does, my eyes widen in surprise.

"Piya! What are you doing here early this morning? Can't wait to see me, huh?" He asks with his usual smirk.

But my eyes are transfixed by the lots of skin that is on display right now. I blink my eyes as I see a single drop of sweat running down from his forehead to his cheek, then his jaw, then down his neck. Little did I not realize that I was moving my neck along with my eyes with fascination and Veer followed those moves too in confusion.

"You okay?" Veer asks.

"Yep! I am perfectly fine." I say and enter his room when he steps aside.

I mentally scold myself for acting like a total creep and get my head on the greeting and say, "Good morning."

"Good morning." He says with a confused smile.

"So... how was your campaign?" I ask, as I don't know why I am feeling so awkward all of a sudden.

"It was great." He says and picks up a dumbbell.

"And what about the tournament?" I ask as I see his muscles literally flex. His one arm must be almost the size of my waist.

"It is going well, too. But I am a little nervous." He says.

"Why?" I ask and almost lose my footing when he puts the dumbbell away and starts doing push-ups.

"Sit down, Piya." He says and I sit on the bed which isn't messy and made properly and he continues, "I am nervous because this is the biggest competition of my life and I really want to win this."

"You will win this." I say confidently.

He smiles and says, "Obviously, you say that."

"Hey! I am not saying this because I love you. Okay? Because I am really confident in your win. You have worked hard, Veer, and are still working..." I say and gulp, "You will do the best. And winning and losing comes later. Do you know what comes first?"

He gets up and asks, "What?"

"Your mindset about it. If you lose a game, your attitude decides if it is true. And the same goes for your winning. What you think about it and how you behave about it is all that matters. And I know that you have good sportsmanship, which will take you places." I say.

He walks up to me and takes my hand as he says, "You will make a good cheerleader. Wanna join my club?"

"Not interested." I say, "But I have another way to cheer you up."

"What?" He asks and I open my bag and take out the box.

"Tada!" I say.

"Gajar ka Halwa! What did I do to deserve to get this?" He asks.

"Loving me." I say, and he chuckles.

"Then I should love you more to get treats like this every single day." He says and bends down his head.

My heart skips a beat and I just want to let the moment come, but I get too shy. I get up at the last moment and run in the opposite direction. He frowns in confusion, the look I love the most because he is cutest then.

"You are sweaty." I say with a giggle.

"Well, you looked very interested in it not five minutes ago." He says.

"You noticed that?" I ask in shock.

"Oh, I notice everything about you." He says as his eyes bore into mine with something hot in it, "Every damn thing."

"For example." I ask.

"You love black color." He says.

"Everyone knows that." I say.

"And you love sweet rather than spice." He says.

"Everyone knows that, too." I say.

"But do they know that you love taking pictures of vegetables and often call them cute or baby?" He asks, and my eyes widen in shock.

"Veer, how did you know that?" I ask.

"Also the fact that you still don't know how to make one dish. Wanna tell me which one?" He asks, and I am shocked by the second, "Moong dal ka halwa. Dhruv uncle's favorite, right? And, Uff! The excuses you give. Wanna tell me that, too?"

"No, that's enough." I say.

"Do you know you are incredibly shy but when it comes to the things you want or the person you like who becomes yours, you get aggressively possessive of them, which is quite cute?" He says.

"I said that's enough." I say.

"Also, do you still have three safety pillows with you on the bed when you go to sleep?" He asks.

"Yes. Why?" I ask with a frown.

"So you rather choke them than a person." He says.

"How do you know that?" I ask or more like a scream that question.

"I told you, I notice everything about you." He says as he comes closer, "Every little thing. Also, the fact that you didn't just come here to give me that box. You came here because you missed me and..."

"And..." I ask as he bends down again to my level.

"And to get something in return." He says as he pushes a strand of hair behind my ear. He looks at my lips, then back in my eyes and asks, "Do you want it?"

"Do you really need to ask anymore?" I ask in return.

"Yes. Because then I don't have to hold back." He says, and it takes me a second to understand what he meant before his lips take mine in a passionate kiss.

He was holding back last time, and this time he was making up for it. It took me a few seconds to respond to him and when I did; he groaned and I could feel it against my hand, which I had placed on his chest. The brush of his lips against mine makes my knees go weak and I almost fall down, but then his strong arms come around mine, holding me closer than before.

"Is it too much?" He says, sounding breathless as he nuzzles my cheek.

"No. In fact, it is enough... for now." I say and kiss him ever so lightly on his lip.

"Sometimes, I feel myself losing control around you." He says it like he is sharing some dark secret.

"Same goes for me." I say and he looks up and I give him a reassuring smile, "We have been holding back for a decade. So it is natural for us to feel like this. I am glad that I am not the only one."

"I feel the same way." He says and hugs me hard.

I tighten my arms around him too and take the much needed air. I thought we would be so conscious and nervous to even hold hands and now here we are, not even thinking twice before telling each other our desires little by little. We can be shy all we want, but beyond that we want each other.

"Aren't you going to eat the halwa?" I ask.

"In a minute." He says and pulls back a little.

"It will get spoiled." I say.

He brushes his nose against mine and says, "No. It won't."

"Are you sure?" I ask and feel my eyes closing.

"Yes, I am." He says and I can almost feel his lips against mine.

"Veer, I am home." A chirpy voice says and we look at the door to see one person we didn't expect to see.

We were caught by...
