"Thanks for shopping at Janae's, come back soon" I smiled at the customer, handing her her bag

"Girl I am tired" Felix rested his head on the counter

"She got us working all week with no days off, took away our first break, and we only get a 20 minute lunch break instead of an hour" I named everything Janae had did, resting my head right beside him

"I heard her arguing with her boyfriend earlier. That's probably why she in such a shitty mood" he said

"My personal life is none of your business" Janae's voice could be heard from behind us

We both quickly sat up

"And why aren't you all working?"

"There's nobody in here" Felix stated

"Then go put the clothes in order or something"

"They aren't out of order" he said

"Well find something to do and fast." she gritted her teeth "Or you'll both be out of a job"

"We will" I smiled, walking over to the clothes, and pulling Felix with me

"That bitch getting on my nerves" he rolled his eyes

"She's getting on mine too, but I ain't finna give her the satisfaction of knowing that." I explained to him

"I gotchu" he nodded, calming himself down

We started refolding all the clothes and fixing everything that looked a little out of place.

"Yo, you ready to go?" Chris walked in, every Monday he comes and takes me to lunch

"Where we going?" Felix asked, smirking

"I came to take E to lunch" he emphasized on my nickname

Over these pst few month, me and him have become really good friends. How? I will never know, but he isn't such an asshole anymore.

"Well excuse me" Felix said, walking off to busy himself

"I can't go" I said to Chris

"Why not?"

"Our boss is only giving us a 20 minute lunch break, by the time we order it'll be time to go."

"Damn. Why she do that?"

"Hell if I know" I shrugged

"Want me to go pick you up something to eat then?"

"I honestly just want some curly fries and a sprite" I said

"Gotchu" he said

"What about me?" Felix walked back over

Chris smacked his teeth "Whatchu want man?"

"A Caesar salad and a sweet tea" Felix smiled

"Aight" he said before heading for the door

"Thanks boo" Felix called out

Chris gave an annoyed look before walking out the door

"Chill, Fe" I chuckled

"He be playing hard to get" he shook his head

"You something else" I laughed lightly, folding a pair of jeans

"So I've been told." he grinned "So wassup with y'all?" he asked

"What you mean?"

"He buying you lunch and stuff, y'all go places together, he even picked you up from work a few times. Y'all fucking?"

"Hell no" I answered honestly "He's just a friend"

"Riiiight" he said sarcastically

"Don't say it like that. I'm serious" I said honestly

"If y'all not fucking then y'all really close to it" he said

"We don't look at each other like that" I shook my head

"Riiiight and I'm straight"

"Stop doing that"

"What nigga you know gone buy a girl some food with his money and waste his gas on her, and they ain't fucking?"

"A good friend" I said

"Keep telling yourself that" he laughed "He'll be in them guts sooner or later"

"No he won't. Wanna know why?"

"Because y'all friends" he put air quotation marks when he said friends

"Exactly and no friend of mine is getting in my guts" I mocked him

"Eden, I need to see you in my office" Janae called from the back

"Whatchu do?" Felix asked

"Nothing she just likes saying my name" I smirked, going in the back

"Have a seat" she said

I sat down and waited for her to start talking

"Want a water?" she smiled

"I'm good. Why'd you call me back here?"

"I just wanted to talk to my hardest worker." she kept a fake smile plastered on her face

She was forcing it so hard it looked like it hurt

"What you wanna talk about?" I played along

"That young man that comes here every Monday" she leaned forward in her chair

"What about him?"

"He's not your boyfriend or anything is he?"

"Not at all."

"Good. So you wouldn't mind giving him my number" she slid her card towards me

"Can't you just give it to him?"

"I don't want him to think I'm coming on too strong. You understand right?"

"Mhm. I gotta get back to work" I stood up, leaving the card

"Don't forget to give him my number" she handed it to me

I left out of her office irritated. I don't care about here wanting to talk to Chris, but she should do it her damn self. Instead she tried to play nice with me. That's a bunch of fake bullshit.

"What she wanna talk to you about?" Felix asked

"She wanted me to give Chris her number" I said dryly

"Oooo. Do I sense a little anger?" he smirked, nudging me

"Yes. She's trying to use me and I don't like that shit."

"Or is it because she tryna get close to yo man?"

"He's not my man and I don't-"

"They ain't have sprite so I got you a Mountain Dew" Chris walked back in with our food

"Thanks. I'ma go in the back and eat." Felix said before walking off

"Thanks. Here" I handed Chris her number

"What's this?" he asked

"My boss's number" I said

"I don't need no job" he laughed

"She gave it to you for other reasons" I ate a fry

"Ohhh. She want the willie" he did a pervertish smirk, slipping the number in his pocket

"Please shut up" I lightly laughed

"I'll definitely be calling her." pulling out his phone

"I bet you will" I shook my head "Wanna come to the back? Technically I'm not supposed to be eating out here" I said

"It's a problem at the warehouse" he said, reading a message "Duty calls"

"So damn corny" I chuckled

"Yeah, yeah. I'll see you later, aight?"

"Ok. Bye"
