"I need to talk to you" Candice came into my office

"Next time, knock first" I said

"That's exactly what I came to talk to you about" she said

"Knocking on doors?" I scrunched up my face in confusion

"No, about you treating me differently." she sat down

"Ain't nobody treating you differently. I treat you like every other worker" I said

"and that's the problem. You know I used to have special privileges back in the day" she smirked

"Well, this is now and those privileges have been revoked" I explained

"It's that girl, huh?"

"My girl ain't none of your business, Candice. Don't make me regret hiring you back"

"Regret hiring me? Nigga I'm the best runner you got" she said

"I wouldn't say the best, you pretty good at the game though. But your attitude can get yo ass outta here quick."

"I'm just saying, what we used to have was on a personal level. I miss that"

"And now, it's just business. You a cool girl and all, but I ain't gone mess up what I got at home. Understand?"

"I just don't understand how-"

Somebody knocked on the door, interrupting her.

"Come in" I said

Josh came in "You gotta go to Atlanta"

"For what?" I asked

"Some nigga down there wanna do business with you" he explained "His name is Smitty"

"Drug business or actual business?"

"Both. He's willing to buy some of yo product for 100,000, and wants to do a deal with you on a new hotel they're opening up down there."

Damn, that'll earn me a lot more money.

"Shit, call and book a flight. I want y'all two to come with me" I said to him and Candice

I might not like Candice's attitude and the way she's going about things but, she's a good worker and quick to handle business, so is Josh.

"Alright" they said in unison

"I'll go book them now" Josh left out, closing the door

"We weren't finished talking" she said

"We were. This is just business, if you can't understand that then I'ma need you to leave." I got up

"I...I understand" she sighed

"Now I suggest you go pack a bag so we can catch this plane"

After I went home and packed my bag, I headed over to Eden's apartment.

"Baby girl?" I looked around the apartment for her "I got something I need to tell you"

"I'm in the bathroom" she called "I'll be out in a second" I heard the toilet flush

After about two minutes, she came out.

"Hey" she smiled, sniffling

"You been crying?" I asked, tucking her hair behind her ear

"No" she quickly shook her head "Just a cold"

"You sure?" I asked

"Yeah, it started raining while I was jogging the other day"

"Damn babe. You need anything?"

"No, I'll be ok. What did you have to tell me?"

"I gotta go to Atlanta for a week or two"

"Atlanta? Why?"

"Some business is down there." I gave a simple answer

"My opening for the building is in two weeks" she sighed

"I know, I know. I should be back in time for it."

"Ok" she said lowly "Fine"

"Don't be like that, baby" I pulled her in for a hug "I'm gonna try my best to get back as fast as I can"

"I understand" she said into my chest

"Alright. Now I gotta go catch this plane, gimme the lips" I leaned down

She gave me a quick ass peck "Bye"

"Stop playing with me" I grabbed her throat and pulled her to me, giving her the kiss I wanted, which was wet and nasty- in the good way

I pulled away "I'll call you when I get to the hotel"

"How dare you leave me all hot and bothered?" she tossed her head back

I pecked her lips one more time "I got you when I get back" I pulled my travel bag on my shoulder

"Bye baby. Be safe"

"Bye, sweetheart" I said before exiting

After Chris left, I immediately called Felix.

"E, it's 2 something in the morning where I'm at" he answered, sounding half sleep

"I know and I'm sorry, but I really need to talk to you" I began crying again

"What's wrong, baby cakes?"

This chapter is really short.

The next few chapters will be on the boring side, all the boringness will be worth it though ☺️. So you still have to vote and comment to get to the juicy part.
