I still stood at the door with my mouth gaped open, staring at her.

What the hell is she doing here? How did she find me this time?

"Eden!" I heard Felix's voice coming through on my phone

I snapped out of my thoughts and picked the phone up from the floor.

"I'll call you back" I said before hanging up

I looked at her again, still not believing she was in front of me after all these years.

"What are you doing here, Karen?" I called her by her name

"Aren't you happy to see me?" she asked, looking like she already knew the answer to that

"Hell no" I answered truthfully "You need to leave" I started closing the door

"Honey please" she caught it with her hand "Let me in. I just wanna talk to you"

"Talk? Psh, not you" I rolled my eyes

"Angel, please" she called me by my middle name "Just hear me out"

I sighed, growing a little soft "Come in" I opened the door all the way

"Thank you" she nodded, walking in

"Talk"

"This house is beautiful, you seem to be doing good for yourself. I'm proud of you" her eyes explored the house

"This property is private. How'd you even get through the gates?"

"Me and the guard used to date before I met your father" she chuckled

I kept a straight face

She cleared her throat, seeing I was unamused "Anyway, I'm clean now" a smile spread on her face

"I'm happy for you. Is that all?" part of me wanted to hear her out, the other part didn't give a shit

"I wanna be a part of your life again...Let me fix what I messed up."

"You can't fix that shit." I scrunched up my face "You left me, you took my father away from me, I was alone!" I felt myself getting angry

"And I'm sorry for that, I truly mean am. I just wanna make things right with you."

"How did you even find me?"

"A friend of mine helped me out. But that's neither here nor there right now, I'm begging for you forgiveness"

"Yeah, you're begging just like I begged you to stop doing drugs and beating on me for no reason"

"You gotta understand, I wasn't in my right mind. I didn't mean any of those things. If I could take it all back I would. I ruined my family and I'm sorry" her head went down

"You should go" I felt myself wanting to cry

"I deserve that" she sighed "Please just-"

"Goodbye, Karen" I opened the door

"Can you at least write down my number? Just in case you change your mind and wanna talk" she turned to me once she was out the door

"I won't change my mind" I said before slamming it

On the other side of the door, I could hear her crying.

Why do I feel so bad? I should be happy that I'm shutting her out!

"What's your number?" I opened the door, feeling guilty

*3 hours later

After I got her number, she left, and I've been sitting in the same spot ever since. So many questions ran through my head, my heart was hurting all over again. I don't know what to do right now.
  It's like that sad little girl came back. The little girl that had hope her mother would get better and her family would be restored. The little girl that longed to feel her mother's love again someday.

My phone rang, snapping me out of my thoughts. I wiped my eyes before answering.

"Hello?"

"Hey. You didn't come see me today. Everything good?" Chris's voice flowed through the other end

"No" I took a deep breath "My mom came pass"

"What? Really?"

"Yeah...I don't wanna talk to her right now, but I wrote down her number."

"Well whatever you decide, you know I support you.

"I know baby, thank you" I felt a little better, remembering that he has my back one hundred percent

"But uhm, how'd she get our address?"

"She claims a friend helped her find it"

"I know that's your mama and all, but stay safe. I don't want nobody hurting you or lil man"

"I understand, I don't trust her anyway."

"You came up with any names you like yet?" He asked

"No" I chuckled "I hope I think of some before he gets here"

"I been tryna' think of some too" he said

"You have one minute left" the operator said

Chris and I deeply sighed together "I hate this part" I said

"Me too, sweetheart. Hopefully after next week, we don't have to do it anymore"

"Yeah, hopefully. I love you, Maurice"

"I love you more" He said "Kiss Benji for me" He chuckled

"Bye Christopher" I chuckled

"Bye baby" He said before the call ended

Simple chapter. Still gotta vote though.
