Sepecial - We can't do without 'Them

A massively important job - a profession of care.
Jobs like these really remind some of the things that really matter, just some though.

B2C jobs may get psyched up in their importance perhaps down to a poor economy creating a desperation to secure and stick out said stressful jobs; doing the jobs of 3 people, not so united with cliques are frazzled, overworked colleagues - all being scrutinized by likely clueless bosses and an even more clueless and entitled general public.

Though the difference care and hospitality can literally a case of measuring the difference between life & death (- allergies not included). ;)

A wise man once told me a business will hire a cleaner to clean the floors, but over time, the cleaner occasionally wipes the tables as a favour. Once this cleaners service to the business ends, the next cleaner is expected to clean floors and tables.
I expanded on this analogy and added that no doubt the window cleaner hasn't been replaced and now cleaner 3 has yet more duties.

Care workers working to an excessive workload is a scary enough reality.
If a care worker is expected to feeds, medicates and does hospital runs, along with their previous role as the cleaner, is it not a big ask to expect a level of customer service that involves 'maintaining a kempt appearance' - not being scruffy and smelly fair enough, but being expected to replace (out of your own pocket) a uniform as soon as it starts  showing wear and to top up your hair dye as your roots are showing, all whilst remembering to  wear your sales assistant joker smile.

It doesn't make me more greatful for my set up, I'll personally be giving this profession a pass
