The war has been going on for just over a thousand years will no signs it be ending soon. The whole world is in a huge war with eachother and trying to gain power instead of just ruling one kingdom.

10% of the human race that left are more with super powers that the goverment use in the war. They find the children born with powers and take them to an academy where they be trainned to become weapons for the war.

But each child born with a power, they also born with sharing a soul with anotehr. The person who shares them soul will help control their power within their own bodies but they born as demi humans. Meaning they have animal like teeth, hair and a tail. But the two bodies will only share one soul meaning they share a life.

The human with a power can keep living if their demi human dies but they lose their soul and power forever. If a human with power dies then the demi human life force starts to weaken and they either die from their body being too week or they barely live with a half life.

Most Humans with power will meet their soul sharer before the age of twelve since the goverment goes looking out for them and bring them with the child to keep their power safe. But some never meet their demi human. Some meet their soul sharer later in life and some well they feel their soul sharer die before losing their power.

My name is makoto and I'm a demi human, I have traties of being a cat. I have a slim blonde tail and fluffy dirty blonde cat ear with slightly pointy teeth. I'm tall with a strond built but thanks to me being a demi human who hasnt joined with their soul sharer, I'm looked down on. I have dirty blonde hair and bright green eyes. I just turned eighteen a couple months ago and well I'm a medic during this war. 

I came from a poor broken town just like most of the human race that still alive during the war. The war has mostly destoryed any buildings and livable lands. Well some places are still left untouched and is safe but thats thanks to the goverment protection, most towns and cities have been left for dead hundreads of years ago.

I lost my parents when I was just a child and my little brother and sister was just toddlers. They were born normal humans with no power and I knew I couldn't keep them safe. So, I snuck into a safe camp using my ears and extra smell to miss any guards before placing them down with the other children that was given entry. I was about to leave when I bumped into a young soldier and my eyes widen, I was ready to run but he just smiled when my siblings crawled over grabbing my legs with tears in the eyes. 

He gave me a chance at a better life while letting my siblings live in the safety off the base. They be able to have two meals every day, a warm shower, a bed and shelter every day for the rest of the lives. All I had to do was sign up and I did, I became a medic. It took me a good four years of training since I was only eight but as soon as I was twelve, I became a pro.

I go around finding the injured soldier or not and patch them up before taking them somewhere safe. I mostly just work around the old towns nearby to the safe camp. Sometimes I went really far but I didnt mind because I was saving lives that didnt need to die just yet. I was happy even when a raging war was going on.

I knew I couldn't save everyone but I tried to ease their pain when I could before moving on and helping to save someone else. I ware black trousers with black trainers since I do need to run a lot, A red shirt that sleeves end at my elbows and a green waste coat. I have a medic band on my left thigh to show others I'm a medic and a hand knife strapped to my right thigh to help protect myself. A medic not given a unifrom like soldiers nor are they giving a gun, It sucks a little but you learn to live with what you got. My black belt is full of pouches that filled with medical surprised i might need. I also carry a dark green shoulder bag that has a medic sign on, it carries more medical surprise since I can hold carry the basic with my belt and will need more after finding up to five injured people. 

But right now, the human race wasn't just fighting a war but a new virus as well. No one knew how it started or when, it just came out of nowhere affecting all towns. This virus turned someone crazy and very angry. It messed with their brain making them only be violent towards others. They run at an uninfected person and just kill them brutally before walking on to kill another.

If your lucky to live after coming close to one them most chances is that your infected too or will be since any body liquid from someone already infected can infect you too. Thankful the infected dont become zombies but they just kill without reason and they wont show any mercy to who they kill. You feel pain if killed by their hands and the only way to stop an infected is by killing them. 

Yet I'm still not given a gun to protect myself, I just have my knife. I'm trained with the knife but it means coming up close to kill them and well higher chance of me becoming infected. Soldiers have been making secret safe camps to hide up those uninfected and protect them from dying such a horrible fate. But its so secret that towns dont know about them meaning Soldiers are sent out on patrols daily to keep an eye out and some are send far out to collected anyone still alive to bring back. 

Its my job to look for survivors and help bring back any injured soldiers that got caught by someone infected. They do kill you but like I said, they make sure you feel pain meaning they just keep killing you slowly. Some use knifes and will keep stabbing you, some use wooden plans or poles they found on their hunt to kill. The newer turned infected will just use their own hands to keep hitting you with sudden unknown strength killing you. Its might fault to find the poor souls who landed in the infected hands and keep them alive while bringing them back to the safe camp before they fully killed.   

But it was doing one of these runs that I met him...
