A girl walked in the university wearing a oversized hoodie and black jeans.

Her hood was over her head as she had earphones in her ears.

Though she had music going on in her ears but she could hear what all the people were talking about.

"You know there are three new students in our university. They'll join from tomorrow"

The girl furrowed her eyes hearing that.

"Yeah I know and i even got to know that they are damn handsome"

The girl shook her head in disbelief and continued walking to her class.

She went to her class and sat on the last seat near the window.

She put her head down as soothing music crossed through her ears.

??: Y/n?

She looked up to see a boy from her class. She gave him a questionable look.

The boy forwarded her a book.

Boy: your book

She took it from him.

Boy: thanks for giving it to me for completion.

She nodded and again kept her head down.

Soon the class started to fill up with students but y/n was least interested in them.

She was all the time looking out of the window as the sad music rushed through her ears.

T: ok students now stop talking our class is about to begin....

Y/n looked at the teacher when she heard her voice. She removed her earphones but the hood was still above her head.

The class started.

................

It was the break time.

Y/n packed her stuff and quietly walked out of the class. She went to her locker.

She again took out her earphones again wearing them on her ears. 

Before keeping her bag inside she removed her small tiffin from her bag and started to walk.

"Oh poor girl can't even afford the cafeteria food"

She heard one of the girl laugh at her.

She ignored them and walked away.

She reached the rooftop.

She closed her eyes when she felt the cold breeze rush though her face.

She went and sat near the railing. Opening her tiffin box she removed a slice of sandwich that was kept in the tiffin.

She cut the sandwich into two parts. She then walked in the corner of the rooftop.

There was a big water tank kept over there.

She peeped behind the tank to see a small puppy.

She gave the half piece of sandwich to the puppy.

She always does that.

She patted the puppy's head and walked away eating the half left sandwich that was in her hand.

The bell rang.

Y/n went to her locker and took her books.

She went to her class but the teacher was already there. She knocked on the door.

T: oh y/n you late today

Y/n bowed to her as a sign of sry.

T: it's ok you can go and sit.

Y/n nodded and went to her seat. She removed her earphones and concentrated on the class.

..............

It's was the last period of the day.

Y/n had a free period so she walked out of the class wearing her earphones again.

She walked to words the library.

She went inside the library and the librarian smiled at her.

Y/n bowed to her as she was elder.

Librarian: fiction?

Y/n nodded.

Librarian: you can go there. We have changed the fiction shelf.

The librarian said pointing to the corner.

y/n nodded and went over there.

She started to search for a new fiction book she wants to read.

She found a book.

'IF I STAY'

It was the name of the book.

She removed the book and went in the corner of the library near the window seat.

She went there and started reading the book.

Music ran through her ears as she got mesmerized into the book.

She was soo into that book that she lost the track of time.

She felt a hand on her shoulder.

She look back to see the librarian.

Librarian: it's time to go home y/n. It's already late

Y/n looked at the clock to see the university had already ended.

She got up from her seat and kept the book where it was.

She bowed to the librarian saying bye.

The librarian smiled at her and waved at y/n.

Y/n left from there.

Librarian: i feel bad for her......

......................

Y/n walked home.

As soon as she opened the door of her house, she was welcomed by a tight slap on her face.

Y/n's face turned to the other side due to the impact.

She looked infront to see her step mom.

S/mom: bitch the university ended 20 minutes ago then why are you late huh!?

Y/n didn't say anything just looked down.

S/mom: yeah now you won't even talk useless bitch......

She again slapped her.

It's hurts y/n, it hurts really bad but there are no tears in her eyes.

She was still standing at the door when someone pushed away entering the house.

She looked at the person to see her step dad.

S/Dad: hEy HoNeY~

He said in a drunken voice.

Y/n gulped down her own saliva knowing what is about to come.

Her step dad turned around and looked at her.

S/dad: oh heY bItCh~

He came and stood infront of her as she backed away a little.

S/dad: yOu knOw i aM boReD sO leT mE enTertAiN mysElF a liTtLe

He said as he dragged her to the living room.

He removed his belt and started beating her.

She didn't cry, she closed her eyes enduring the pain.

Her step dad stopped when he passed out on the sofa.

Her step mom looked at her with disgust.

S/mom: you have work today?

Y/n shook her head as no

S/mom: then go in your room and dare to come out i won't hesitate to kill you

Y/n got up from the floor.

S/mom: IS IT CLEAR!!!?

Y/n flinched and nodded her head.

S/mom: good....

She left from there.

Y/n went to her room.

She locked the door.

As soon as she locked the door she slide down on the door as tears made their way down her eyes.

She cried silently knowing no one is there to give her a shoulder.

When she was done, she got up and went to the washroom.

She removed her hoodie just to see that her body was filled with injuries, abusive marks to be precise.

She wears hoodies just to cover those marks.

She sighed looking at her own reflection.

She cleaned up herself and wore a fresh pair of clothes.

She went out and layed down on the bed looking blankly at the celling.

No emotions in her eyes, only a thought in her mind

"Can my life be any better...?"

She said as closed her eyes going into her dreamland, her only escape from the real world..........
