2
(A/n: I am so glad you all liked Chapter 1 so, I figured it would make sense if I created Chapter 2. This chapter will take on Dr Jekyll's POV after that night he and Hyde met Christina and Roseanne! Pls enjoy!)
It had been weeks since me and Hyde met those two beautiful songbirds.. I had been reeling from hearing Christina and Roseanne's lovely voices which sounded deep yet.. heavenly. That wasn't surprising since miss Nightingale got Christine's voice. As I walked past the graveyard, I heard soft sobbing coming from inside it. Curious, I went inside, following the sobs. As they got louder and louder when I got to the source, there, sitting in front of a grave, was Christina? What in the world was she doing there?? I hid behind a tree and watched her from a distance.
Her honey locks were pinned up into a intricate hairstyle with a small black rose hairpin that let some strands fall into her face in the cool breeze. She wore a black dress with a light amount of lace and reached to her knees. Clasped around her neck was a choker made with a black velvet band and decorated with a single ruby. On her little feet were a pair of black flats. Covering her face was a mourning veil. The look in those beautiful cobalt blues seemed saddened yet deep. I wonder what's the matter with her?
'Jekyll, look at who's grave she's sitting in front of!' I heard Hyde say as I looked at the grave she knelt in front of and my blood chilled. That was Lucy's grave! But why would Christina be sitting there? Unless.. I paled as I made my realization. I wanted to doubt it so I listened in on her conversation. "Hey, Cousin.." she began, her eyes shining with unshed tears as she gulped back a sob. "I apologize for not being able to visit you. But, I got something important to say.." she flashed the grave a sad smile. "I met mr Hyde and Roseanne likes him, just as I like Dr. Jekyll." She said before breaking down in a fit of crying.
"Why did that bastard have to kill you?! You were almost free and I was praying for you to be safe and happy in that life.. WHY?! Do you know how much pain I suffered because of him? I had to create Roseanne after what happened!" She sighed softly to steady her breathing. "I'm sorry about that outburst, Luce. It's.. a sensitive subject for me. I might not be able to bring you back, but.. I intend by making up for my uselessness by singing you this." She cleared her throat and started to sing. (A/n: start music.)
"Look at me, I will never pass for a perfect bride.. or a perfect cousin. Can it be, I'm not meant to play this part? Now I see, that if I were truly to be myself... I would break my own heart."
She stood up slightly and undid her hair from it's hairstyle and veil, making me freeze. That was then I caught a glimpse of her past life which caused her to be silently suffering in pain.
"Who is that girl I see staring straight back at me? Why is my reflection someone I don't know? Somehow I cannot hide, who I am though I've tried.. when will my reflection show who I am inside? When will my reflection show who I am.. inside~?"
She sat back down onto the grave and played with her hair, not noticing that it was raining. Immediately, I walked over to her and placed my umbrella over her. "Huh?" Christina looked up and smiled. "Hey, Doctor. I wasn't expecting you to be here." She said with a light teasing manner which I could tell was false. "At this rate, your going to get Ill. Best you come with me, Christina." I told her as she stood up and we began walking to my manor. She looked so fragile in that dress.. after she had changed into a spare nightgown, she curled up next to me like a cat would to it's owner.
"Why were you with ms Harris?" I asked as she looked down. That was then she told me everything, from when she was a beginner star, to Lucy's death and finally, the birth of Roseanne. It shocked me to know all the things she had been put through. After she told me her tale, she was shaking like a newborn fawn before I hugged her. "Shh.. your safe now. I'm not letting some killer hurt you." I said to her as she calmed down. Christina tilted her forehead up at me and I kissed it. "I will not hurt you. I will never ever hurt you, my delicate songbird." She blushed a light pink flush.
Ah, she was so adorable! She fitted perfectly in my arms and melted into them since she was so tiny. For some of you, she looked like the most fragile china doll you'd ever seen! Placing herself in my lap, she placed her head against my chest. Her face was pretty yet had the cutest little plump cheeks and I had to resist the urge to pinch them lightly. Her lips were looked so soft and I wanted to touch them with my own.. staring deep into her blue eyes that reminded me of dark winter skies, I could see Christine Daaé in them.
Her honey colored hair felt so soft and fluffy when I petted her head as she seemed to enjoy that. Sometimes, I think she is a cat trapped in a human's body. But then.. she looks up at me and kisses my cheek, earning a blush from me as she laughs, her giggles sounding like sweet chiming bells. "Not funny, young lady." I playfully scold her as she laughs even more. "Oh, Hen-hen, I think it is~" she croons. I could hear Hyde laughing at that nickname she gave me. 'Oh hush, Hyde.' I thought as I heard him cackling.
'Nah. I think it's funny.' I heard him say before cackling once more. Lord help me with these two little gremlins..
