"This is why some people don't need to be drinking! If you know you're going to possibly cause trouble for others, don't go for the nearest alcohol! Just drink Hawaiian Punch! It eases your mind and makes you feel like you're on an island, dang it!" Amelia rants and jumps when she hears a scream behind her. She looks back at the direction she just came from with a frightened look.

She runs back to find out what's going on only to see Caroline finishing devouring the drunk and dropping body to the ground. She gasps making Caroline turn around.

"...Carrie?" Amelia asks, shocked by Caroline's bloody face and fangs out.

"...Melly."

And in a blink of an eye, Amelia is pinned to the wall.

"Ah, okay. Caroline? It's me! Your best friend and sister from another womb, remember?" Amelia puts her hands on Caroline's shoulders to keep her at arm's length.

"I know but I'm so hungry." Caroline snarls, looking hungrily at Amelia's neck.

"Hey, there's something called consent! At least buy me a pepperoni pizza with extra pepperoni then maybe I could let you have a little taste!" Amelia smacks her best friend's shoulders as she inches closer.

Flashback

"Come on, Melly! We have to be the cutest girls in our class!" A young Caroline pouts, crossing her arms.

"Look, Carrie. If you want to get me all dolled up, then get me a pepperoni pizza with extra pepperoni."

"What is with you and pepperoni pizza?!" Caroline let's out a frustrated sigh. "I worry for your future husband."

"Hey, he wouldn't even be able to handle me anyway. I definitely get on his nerves." Amelia giggles.

End of Flashback

After the memory, Caroline comes back to her senses, her face returning to normal. "...Amelia?"

"Is my pretty Caroline good now? 

Caroline looks down at her bloody clothes then at the dead drunk.

"Oh my god..." She whispers, her eyes tearing up.

Before Amelia can try to comfort her, she is surprised when Katherine suddenly appears. The eldest vampire immediately becomes angry seeing and vamp speeds to Caroline, hand around her throat and slamming her back to the wall.

"Are you serious?! I was trying to teach you self control and you escape me go attack my sister?!" Katherine yells, her own vampire eyes showing.

"Katherine, stop it! She was protecting me from that pervert!" Amelia pushes Katherine's arm off and pulling Caroline into a protective embrace. "It's okay, Carrie. I'm here."

"Are you insane?! What if she bites into your neck?!" Katherine grabs Amelia's elbow to get shoved off.

As Amelia gently rubs her best friend's back, she glares at her older sister. "You see she's not attacking me."

Katherine notices this and is surprised.

And I'll tell you what I told her. Get me a pepperoni pizza with extra pepperoni and you can get a taste of this extraordinary being." Amelia tells Katherine with a sarcastic smile earning an eye roll. "Now... Would you mind explaining why my best friend is a vampire?!"

The best friends are now in the bathroom of Katherine's apartment, Amelia wiping off the blood on Caroline's face.

"...I killed someone." Caroline speaks up for the first time since they left the fair.

"Caroline."

"I almost killed my nurse and I actually killed a man. When I got away from Katherine, I heard your voice and saw that guy chase after you. I just wanted to protect you." Caroline explains as her eyes start tearing up again.

"And you did." Amelia puts the cloth down and gently cups Caroline's cheeks in her hands. "You were like Buffy swooping in to save the day."

"Buffy? Please." Caroline sniffles, rolling her eyes. "She's a vampire slayer and she would've killed me. I'm a monster."

"Hey." Amelia says in a stern tone. "You're Caroline Forbes. My best friend. My sister from another womb.  And the sun to my stars. That's who you are and always will be."

The tears finally start to fall from Caroline's eyes and Amelia wraps her arms around her.

Amelia steps out of the bathroom and heads into the living room, finding Katherine sitting on the couch while sipping on a drink.

"...What did you do with his body?" Amelia crosses her arms, staring her eldest sister down."

"I'll deal with it." She replies before looking at Amelia with a stern expression. "Mind telling me what you were doing by yourself?"

"I wanted my boyfriend to spend some time with his uncle while I went to go find a gift for Caroline. Now do you mind telling me why my best friend is a vampire? Are the wannabe Spike and Edward responsible? Or was it you?"

"Damon gave her his blood because her survival chances were very low. I think it was Bonnie who begged him to save Caroline's life. But I'm the one who killed her before his blood completely left her system. So I guess you could say that it was both of us?" Katherine answers, not bothered by the shocked look on Amelia's face.

"...Vampires have compulsion, right? Did you compel me to not see Caroline? Every time I wanted to go see her, my mind went elsewhere and I make a decision to do something else."

"I did." Katherine continues speaking before Amelia can question her again. "I couldn't completely depend on your boyfriend to stop you so I waited until you were home. You don't remember it because I compelled that too. It was for your own good. I couldn't risk her killing you. I was going to wait until her self control was good enough."

"...Did Carrie even get a say in this?" Amelia's voice cracks.

"Damon was feeding off of her while they were dating. He treated her as a blood bag." Katherine reveals, shocking Amelia. "Stefan and Damon have been pissing me off and I'm helping her get revenge. It's a fair trade."

"...What..." Amelia closes her eyes, trying to process the new revelation.

"Lia, I did her a favor. She's stronger now. No one can push her around anymore or think so lowly of her. And she'll be young and beautiful forever. The world will bow down to her." Katherine shrugs and takes another sip of her drink.

"That's not the point, Katherine!" Amelia yells, surprising the older vampire. "Fine, she needed vampire blood to live. But did you even ask her what she wanted?" She doesn't receive an answer. "I'm taking your silence as a no. Is your beef with the Salvatore brothers more important than her life? That was a life-changing decision! She had plans! She wanted to be a fashion designer. Get married. Have a kid or two. We even had this plan to test our husbands love for us by going into hiding somewhere and see if they really chase us to the end of the world... But you took that from her."

"...She really loves you." Katherine speaks looking behind Amelia.

A confused Amelia turns around, now seeing Caroline changed into new clothes and smiling at her.

"I know." Caroline giggles at the surprised look on Amelia's face.

"How long have you been standing there, sneaky?!"

"Since you said "Did you even ask her what she wanted?"; But I was listening way before that." Caroline steps forward and bops Amelia's nose. "I heard your whole love declaration for me. Maybe this being a vampire will be fun. I can listen to whatever you're saying if I'm ever nearby."

"Katerina, you put me at a disadvantage! How could you?!" Amelia screams then turns back to glare at Katherine.

Not realizing what she just said, she begins bickering with her best friend while the surprised Katherine stares at her.

"By the way... Why didn't I attack Melly? I mean I almost did but something she said made me remember one of my favorite memories. Then the hunger was gone." Caroline questions the older vampire.

"...It's because she's your humanity."

"Huh?" Amelia blinks, tilting her head.

"It's like werewolves and their anchors. They-"

"Werewolves are real too?!" The girls shouts making Katherine annoyed.

"Yes. Now can I continue?" Katherine snaps making the girls put their hands up in mock surrender. "They are able control themselves when having an anchor. Someone that keeps them tied to their humanity. Keep them sane. It's like that. You were about to feed on Lia but your love for her overcame the bloodlust." She explains then looks away from the girls.

"I'm assuming you had a similar experience? Who was your humanity?" Amelia curiously asks.

Katherine stands up and goes to stand in front of Amelia.

"You need to leave. Her training isn't done yet and I'm not taking any chances of you getting hurt." Katherine sternly tells her her.

"Wh- Are you kicking your own sister out?! I still have questions!" Amelia shouts.

"About that, I'm still confused. Since when do you have a third sister?" Caroline questions, looking back and forth between the sisters.

"I'll give you the short version since I've already explained that Elena is my doppelgänger. I had a younger sister named Natalia Petrova. She died but she's returned. She was reborn as Amelia Gilbert." Katherine explains before Amelia can.

"Wait, you mean reincarnation?! Like Kagome and Kikyo from InuYasha?" Caroline asks, getting excited.

"You're obsessed with this InuYasha too?" Katherine asks in disbelief.

"It's one of Melly's favorite animes of all time but I'm more into Fullmetal Alchemist. Roy Mustang is hot. Edward Elric is cute too. Oh and-" Caroline rants

"Okay okay before you rant about your anime crushes," Katherine grabs Amelia's wrist, "We're leaving. You stay put here, Blondie."

"No! I've been separated from my Carrie for too long! She needs me and I need her!" Amelia whines and Katherine starts to become frustrated.

Caroline gently holds Amelia's hand. "Melly, I'll be fine. You know me. I'll bounce back in no time and be back to being your bubbly ray of sunshine."

"But-"

"Keep enjoying the fair and takes lots of pictures for me, okay? I need to stay updated on everything that I missed. And you better not think about replacing me when I'm gone!" Caroline playfully threatens her.

"How am I going to find your replica within a short amount of time?" Amelia pouts.

Let's go." Katherine begins dragging Amelia towards the front door.

"I love you! You better not forget me!"

"How can I? You're my humanity, remember?" Caroline laughs.

Katherine drives up near the entrance the fair. She looks at the younger sister who is holding a bracelet with a sun pendant to her.

"I won this earlier. Can this be used as Carrie's daylight bracelet? I know that it's probably silly but-"

"It'll work. I know a witch who can spell it. I'm sure Caroline will love it. She's lucky to have you." Katherine reassures her, taking the bracelet. "She'll be fine."

Amelia doesn't respond and is about to leave the car but something Katherine says stops her.

"...It was the same for me back when first became a vampire."

"...What?" Amelia asks, confused.

Katherine is silent for a moment before sadly looking back at Amelia.

"After I became a vampire and had my first kill... When I saw the body of the man that I killed, I thought of you... The moment I lost you popped up in my mind. You asked who my humanity was... It's you." Katherine tells her with a tearful expression. "You called me Katerina earlier."

"...I've gotten a few more memories back." Amelia admits, surprising Katherine. "One where you got mad with our father for yelling at me. And I remember our other sister Milla. She was shielding me from him when he got mad at me for accidentally knocking over a bucket of water."

"Our father was not always the kindest man. Mother, Milla or I would always protect you from him." Katherine rolls her eyes at the thought of the man.

"Good thing that I had a better dad in this time." Amelia lightly chuckles. "Another one was when Marina and I were talking to your stomach."

"You two were speaking to your little niece. You were definitely her favorite aunt considering how much she kicked me whenever you touched my stomach or spoke to her." Katherine voice cracks, not having spoken about her daughter for over five-hundred years. "Anything else?"

Amelia is silent as she recalls the memory that made her have a sharp pain in her head and almost caused her to pass out. Shrouded in darkness, hearing herself whimpering and seeing a flash of gold eyes...

"...I think it was nighttime. I was in a lot of pain and... I don't know what it was but there was this creature... I think it was when I died." Amelia mumbles making Katherine sigh.

"...You were only eight years old when you died." Katherine reveals, shocking her. "I was the one who found you. Your death devastated our whole family. Even father despite how terrible he was... I'll protect you this time so don't worry. I'm here for you. Just promise me that you'll stay around people that you trust when I can't be with you."

"I promise... Katerina." Amelia gives her a shy smile. "Is it okay to call you that?"

"It hasn't been used in a long time... But I don't mind my little sister bringing it back." Katherine answers with a bright smile.

"Deal! I'll call you Katerina from now but call you Katherine when you're in trouble." Amelia teases making Katherine playfully roll her eyes.

"Then that will be a lot. I'm called Katherine Pierce for a reason. Now get out of my car and have fun. But don't have too much fun with your boyfriend if you know what I mean." Katherine teases, wiggling her eyebrows.

"Katherine!" Amelia eyes widened while blushing.

Amelia arrives at the Merry-go-round, finding Tyler sitting on the horse. She sits down next to him on the dragon and the ride starts.

"You okay? You look like you've seen things." He says.

"Somewhat." She sighs. "What about you? You look like you found out a family secret."

"How do we know each other so well? He sighs. "...I think Uncle Mason is a werewolf."

"...You're telling me that you might be Teen Wolf?" She asks in disbelief.

"Teen Wolf? You're comparing me to him? Wasn't he bitten? And why not the Twilight werewolves?" He questions her in disbelief as well then notices Jeremy watching them trying to catch his breath, seemingly ran there. "Your brother's here. I think he wants your attention."

Amelia quickly looks in the same direction to see her brother with a guilty look on his face.

You know I rewrote this chapter like three times?😫

So what do you all think about these big changes? Everyone except Amelia (and soon Tyler and Jenna) are unaware that Caroline is a vampire. Also Katherine will be replacing Stefan as Caroline's mentor. All the more reason I'm excited to get to Masquerade! Our girl will definitely be getting her revenge on Damon!😆 Oh and don't worry! She'll still be the same vamp we all know and love!😊

Yes I know Caroline had a daylight ring but I wanted to change it up a little bit. I remember how Caroline complained not getting to choose her ring so I thought why not get her something gifted from her other half😊

I haven't been throwing in a lot of flashbacks of Amelia's past life so I threw in a little something to speed up the process since I got very big plans after the masquerade!

I had to throw in another Teen Wolf reference, I couldn't help it!🤣
