Chapter 8
Izuku's POV~
The rest of the week went by easily. The class fell into a regular type of routine, wake up, class, homework, free time, sleep, repeat. Even our classes started to normalize.
Today was the start of the second week here at UA. Waking up was a slight challenge, but it's getting easier. I was able to get ready in half the time it took me last week, partly because my nerves were gone. I heard a knock on my door and opened it to find Kacchan standing behind it. The top few buttons of his uniform were open and he wasn't even wearing his tie. "Kacchan, you're going to get in trouble one of these days." I said with a sigh. I've been trying to get him to follow the school dress code since Thursday when he decided to abandon it.
"Tch, shut the hell up nerd. I don't need that stupid fucking tie." He growled. His always hated wearing a tie, ever since we were little and his mom forced him to wear one to a dinner his parents were hosting and all the other kids made fun of him.
I just sighed, admitting defeat. He smirked before gesturing for me to lead the way down the hall. I rolled my eyes, grabbing my bag from the floor, and walking out the door. He came up behind me, wrapped an arm around my shoulders, but stayed quiet. Once we made it down to the common area, he steered us through the living room. A couple of students were sitting around, including Kiri and Kami.
I couldn't help but sneak a glance at the two of them. I'll admit it, I may have developed a crush on each of them. Not that it matters, they aren't my mates. Even if they were, I wouldn't say anything, at least not until we all graduate and I'm not sworn to secrecy. If they knew, at all, they could be in just as much danger as me. I'm a liability.
I felt a little giddy when I looked at them, and caught them staring at me. Kacchan noticed, pulled me closer to him and dropped his arm around my waist, then smirked when they shot him angry glares. I don't know why, I just wear a confused expression while the whole thing went down.
We eventually make it to the front doors and head to the main campus building. We've been walking together since Thursday, each of us a little upset about the first three days of school, and we both tend to get to class early. Once we get to class we take our seats and start some comfortable small talk. It lasts all of three minutes, before Kacchan's face turns serious. I give him a questioning glance.
"Deku, I need you to promise to stay away from Kirishima and Kaminari." He says. I'm really confused at this point. What does he have against them? I know there was a couple of misunderstandings last week, but we cleared all that up, and all three of them seemed to be getting along again, so what happened?
"What? Kacchan, why? Aren't they your friends?" I asked him. He let out a sigh, rubbing his hand down his face. I've never seen him like this before. I started to get worried.
"Just, please distance yourself. Someone's gonna get hurt, and I don't want it to be you." Was the only cryptic answer he gave me. I shook my head at him.
"I can't Kacchan. They're my friends now, I can't just turn my back on them because you say so." I said stubbornly. I really like them, as friends and otherwise, I'm not going to ignore them now.
"Deku, I'm serious. You can't keep hanging out with them. You can't do this, it's going to end up in flames." He was getting more frustrated, but so was I. If he can't give me a good reason, I'm not even going to listen to him.
"No. I'm not doing it until you tell me why, probably not even them. You can't tell me who I'm allowed to hang out with, you're not my father." I said, crossing my arms and looking away from him like a five year old, but I didn't care. He does not get to dictate my life.
"God damn it Izuku, fucking listen to me! If you keep doing this to them, you're all going to end up with a lot of pain. I'm just trying to help. All three of you." He pleaded. Now I was even more curious.
"What am I doing?" I asked confused. I can't remember doing anything to hurt them at all. I don't know what Kacchan's talking about.
"Fucking Jesus Deku, they like you idiot, and if you keep being around them, it's going to get worse. All of you have mates, hell you have two, so you can't do this. It's going to fuck your life, theirs, and all of your mates. Do you get it now?" He huffed. My eyes were opened wide in shock. They... Like me? That's impossible. But if they did... Kacchan's right, no matter how happy my heart is at hearing they do.
We stayed in an awkward silence until other students started to filter in. When Kiri and Kami walked in together, I kept my head down and avoided looking. When I quickly looked back at them, they were giving each other a questioning look, then turning to Bakugou. Uh oh, I think they figured out that Kacchan told me about they're crush.
Class flew by, I didn't pay attention to any of it, I was to busy thinking about the mess I was now in. I know Kacchan's right, but... I don't know, it feels wrong to ignore them? If that makes any sense. I'm probably just being an idiot. I need to listen to Kacchan, he really is just looking out for all three of us.
Once lunch ended and we were all back in our seats, Mr. Aizawa announced that our hero costumes were finally here. He also said that we would start some basic training with All Might. Seconds later a big gust of air rushed into the room with the voice of my mentor exclaiming 'I am here!'.
After All Might explained the simple quirk tests we'd be doing, not to different from the ones we did the first day, we were sent to the locker rooms to change into our costumes. I stuck close to Kacchan, feeling very anxious of changing in front of all the other boys in class. Not just about my body, I had to be extra careful with all of my marks. I quickly changed in a shower stall while Kacchan changed outside, stay close enough to the door to keep an eye on it. Once I was ready for training, I walked out and joined him. Both of our suites covered our marks.
We heard some commotion coming from the other side of the lockers and made our way over to see what was wrong. We heard people congratulating someone about finding their mate. They're so lucky! I wonder who it is?
"No fucking way." Kacchan whispered. I gave him a confused look. He was slightly taller than me, so he could see over the other people, where I couldn't. I pushed past the others, wanting to know who was lucky enough to find their mates.
When I got to the front, I saw Kiri and Kami looking at each other's chests in amazement. I nearly pass out looking at their marks.
On the right side of their chest, was a red chrysanthemum and their left freesia. On their wrist was a dainty green daisy.
