ch. XXIV -- Harry... He's dead...

As per usual when she didn't need to be the one who actually was running after trainees or Merlin, Sophie could just slow down and return to do stuff at her own pace.

That day, when agent Galahad walked into the tailor shop to see Merlin, she didn't know that she's seeing him for the last time.

"Good day, sir." Sophie had greeted him.

"Morning, miss Richards." He answered and walked up to dining hall to get more details on his mission.

"Important mission?" Sophie asked folding fabrics.

"Very." Galahad answered walking upstairs but stopped for a second hearing girl's voice .

"Good luck, sir." Sophie smiled at him.

"Thank you, Elizabeth." Harry answered and went up.

Never in her mind she thought that it was the last time she sees him. If Sophie had knew that, she was sure that the small talk previously would have ended differently.

She was still working on some designs, tracing sketches, making cut outs and searching for the best threads when there was ring from a bell above the entrance.

Sophie looked up and saw Eggsy. Why was he here?

For the first time in her life she saw him look like that. And the look he was wearing scared her. Of all the people on the world, she wanted to see those emotions on, Eggsy was the last person on her list.

Devastated, broken and utterly empty. As if there was nothing for him to have will to live for.

Sophie had seen that kind of emotions in herself twice in her life.

"What happened?" she asked, her mouth suddenly going dry.

Eggsy looked at her, took a step forward, searching for words.

"Where's Arthur?" he asked swallowing thickly.

"What. Happened?" Sophie asked and putted her work aside and walked around the table.

"Is he upstairs?" Eggsy asked blinking rapidly.

"Tell me what happened, please." Sophie asked her hands sliding out of her pockets. She wanted so bad to help Eggsy, but she didn't know how.

"Harry...he.." Eggsy started, unable to find words.

"No..." Sophie shook her head, her eyes furrowing at Eggsy.

"No. I saw him earlier." Sophie looked at Eggsy, not wanting to believe the man standing in front of her. Scared to think the worst.

"Richards... Harry's dead." Eggsy broke it down to her.

Sophie's eyes turned blank, tears gathering in them, her whole figure shaking.

"I don't believe you..." Sophie whispered, her lips trembling. With back of her hand she brushed away few tears that were unwillingly escaping her.

"I saw..." Eggsy took step closer to her, seeing that she needed someone as bad as he needed it.

"H-How..?" Sophie cried putting face in her hands. Maybe they can help him?

"Shot... in head.." Eggsy said barely above whisper and swallowing thickly.

"No.. I...I... how.. no, no..." Sophie raised her head to look at Eggsy.

"Oh, God...I'm so sorry..." Sophie whispered and almost run to hug Eggsy.

Holding each other, they stood in the middle of the tailor shop. Two broken and sad souls.

"I have to see Arthur." Eggsy murmured in her hair after a moment.

"He's is dining hall." Sophie sniffled and stepped away from Eggsy.

This is why she couldn't work in field. Her emotions took control of her body. Eggsy looked at her, seeing how much of his own emotions where reflecting in the brunette girl.

"Go on..." Sophie whispered and sniffled turning away, immediately regretting the fact that she so easily showed her emotions to Eggsy.

"Will you be alright?" Eggsy asked as he paused on stairs to look back at Sophie who was leaning against the counter top.

"Yeah.." came broken reply.

"Are you sure?" He asked again.

Why was he asking that, she should be doing that.

"I need to see Merlin. Go, Arthur's up there." Sophie shook her arms and turned to leave for Fitting Room One.

Still looking after her ,Eggsy slowly made his way up to dining hall.
