Chapter 16- New Relationships (Part 2)

Weronika was keen to get fashion advice from Amethyst. The girl might be intimidating but she has amazing fashion sense.

Weronika pulled out a green dress with a fluffy belt attached. "It looked nice on the model."

Amethyst scowled and shook her head. She looked like she was trying to get a bad taste out of her mouth. "Why? Whoever designed that needs to burn in fashion H*ll."

Weronika threw it back in the bag. "Ok, no to that."

Weronika pulled out a yellow dress with small white floral patterns on the sleeves. She held it up anxiously. "What about this one?"

Amethyst glanced at it half heartedly, but her eyes widened when she fully took it in. Images of her mother baking cookies in her long yellow dress filled Amethyst's mind.

A woman with long flowing hair, almost as long as her sunflower yellow dress called out. "Nuga kukileul wonhabnikka?"

A little girl with a bob cut, wearing a pastel pink dress ran into the kitchen, smiling brightly. Her smile was made more adorable by the fact that she was missing two teeth.  "Naleul! Naneun modeun kukileul wonhanda!"

The woman laughed, her eyes sparkling. She gently pinched the little girl's cheeks. She picked up a freshly baked cookie and gave it to the girl.

The little girl grinned happily and shoved the cookie in her mouth.

"Amethyst?", asked a worried Weronika. "Amethyst, are you ok?"

Amethyst snapped out of it and looked at a concerned Weronika. "What did you say?"

"Uh, what do you think about this dress? Shall I return it?"

Amethyst shook her head. "No. Don't. It's beautiful."

Kennedy was actually a lot of fun, something Camryn was sceptical about.

"And then the man goes 'you can't eat that in here'. So I ate it right outside his shop! He couldn't complain about me being in the shop then", laughed Kennedy, making Leonie and Camryn laugh.

"I was in the corner laughing so much, I actually started crying!", added Leonie, tears starting to form in her eyes now from all the laughing.

Camryn laughed. "Wow. It's never a dull day with you two, is it?"

"Nope!", smiled Kennedy. "Oh I meant to ask, how are you feeling about being Olivia?"

Camryn sighed. "Honestly? I'm really nervous. I've got the singing part down and I can kind of dance. But I don't think I'll be able to act well."

Kennedy shook her head. "That's a load of nonsense! You'll be great! You just need to practise."

"I don't even know where to start", said Camryn.

"What's a really important part of writing a song?", asked Leonie.

"Uh, to me, I think you have to be able to tell a story", said Camryn. "Each verse, every component of the song needs to tell your story."

"Well, acting's like that", said Leonie. "You immerse yourself in that character, in that story", said Leonie, before looking at Kennedy. "I'm not the best actress at all but most of what I know is from Kennedy."

Kennedy smiled. "Yeah. If Leonie can learn so can you."

"Oi!", exclaimed Leonie, nudging Kennedy and making her laugh. "Oh! I have an idea!"

"What is it?", asked Leonie.

"Let's make up a character for Camryn, and she has to stay in that character", said Leonie.

Camryn shook her head. "No, I don't th-"

"- It'll be fun!", exclaimed Kennedy.

"I'll do it too if you like?", suggested Leonie.

Camryn sighed, knowing she wasn't going to win. "Ok, fine."

Camryn's character was an old lady called Sheila who thinks her cats have gone missing in the Café.

Camryn stood up, her palms starting to sweat. She took a deep breath and bent over a little and acted like she was holding a walking stick. She made her way over to the counter and spoke, in the best old lady voice she could muster. "I say, dear... you haven't seen my cats anywhere have you?"

The waitress stared ar Camryn, a perplexed expression on her face. "Uh, your... your cats?"

Camryn nodded. "Yes, dear. Hugo, Edmund, Charles and Bon-Bon."

Back at the table, Leonie and Kennedy were doing everything in their power to hold back their laughter.

Camryn's next move pushed them over the edge though. Quite theatrically, Camryn yelled. "HUGO! OH BON-BON! OH, SATAN HIMSELF HAS CAPTURED MY BABIES! EDMUND!"

By this time, the waitress had sort of caught on, but to Camryn, Leonie and Kennedy's surprise- she played along!

The waitress knelt down on the floor and looked in some cupboards. "Charles! Hugo! Where are you?"

If that wasn't enough to make Leonie and Kennedy laugh, some other people in the Café joined in and soon enough, the Café erupted into screams of the names Hugo, Charles, Edmund and Bon-Bon.

Camryn burst out laughing when she saw Kennedy doubled over and Leonie on the floor, tears of laughter rolling down their faces. When Leonie saw Camryn, she gave her a thumbs up, which made Camryn smile.

When Camryn returned, Kennedy and Leonie held their hands out for high fives.

"Beautiful acting, Camryn!", smiled Kennedy, adding a Chef's kiss at the end.

Camryn smiled and as if by magic, both Kennedy and Camryn turned to Leonie, devilish grins on their faces.

"What? Oh no...wait, can we discuss this!"

Camryn shook her head. "Nope!"

"I have the perfect one for you! It's not exactly acting but... you have to walk around on your hands for the rest of the day", suggested Kennedy.

"And tomorrow", added Camryn.

Kennedy smiled. "Ooh, I like the way you think Camryn!"

Leonie groaned. "I regret my entire existence right now."

This was a *hopefully* funny little chapter, but it's still relevant to the plot.

Which friendship are you most excited to see? Or do you like all of them?

What friendship surprised you?
