"stop the flying balls!" (Part 2)
Snowballs flew across the courtyard like they had been fired out of cannons. Stanley threw his snowball at Eli, clapping when he fell to the ground.
"Babysitter down!", exclaimed Stanley, before high-fiving Darius.
"I'm so glad I'm on your side", said Maxon.
"Less talking more kílling!", yelled Amethyst.
Amethyst gathered all the snowballs she had made and blindly threw them, not caring about who they hit.
"Ow!", cried out Eli.
Amethyst smirked.
"Pay more attention, pretty boy!"
Isaac hid behind a bush, hurrying to form enough snowballs to protect himself.
Frantic footsteps made Isaac cover his face.
A hand was placed on his shoulder.
"Isaac!
Here, let me help", said Weronika.
Isaac breathed a sigh of relief, icy breath forming in the air.
"Weronika!
I'm so happy to see you."
She grinned.
"Come on, I'll cover for you!"

Maxon slowly edged towards Kennedy, who was on her rampant injuring spree.
He threw snowballs at her, knocking both out of her hands.
Kennedy looked up at Maxon, and her face softened.
"You got me... wow."
Maxon chuckled.
"It wasn't easy."
"I'm impressed."
Maxon shrugged.
"Yeah, well I dabble in snowball throwing."
Leonie gasped.
"Oh no!
Her signature move!
Maxon, ru-"
Kennedy brandished three fresh snowballs from behind her back.
Maxon's eyes widened.
"How the héll?"
Leonie exhaled sharply as Maxon ran back to the others.
"Right.
She's playing dirty.
EVERYONE GET BEHIND ME!"
Leonie stepped forward and spread her arms out.
"Snowball me up."
Her group passed the snowballs to her, and she hurled them at Kennedy. Kennedy threw some back, before turning her attention to the other group.
Kennedy threw a snowball towards Isaac.
"No!", exclaimed Weronika, before throwing her body in front of Isaac's.
Eli gathered more snow.
"BEGONE SPIRIT!
RELEASE MY FRIEND!", he yelled, kicking snow at Kennedy.
Kennedy covered her face and wildly threw a snowball, which landed on Darius' shoulder.
Stanley clenched his fists and beat his chest.
"RAAAWRGHAAR!"
Stanley hurled snowballs at Kennedy and kicked snow at her at the same time.
"Gucci Gods, help us!", exclaimed Amethyst, hiding behind Leonie.
Camryn threw her beanie on the ground.
"Right.
Your tyranny ends here!"
Camryn scooped up snow and threw it at Kennedy.
"Regroup, regroup!"
Both groups joined forces and placed their snowballs in front of them.
In their haste, some snowballs rolled towards the centre of the battleground.
"No!", cried out Amethyst.
Darius squinted his eyes at the snowballs.
"I'm going in!"
Stanley grabbed Darius' shoulders.
"You can't!"
"She's fast as héll", said Camryn.
"You'll never make it!"
Darius looked at his friends.
He exhaled softly.
"Remember me, my friends."
Darius clenched his fists and stared at the snowballs, then at Kennedy, then at the snowballs again.
"I WILL LIVE OR DIE A LEGEND!"
Stanley wiped his eyes.
"That was beautiful."
"It was like poetry", said Eli.
Darius grabbed the snowballs, cradling them in his arms.
Kennedy honed in on his crouching body, and whipped out five snowballs.
"Wait, no!", yelled Leonie.
She surged forward and dived in front of Darius, taking the full impact of all the snowballs.
"NO!", screamed Camryn.
Darius held Leonie's hand.
"Leonie?"
"I've been hit", she whispered.
"Woman down, woman down!", exclaimed Stanley.
Camryn held Leonie's other hand.
"You sacrificed yourself."
Leonie chuckled.
"It's been an honour."
Kennedy threw her arms in the air. "Are we gonna carry on or-"
Kennedy was cut off by a snowball colliding with her back.
It wasn't enough to seriously hurt her, but it was definitely enough to stop her in her tracks.
As Kennedy fell to the ground, the mystery person was revealed.
"Miss Laine?", they said in unison.
Miss Laine smiled.
"I love a good snowball fight."

Maxon and Kennedy walked home together.
"I'm sorry about before", she apologised.
"It was probably scary seeing me like that."
"I'm not gonna lie, it was.
If it's cool with you, do you mind telling me why you almost kílled us all?"
Kennedy chuckled.
"I don't know.
I was always so stressed with worrying about my siblings.
The first time we had a snowball fight, I didn't have to worry about protecting them because the worst that could happen was that they'd get hit with snow.
I didn't feel any pressure.
I could just have fun."
Maxon nodded.
"I get that."
"But I took it too far.
Trust me to find a way to make a snowball fight serious."
Maxon wrapped an arm around her. "Hey, it's alright.
It was fun.
Maybe you'd have more fun if you were a part of a team?"
Kennedy nodded.
"You know what?
I think I would."
