Twelve

      "I'm sorry."

"W-What?" Evan looked in shock to the actor who played Heather Duke, Eric, and Jared moved closer to Evan defensively.

"Who put you up to this?" Jared grumbled, holding Evan's shoulders tight in the back of the auditorium.

"Myself. I mean, no one. Will's an asshole and he practically... raped you, Evan. You're a good kid, and a really good singer. I feel terrible for helping him..." Eric scratched the back of his head awkwardly. Jared's hands fell from Evan's shoulders, looking to Eric with an almost smile.

     "R-Really?"

"Yea... I'll try to keep him away from you. He owes me one, anyways." Eric mumbled the last part, blushing a little bit as he frowned at the ground.

"Thank you. It... It means a lot to me." Evan smiled, Connor's voice yelling in the background as he was doing student directing. Eric took a step closer to Evan, the boy jumping a little but managing to calm himself down.

"No problem... I'd love to... Go out with you sometime."

"Oh, no no no.... No. I mean, I-I'm really so-sorry I k-kinda have a b-boyfriend?" Evan blushed as he back further away. Eric but his lip but managed an embarrassed smile.

"Sorry! I... I didn't know! I'll just... Bye. Sorry." Eric ran off, Jared pulling Evan in the opposite direction.

       "Well, he was cute."

"Connor's cuter." Evan mumbled, sitting in the front row next to where Connor was standing. He watched in awe as he managed to yell lazily at a group of students playing the ensemble in a bunch of different dances. The boy would demonstrate the dances, then the ensemble would repeat it back. Evan would laugh a little if Connor tripped because he was engulfed in looking through the script. Connor turned around to Evan's giggling, seeing the boy behind him and smiling. He became more confident in giving orders, trying to impress Evan a little with his directing.

"Good job, Murphy. Will, can you direct the blocking for Dead Girl Walking? That one always looks a little shaky." Connor's face turned white as he nearly fell back into the seat behind him. Evan stood up to grip his hand, reassuring him with a weak smile.

"I'll be okay." He whispered close to Connor, kissing the side of his face as they walked onto the raised platform on stage. The music started playing, Evan standing almost confidently at the side while the lyrics played overhead. He felt better since he didn't have to sing, just move to the music.

"I'm a dead girl walking." The soundtrack played for the second time, signaling Evan to start climbing up to Connor. He climbed on top of him slowly, pining him in between his legs.

"Connor, put your hands on Evan there... No, move them over. There." Evan squeezed his eyes shut as Connor's hands grazed over old bruises. He gasped as Connor winced, quickly moving his hands lower. There was an obvious sigh from Will, followed by a grunt from the group of Rich, Jake, and Jared. Evan started taking Connor's shirt off carefully, throwing it aside. Connor did the same, going slow to make sure it was okay.

"Get it together Murphy. Faster, his shirt should be on the ground by now." Will said snakily as he enjoyed watching Connor try to control his anger. Evan shuddered as his shirt came off, feeling conscious of his body in front of the cast.

"I noticed that shudder, Ev. Make sure that doesn't happen again." Evan whimpered, starting to rock his hips to Connor as the purely instrument part of the song played.

"How many times do I have to tell you? Move your damn hands, Connor." Will yelled, causing Connor to jump and move his hands on Evan. Evan felt his fingers brush over a large mark and he yelped, moving off of Connor for a second. He tried to get back on top of him without anyone noticing, but he heard a hushed murmur from the audience.

"Is Connor hurting you Evan? Should we get his understudy?" Evan was fuming. He ignored Will's comment and instead started to grind harder on Connor, finishing the last bit of the song and the lights cutting. Both boys were panting a little bit, and Evan noticed he had gotten aroused during the song. Connor pulled him off stage while it was still pitch black, as soon as they were in the dark he kissed Evan deeply. Evan reached up to hold Connor's face in his hands, prompting him to go further.

"That... Fucking asshole. I didn't mean to do any of that."

"Doesn't matter. I'm fine." Evan said in between kisses, pushing Connor to the wall as he kissed him with passion. He swiped his tongue against Connor's lower lip, giving him allowance to stick his tongue into Connor's mouth. He wanted to prove he could handle it, to himself and Connor, and silently to Will. He was done with being the weak boy that everyone felt they needed to protect. Connor moaned as Evan ran his hand down his chest to the hem of his jeans.

"W-We can't do this here." Connor mumbled, seeing Evan frown but hold tight onto Connor's hand.

"I'm sorry. I got ahead of myself a-and didn't realize-" Connor cut him off with a kiss, smiling and walking with him back on stage. An applause sounded causing the boys to blush, quickly getting off the stage.

"Evan I swear I'll beat him up bad if you want me too." Jake whispered, a nod of agreement coming from Rich and Jared.

"N-Nah, he's not going to change. I think he knows his place n-now..." Evan managed a smile as Jared hugged him with tears in his eyes.

"I'm so proud of you. I'm always here for you, Ev." Jared whispered, Evan hugging him back tight. He pulled away to fumble with his jeans, trying to conceal somewhat of a boner.

"Connor, i-it's cold." Evan motioned to his sweatshirt, Connor looking him up and down and noticing the subtle difference in his pants. He took of his sweatshirt quickly, giving it to Evan so he could wear it and fold the fabric over his crotch. A blush appeared on Connor's cheeks, but nevertheless he put his arm lazily around Evan's shoulders and kissed the side of his face. Evan managed a smile giggle, holding Connor's hand as they watched the end of the rehearsal play out. Alana performed Kindergarten Boyfriend nearly perfect, earning a loud cheer from Zoe in the band pit. As soon as the director said they could leave, Evan grabbed Connor's hand to run out the auditorium and to his house close by. He slammed the door behind them as he looked to Connor with a new expression evident on his face.

"I-I want you... To... Take me..."
