9.) Into the Dorms
You finally get to meet her kitties!
It's been a few days since Bakugo was rescued. Kivi aggravatedly gets up, having enough. She can't concentrate with the large burst of energy that is pounding her skull. That annoyance is completely centered around Bakugo. She takes a train where Bakugo lives and walks to his house where he is currently held. She walks up to the surprisingly large house and rings the doorbell. Kivi puts on the biggest and fakest smile she can muster as the door is answered.
"Hello," a woman answers that looks exactly like Bakugo.
"Whoa, I didn't know Bakugo had a twin," Kivi voices before she can think.
The woman grins with a bashful laugh. "I like you. No, I'm Katsuki's mom. Are you a classmate of his?"
"Oh, uh, yes. I'm Quacchio Kivi. Please, call me Kivi."
"Ah, you're that new transfer student that helped save my boy. correct?"
"That's me. Do you mind if I take, uh, Katsuki out?"
Her eyes suddenly shine. "Katsuki! A pretty girl is here to take you out on a date!"
"What the fuck?!"
Kivi's eyes widen. "No, no, no! Not a date!"
Bakugo stomps up to the door angrily, but what else is new? His angry face shifts into confusion. "Blueberry?"
"You busy, Pommi?"
"What do you fucking want?"
"Watch your fucking language!" his mom yells, smacking the back of his head.
"Ow! That hurt you old hag!"
"Old hag?!"
"Your pent-up energy is starting to piss me off," Kivi admits, interrupting before they go further. "We're going out. As long as that's okay with you, ma'am?"
"I can trust you to protect him," she smiles. "Go ahead."
"Thank you," Kivi says, gripping Bakugo's wrist and tugging him down the road.
"Let me go you damn blueberry!"
"Come on. You have pent-up energy that you need to get rid of," Kivi says, continuing to tug him down the street.
"Where are you taking me?!"
"To an open area. We're going to fight."
"Fuck yeah!"
"No quirks," Kivi says as they find an empty park.
They each get on opposing sides.
"Fine with me! As long as I get to kick your ass!"
"I will be the one kicking ass. You'll be the one getting his ass kicked," Kivi smirks. "And fight."
And true to her word, she manages to repeatedly slam him on his back. Over and over and over and over.
"Goddammit! How do you keep doing that?!" he angrily shouts from the ground, slamming his right fist on the grass repeatedly.
Kivi smirks, plopping down to sit next to him. "I thought you caught on quickly? I've been using the same move to take you down every time I've landed you flat on your back."
"How are you so fucking good at this?" he groans, draping an arm across his eyes.
Kivi looks to the ground sadly, bringing her legs up to her chest and wrapping her arms around them. "My parents are the top two heroes of France. They have trained me in every possible way there is with and without quirks." It's silent for a few moments. "You ready for another round?"
...
Kivi is currently in the luxury penthouse her parents bought for her when she moved to Japan. They are the top two heroes of France after all. Currently, she's relaxing with five of her cats loitered around on the couch with her. One cat, her first cat, is curled on her lap, purring away as she pets him. She's watching the news before her, all chattering about All Might retiring.
The doorbell to the penthouse rings and she lets out an annoyed sigh. "Alright, Loki. I gotta get up so you gotta move." He gives her an annoyed look as she stops petting him. "Sorry." She scoops him up and places him where she sat before she heads to the door. The door bell rings again. "I'm coming dammit just hold on!" She opens the door and surprise crosses her features for a split second. "Aizawa. All Might. Uh, come in. What are you two here for?"
"We came to talk with your parents," Aizawa says.
"Well, I'm sorry to tell you, but my parents live in France," she tells them, leading them into the house. "Thought you knew that?"
They marvel at the large fancy place.
"You live here alone?" All Might asks.
"Not exactly," Kivi answers as a cat walks by and up to Aizawa. The cat gives him a few sniffs before rubbing against his leg. "Seems she likes you. You have cats?"
"Two," Aizawa answers.
"Fitting," Kivi replies. "Her name is Mew."
"So you live here with your cat?" All Might asks.
"Cats. I live here with my cats," she replies. "I was forced to come here, so I forced them to let me have all my cats. And here we are. Anyway, what are the two of you here for anyway?"
"We want to ask you to move into the new school dorms," Aizawa says, petting Mew, who's now in his arms. "The school can protect you better."
"I don't need the school's protection," Kivi scoffs. "I can protect myself just fine."
"We know your quirk is powerful," All Might explains. "After The League of Villains trying to kidnap you failed, we'd rather you be at the school."
"And what?" she scoffs, moving to sit over on the couch. "You'll protect me like you did last time? I protected myself and all the others by myself. None of the teachers helped. Why should I leave this glorious penthouse for a tiny dorm?" She throws her hands up gesturing to the penthouse around her. "Especially if I have to be around my annoying classmates more than I have to."
The two pro heroes remain behind the couch, closer to the kitchen. Both only aware of one cat at the moment. Loki disappears around a corner, catching the attention of the two as he goes. Loki hates other people.
"You can bring your cats," Aizawa says, setting Mew down. "As long as they stay in your room."
She gives him a smug smile as she turns to look at them. "I have 10 cats." Surprise crosses both their faces as she chuckles. "They can't stay all together. They get pissy. The only way you'll get me to stay at the dorms is if one whole floor is mine. A room that takes up the whole floor. Nobody can come up to my floor unless I allow them."
"That'd be unfair to the other students," Aizawa sighs agitatedly.
Kivi gives a shrug and turns back to the tv. "Then I'm staying right here."
The two heroes sigh, giving each other a look.
"Another thing is you'd be expelled from the school if you don't," Aizawa lies.
Kivi once again shrugs, immediately coming up with a lie. "Then I'll just go to another UA. Maybe America will let me join. It'll be a shame for if I graduate from this UA it'll gain more recognition. As I'm sure you both know exactly who my parents are."
All Might sighs. "Why don't we just do it? It's not like Cementoss can't easily make another floor."
"And you know exactly why we can't," Aizawa retorts, looking back to Kivi. "And you know exactly why you won't be attending another school if you mess up here."
Damn. "I can pay you the money if you want," Kivi says. "Just make the floor and I can pay people to do the rest for me. I already pay a couple cat sitters to come clean my cat's things so this place never smells bad..."
Aizawa sighs. "I'll have to ask the Principal..." he grumbles, pulling out his phone.
All Might shuffles around the couch to sit before seeing the four cats on the couch. "So, I've seen six of your cats. Where're the others?" He pets the one nearest him who purrs at his touch.
"I don't know. Those four are usually all over. Hades and Lucifer are probably sleeping upstairs," Kivi thinks. "They like to take up the whole bed. They'll probably be down here soon. They're very curious about people they haven't met yet. Dusk and Jinx usually come when called."
"That's right, I heard about Dusk from Aizawa. Who was the one that scampered away?"
"Oh, that was Loki," she shrugs. "He doesn't like others. He only likes me. Hates people and cats. He tolerates Mew though. She was my second cat."
"Huh."
Kivi looks at his arm. "I can heal you if you want. I can't promise your quirk but..."
"Sure," he nods. "Recovery Girl can only do so much."
Kivi places her hands on his arm and heals it. "It'll be a little sore still, but the sling should be good off in a few hours."
"Thanks." He's silent for a moment. "Kivi, we need to talk whenever we have time. All for One told me something about you."
Kivi flinches. "I-I'd rather not."
He gives her a pointed look, and they both sigh.
Aizawa walks up, rubbing his eyes. "Nezu says as long as you pay for it and give the school a large donation."
"Cool," Kivi says. "So, when can I move in?"
A loud thump comes from the second floor of the penthouse, making Aizawa and All Might on edge. A second loud thump comes right after.
"What was that?" Aizawa questions, hair raised and out of its ponytail.
"Don't worry. It's just my cats, Hades and Lucifer," Kivi says, standing up from the couch. "They heard your voices and want to investigate."
"Did they knock something over or what?" All Might asks.
She looks at them confused. "No? That was just them jumping off the bed."
"What?!" They look at her incredulously.
Aizawa's hair drops back to his normal hair style, looking to her with as much surprise as his face actually musters.
Hades begins to make his way down the swirled staircase, making the two teacher's eyes widen. Lucifer follows shortly after.
"Yeah, there's another reason why I need more space," Kivi smirks, walking up to the two cats as they finish coming downstairs. They curl into her hands as she pets them. "Meet Hades and Lucifer."
...
Class 1-A is gathered in front of the new dorms, waiting for Aizawa to arrive. Kivi was the last to arrive with two large, solid force field balls following behind her, one carrying Hades and the other containing Lucifer. She didn't want anyone to see inside of them, so she practiced to make them solid just for this. It takes a lot of extra energy and concentration to succeed in keeping it solid.
"Didn't you send all your stuff ahead of time?" Ochaco asks.
"I did," Kivi replies. "These are more important things I couldn't send ahead."
"U-uh, okay..."
Aizawa walks out of the dorm building and stands in front of the class. "Given everything that has happened," Aizawa begins. "I'm glad we were able to bring class 1-A back together."
"So we all got the go ahead to move on campus," tape boy says.
"It took a lot of convincing for my parents..." invisible girl sighs.
"I was pretty concerned about mine," earjack girl says.
Wow, I really need to learn their names... Kivi thinks.
"Now then, I'll explain how your dorm assignments will work shortly," Aizawa says, clapping his hands once. "First however... we haven't forgotten about the provisional licenses that you were supposed to get during the training camp." Everyone mumbles saying they totally forgot about that given what's happened. "This is important. Kirishima, Yaoyorozu, Todoroki, Midoriya, Iida, you five are the ones that broke the rules and went to rescue Bakugo that night. Kivi, you went completely on your own."
"Ribbit..."
Aizawa sighs. "Based on your reactions, I assume the rest of you were at least aware of their plan. Except Kivi's. Kivi we need to talk."
"Tch'. Yeah, whatever," Kivi rolls her eyes.
"I'm gonna set aside a number of issues for this," Aizawa says threateningly. "If it weren't for All Might's retirement, I would expel everyone here except Bakugo, Jiro, and Hagakure. The ones of you who went of course but also the remaining ones who didn't stop them. You betrayed our trust. Even if it was to keep your friends from getting into trouble. In order to regain our confidence, you'll need to obey every rule to the letter and live as model students." He turns, walking towards the dorms. "Now, look alive. Enjoy your new home."
Kivi follows behind him, pulling her solid bubble shields behind her. Everyone who didn't notice before, definitely does now. They all look curiously at the use of her quirk. Everyone's attention is quickly moved on to stupid electric boy's idiot side after using all his quirk.
"Let's all go out to eat tonight, on me!" Kirishima shouts.
Kivi pauses beside Aizawa and they watch the class have fun.
"Are your cats in those force fields?" Aizawa asks.
"Obviously," Kivi answers. "It's not like I could send them ahead with the other cats."
They all enter the building.
"Each student dormitory holds one class. Girls are on the right and boys are on the left," Aizawa begins to explain as they walk inside. "The entire first floor is a common area. That's where you'll find your kitchen, and bath, and laundry rooms."
Each student lets out some sound of awe. Ochaco ends up passing out, saying 'I'm living in a mansion.'
"Uraraka!" Iida shouts worriedly.
Mineta voices pervy thoughts about the baths.
"They're separated by gender, and you'll behave yourself," Aizawa growls.
"Yes sir..." Mineta sweats.
"Living quarters start on the next floor. Four boys and four girls on each level. Everyone gets their own room. You should be comfortable. You got your own AC, toilets, fridges, and closets."
Kivi looks around boredly. "Boring..."
"These are your dorm assignments," Aizawa says. "The belongings you sent ahead have already been placed in your rooms, so use the day for unpacking and getting settled. I'll tell you more about your next few lessons tomorrow. For now, get to work."
"Yes, Mr. Aizawa," everyone says.
Aizawa hands Kivi five card passes as everyone moves to look at where their rooms are.
"These are passes to head to your room," Aizawa sighs. "You scan this in the elevator to be able to get to your floor. Choose whoever you want to be able to head to your floor. That's what the extras are for."
Kivi nods, taking them. "Do you have one?"
"In case of an emergency," Aizawa nods. "Yes. As do the rest of the staff."
"Good," Kivi says. "Also, am I able to get more passes when needed?"
"Most likely," Aizawa replies.
Kivi nods satisfied. Aizawa leaves, leaving the students to themselves.
"Kivi-san, I don't see your name listed," Iida says.
"That's because the whole 6th floor is my room," Kivi smirks.
"What?!" everyone shouts. "That's not fair!"
"I paid and made a donation to the school," Kivi shrugs. "Besides there's a good reason for why I need a bigger living space than all of you." She leaves to the elevator, giving them all a smug expression with a wave as the doors close behind her. She drops the force fields and her cats immediately nuzzle into her hands. "Sorry for keeping you two in there for so long. Want to give everyone a fun surprise."
~~~
Kivi comes downstairs, regretfully, to check out the laundry machines only to get caught up by the others.
"The girls and I have been talking and–" pinky begins but is cut off by invisible girl.
"We have a great idea!" invisible girl cheers.
"Let's go around and see who has the coolest rooms!" pinky finishes.
And that was how they all ended up in Midoriya's room. His room, everywhere you look, is just All Might merchandise.
Kivi ends up being dragged to each of the boys' rooms. She liked Tokoyami's the most so far.
"Koda, right?" Kivi questions the shark headed looking animal lover.
He flinches in surprise and nervousness. "Y-yeah..."
"I'd recommend you to keep your bunny in your room," Kivi tells him. "I don't want him to be eaten or something."
His eyes widen in fright and shuffles away from her.
Mineta eventually gets the boys to have the girls show their rooms too. It turns into a competition for who's room is the best. They all go through everyone's rooms except Bakugo, Mineta, frog girl, and Kivi's.
"Alright, Kivi-san, you're next!" pinky says.
"No," Kivi immediately replies.
"Aww! Come on!" everyone begs.
"Yeah, we wanna see why you have a whole floor to yourself!" red boy huffs.
She suddenly smirks, thinking of Hades and Lucifer. "Alright, just don't get scared when they run at you."
All their faces suddenly change to all sorts of expressions.
"W-what do you mean by that?" Ochaco stutters.
Kivi grins maliciously. "Don't come if you're too scared." She walks off to the elevator. The class hesitantly shuffles into the elevator behind her. "Hades and Lucifer can get quite rough when they want to." She scans her card. "Living with them is definitely interesting. Keeps one on their toes."
"Hades and Lucifer?!" the class cries right as the elevator closes. Now everyone is trapped with the thought they're going to meet their doom by the main devils. Vivid images all cross their minds. No wonder Kivi is so devilish! She lives with two!
The elevator takes them to the top floor and the doors open.
The students look around in awe. A few cats move around to greet them or steer clear of the large group.
Covering the walls and ceiling are all sorts of cat furniture and toys.
"Whoa!" the class gasps.
"I need a lot of room because I have 10 cats," Kivi explains.
The wildcat they all met at camp comes to them. Her Bengal, Jinx, follows to greet them.
"Hi again, Dusk!" Izuku exclaims, bending down to pet him.
"You must really love cats, Kivi-san!" invisible girl says.
Jinx moves up to Shoto and rubs against his fire side, soaking in the warmth. Shoto bends down to pet her.
"Whoa! That cat is huge!" tape elbows exclaims, pointing at Phantom who's a Maine Coon.
"Why would we be scared of cats?" electric boy scoffs.
Two loud thumps cut the class off.
"That is why you should be scared," Kivi says. "That was Hades and Lucifer." Using her quirk, she turns the lights off, causing a few to squeal.
The class' eyes widen as large as dinner plates as the two big cats head down the stairs. The only thing they can see are the large shadows moving towards them.
"Get me outta here!" electric boy cries out, rushing to the elevator.
Kivi snickers as she turns the lights back on. "Everyone meet Hades and Lucifer."
It's safe to say, Kivi won the competition.
~~~
Ochaco asked for Kivi, Izuku, Momo, Shoto, Iida, and red head boy to come outside with her. They all follow to find the frog girl waiting outside.
"So, uh," red head stutters out. "Where are we going?"
"Right here," Ochaco says. "Tsu said she had something she wanted to tell everyone."
"You guys know I'm pretty straightforward and always speak what's on my mind," Tsu begins chokingly. "But sometimes I don't know... I'm at a loss... Remember what I said back at the hospital? When you were talking about the rescue?"
They all think back to it.
"Yeah," Izuku nods. "Every word."
"My heart was hurting and the things I said must've upset you." Tsu looks down.
Ochaco moves close to her, placing a hand on her back. "It's okay, Tsu," she comforts.
"Despite my warning, you still went and saved Bakugo," Tsu whispers. "I didn't know that until this morning. I thought I stopped you, but it turns out I was worthless. A complete failure... And suddenly I had no idea what to say... I didn't think I deserved to joke around and have fun with everyone like usual. But... it made me so sad to be without you. That's why I wanted to talk to you. Even if I'm not sure of how I'm supposed to feel. I wanted you to know so we can hang out and talk again." She wipes her eyes with a few silent sobs. "Ribbit..."
"It's not just you who thinks that. Everyone felt pretty bad and wanted things to be how they used to be before," Ochaco says. "That's why we did the room contest to bring us closer together and make us feel like a class again. It's all we could come up with so please don't try to think that we were tricking you or anything."
Kivi zones out for the rest of her speech. These guys are so overemotional. After everyone has said something, Kivi moves up to Tsu and gives her a one-armed hug. "Don't be so ridiculous. Nobody's blaming anyone for not coming to help. You did what you thought was right. It's okay to be afraid."
Kivi steps out of the hug, ignoring the surprised faces from the others. They didn't think she'd be affectionate.
Tsu sniffles. "T-thanks, Kivi-san."
"You're welcome. Now goodnight. It's been a long day."
