2 Taurus 2
(My apologies for the lack of updates on this story!)
Rain battered on the windows, echoing around the dimly lit room. Taurus slept in the center, on a small bed that Human had generously left unboxed. She didn't really care about the toys being boxed up. All she really wanted to do was sleep, so what was the point? She did feel bad for the others, but if only they weren't so annoying...
Pisces jabbed her in the side with a paw. Taurus sat up instantly, groaning. "What do you want, Pisces?"
"Human took all of our toys." Pisces pointed out. "I need someone to play with!"
"Go play with Libra or something." Taurus growled. "Leave me alooone!"
"Don't you want to play?"
"Too tired." Taurus yawned. She padded out of what used to be the bedroom to where Human kept the food bowl. Upon seeing the empty bowl, she sat down and meowed loudly. This normally got Human's attention, but today, he didn't respond.
Taurus sighed dramatically and pulled herself to her feet again. She padded down the hallway to where the stack of boxes was highest. That was where Leo and Aries liked to hang out.
She gasped when she noticed that the boxes were gone. Human had cleared them all out! Would they take her bed next? Where were they all going? Why was Human taking them?!
Gemini was nearby, washing her fur. She looked up when she saw Taurus. "Oh, hey."
"What happened to the boxes?" Taurus cried.
"Human loaded them into his monster and left." Gemini shrugged. "He'll be back."
"Are you sure?"
"Course I am." Gemini laughed. "Human didn't take everything— you still have your bed, do you not? Surely he'll come back for us and the bed."
Taurus shook her head, not believing her friend. Gemini was usually very smart, but how could she believe that their human would really come back? It was very obvious that he had found a new home somewhere, perhaps with new cats. And he'd left Taurus and her friends behind!
"What did Aries say about it?" Taurus asked. Aries was a good leader; if they had to go to the wild, he would surely be the best choice in leader. Leo wanted to be leader, but he was all bark and no bite.
Gemini rolled her eyes, "Ask him!"
"Where is he?" Taurus felt uneasy. What if Human really had abandoned them? Where would they go? Where would they sleep– what would they eat?
"Dunno, probably somewhere by the door. He and Scorpio were talking about escaping." Gemini's eyes lit up, "Want me to come with you to look?"
Taurus nodded, "Please."
And so the two bounced happily towards the door, where they did, in fact, find Aries. His paw was wedged in the crack under the door, and he was trying his best to pull the door open.
He looked up when they saw him, "There's some weird mechanism holding the doors shut. We need– we need something to break the glass in the window, then we could break free."
"Don't be making escape plans yet." Gemini warned, "Human is almost definitely coming back." But even as she said it, she sounded unsure. Aries ignored her warning and continued to tug at the door. Taurus turned away, her stomach churning. They were trapped inside, and Human wasn't coming back.
