I Know, Taurus, it's Still Sad

"Are you sure?"
"You're more than capable." Capricorn reassured her.
"Ehh..." Cancer said through her teeth.
"We live far away from any people, so we can just go up and down the street towards town. Nothing but fields. So you won't have to worry about other cars."
Cancer could only think about the negative outcomes of this. How could she not? It's a metal death machine. "But what if someone happens to go this way?"
"You can always just stop the car, or run into the grass." Luckily, Capricorn was a patient guy. If she really got uncomfortable, he'd be happy to take the wheel back. "There won't be anyone behind us, and if the car hits something off the road, fixing it won't be a problem."
That only helped the blonde girl calm down a little. She just sighed, and uncrossed her arms.
"If you can't remember something just ask. You won't even have to put your foot on the gas if you don't want to, we'll just go really slow." He added.
She nodded, his words, for the most part, just going in one ear and out the other.
"Just twist the key to start the car. You'll have to turn it a few times, until the engine rumbles."
And she turned the key, and the car started, both it & Cancer shaking. She gripped the wheel, and glanced at the rearview mirror, at the house behind her. She just had to roll down the driveway, onto the road. Easy enough, right?
She took a deep breath, put her foot on the brake, and put the car into drive. She felt like she was gonna be sick. Lifting her foot off of the brake, the car rolled forwards, and started down the driveway. Slow at first, but it started gaining speed.
Panicking, Cancer shoved her foot down on the brake, and both she and Capricorn were thrown forwards. "Sorry."
"It's fine," he told her, rubbing the shoulder where the seatbelt sat. It had yanked him right back into his seat, same as Cancer. "Next time, just have your foot resting on top of the brake, so it'll be easier to ease into it." She nodded, and rubbed her eyes.
They both knew today was going to be a long day.

Taurus & Aquarius were just chilling in the former's room, all cuddled up in his blankets since his room was a little colder. They were comfortable, and that's all that mattered.
Taurus could hear Libra yelling at Virgo downstairs through the vents, and he could only guess it involved the kitchen. It always did when Virgo was the one getting yelled at. Libra of all people though, after that whole pasta thing.
They could hear Leo, a few rooms down, since sit was so quiet in their room, and his TV was rather loud. It sounded like a Spanish soap opera. And judging by how cracked and tear-filled Leo's voice was (yes he was talking to the tv), Aquarius assumed it was a romantic one.
"Maybe we should go check on him," Aquarius suggested. Taurus scrunched you his nose, and looked at her, all 'do we have to?'. She elbowed him. "C'mon, have some sympathy."
"I'm sure he's fine."
And the. Aquarius snatched the phone out of his hand, threw the blanket that had been on her in his face, and walked towards the door, holding in her laughter, but she was still rather pleased with herself.
Taurus sighed, groaning. He really didn't like getting up. It was so warm there. "Fiiiiiiiine." He stumbled to his feet, nearly tripping over the blanket, and snatched his phone back. Aquarius grinned, and skipped out his the room, triumphant.

"Oh fuck there's a car."
"It's turning left, you won't have to pass it, don't worry."
"The number of times you say 'don't worry' is only making it worse."
"Sorry."
Cancer was convinced she was going to vomit all over the car. She felt sick well beyond her stomach, and the tension in her chest wasn't going away. Not to mention the deafening silence.
Maybe if she started up on conversation? "Uh..."
She glanced out the side mirror next to her window, to double-check if one was behind her.
No, she knew she wouldn't be able to keep one up. Her mind was too focused on not killing Capricorn or herself.
"So, how did you like ice skating?" Capricorn asked, turning to face her. She tried to face him, but realized that meant having to look away from the road, and that was a hard no.
"It was fun." She gave a quick, thoughtless answer. That's all she could muster, a thoughtless answer. Her face felt dry, and dehydrated, and she felt as if she'd just go blind or deaf at any moment.
"I thought you hated it. You said the fire signs were annoying and you couldn't balance on the skates at all."
"Oh yeah."
Capricorn furrowed his eyebrows. Probably time to take the wheel back. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea after all. "Stop here, I'll take the wheel." The only reason he didn't say 'I can take the wheel' is because she would've just insisted she was fine continuing.
She hit the brakes, letting out a breath of relief. "Okay."

Leo was crying in a burrito blanket of his own. Not sobbing — not anymore, much to Taurus's thanks. He felt really uncomfortable when people cried. Even Leo's edgy silent tears were a little ehhhh.
Aquarius was the first to walk in. "You good?"
Leo sniffled, looking over at them. "Yeah."
"Obviously," Taurus muttered. Aquarius elbowed him, trying to tell him to stop being rude. They both peered at the TV.
"What's happening?"
"Karla was about to get married, but Oriana poisoned the groom!" Leo choked. "They were so in love," he sniffled " and she just took that" sniffle " from her!" And then every single tear in Leo's body just poured out. Talking about it just pushed him right back over the edge.
Aquarius shoved Taurus forwards. He needed to learn how to comfort people, and now was the best time to practice.
"Wait what?!" He whispered frantically at his girlfriend, panicked.
"Comfort him!"
"Excuse me?!"
They continued to mouth at each other, Taurus frantically shaking his head, while Aquarius aggressively nodded hers. Just when it looked like both of their heads would pop off, the brown-haired boy finally sighed, and turned towards Leo.
Taurus sat on the bed next to Leo, and awkwardly pat his back. "Hey, it's uh, well it's fine. It's just a TV show, right?" He knew that wasn't the right thing to say, but he's trying okay?
"Yeah I know Taurus, it's still sad."
"Yeah, I know, I know. Why not just take a break, and watch something fun? Like a comedy, or rom-com, if you wanna stay in the same genre." That sounded like pretty solid advice. Aquarius gave him a thumbs up and everything.
"If I watch a rom-com, I'll just be reminded of how happy Karla and Sergio were." He sobbed again, this time pressing his face into Taurus, for some kind of physical comfort.
Not the earth sign's strong suit. He was actually lowkey pretty grossed out.

When Cancer and Capricorn got home, Cancer just flopped onto the couch, her face squished against the cushions, groaning. A concerned Pisces and Scorpio just kinda sat and stared, with Pisces asking what was wrong.
Capricorn just yawned, and went upstairs, setting the keys down on the kitchen counter. However, going upstairs proved to be a vital mistake. Why? Because everyone was suffering up there. Leo was sobbing, Taurus had snot all over his shirt, and Aquarius couldn't help even if she wanted to.
Capricorn just went into his room and locked his door. No more.
