War

A mom bawls and struggles against the grasp of two soldiers,
For they have come to take her son away from her,
Her only pillar.

They took her beloved ,
Now they come for her son ,
For the war they say,
For protecting the country they say.

Admist her desperate sobbing ,
Her son tries to console her ,
Already accepting his fate ,
His own agony streaming down his cheeks.

And yet as the mother continues begging them,
The soldiers take her precious gem away,
The country needs him they say .

The mother falls down,
Sobbing still, even as it dawns.
She knows , she fears, she cries.
She is helpless at the hands of fates.

Months later , the son reads his mom's letter,
Wishing him better;
But it is snatched by the cruel wind.

He rushes after , heart in throat;
As he rushes to grasp his mom's affection,
To feel that love ,
The only thing that kept him sane in these valleys of death.

As he does ,
a bullet tears open his head,
Shedding a single tear for his mom's letter that he never read.

Thousands of miles away ,
The gentle wind brings the memory of warm kiss ,
Against her withered cheek,
With it a pang and gut wrenching pain.

She knew then,
He was gone ,
And so she left smiling ,
To join her family in their heavenly abode.

Even as the honor troupe came,
They found non in her house,
As if nobody was even there.
