It was a normal day in the great village of Konohagakure no Sato, the village hidden in the leaves, which is located in Hi no Kuni, or the Land of Fire. That was until a nine year old Naruto Uzumaki stole the Forbidden Scroll of Seals.

It was his first attempt at graduating the Academy. He thought he'd be able to pass, and finally get acknowledgement from the villagers, and shinobi that always ignored him, but he failed. He couldn't get the Bunshin no Jutsu down.

The Bunshin no jutsu (Clone Technique) is a basic technique that every shinobi can use. In fact, Konoha's Ninja Academy prevents students from graduating unless they master this technique. Unlike most other Bunshinjutsu (clone techniques), these afterimages have no substance and thus are incapable of damaging opponents. Because of this, it is only useful for confusing enemies while other attacks are prepared.

Mizuki had told Naruto about a "secret test", that "everyone" knew about. The Academy-sensei told Naruto that he had to grab a huge scroll with awesome jutsu in it, and if he learned one jutsu from it... Naruto would be a Genin of Konoha. Mizuki also told them to meet in the forest next to a cabin.

Anyway that was eight hours ago, and every Shinobi in the village couldn't find him, but the Sandaime Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi. Hiruzen Sarutobi is a short man. He wears the official uniform of the Hokage: the customary hat and haori with a red, full-length kimono that is tied using a white sash. The Sandaime has white hair, and a goatee, with lines coming down from his eyes.

Hiruzen is known by two names: The Professor, and Shinobi no Kami. He taught the Legendary Sannin, and was taught by the Nidaime, Tobirama Senju. He is also a firm believer in the Will of Fire, which holds that all the people of Konoha are a family and that the Hokage is chiefly responsible for that family's well-being.

Hiruzen has a special jutsu, which is called Tōmegane no Jutsu (Telescope Technique). By peering into a crystal ball, the user can see the current activities of anyone whose chakra signature they know. Users can view subjects from any location, regardless of distance or potential obstructions, making it ideal for intelligence gathering.

The aged Sarutobi has been watching Naruto the whole time. Which most definitely doesn't count the time he was knocked from a nosebleed by Naruto's most lethal jutsu: the Oiroke no Jutsu (Sexy Technique). Naruto created this technique in order to play pranks on men. The user into a beautiful woman, with special attention given to the woman's figure, breasts, and waist.

Hiruzen watched as Naruto learns not one, not two, not three, but four jutsu from the scroll. This shocks the Sandaime, along with the ANBU Commander, who goes by Dragon.

Dragon has short, unkempt, dark-coloured hair, black eyes and well-defined eyelashes, that were turned upwards at each end. He is dressed in a white cloak and black trousers with bandages tied around his right leg, arm-guards, gloves and black sandals. His mask has the motif of a dragon painted on it. The mask has two short forward pointed horns, detailed eyebrows and three, thick stripes with two along either sides of his cheek and one on his forehead.

Dragon then speaks up. He says, "Hokage-sama, I'd like for him to join ANBU under Team Ro."

Hiruzen looks at Dragon sceptically. The Hokage replies, "I don't know Dragon. I don't think he is a good fit for ANBU."

Dragon says, "I think he is though. He learned a B-Rank, two A-Rank, and an S-Rank Kinjutsu. This was just done by a nine year old Academy student. Also on any day, Naruto can outrun most Jounin, and today he has shown that he has good amount of stealth, and infiltration skills. Along with the planning he most likely does for his pranks. Hiruzen... He is perfect for ANBU."

Hiruzen grumbles, but says, "Fine, but Naruto has to accept the invitation. If he doesn't then he. Will. Not. Be able to be an ANBU operative."

Dragon just nods, as they get back to watching Naruto, who was just found by Iruka. Iruka is a man of average height and build. He has brown hair that he keeps in a ponytail, dark eyes and a scar that runs across the bridge of his nose — which he has had since his youth. He wears the standard Konoha shinobi outfit complete with a Konoha hitai-ate, sandals, and a flak jacket. His sleeves are also rolled up about ¼ way.

Iruka asks, "What do you think you're doing out here Naruto?"

Naruto says, "I found you Iruka-sensei."

Iruka deadpanned, as he says, "I am the one who found you." He then asks, "Naruto what on earth possessed you to take the scroll like that? Don't you know it's forbidden?"

Naruto answers, "Mizuki-sensei told me to find the scroll, and if I could learn one technique I could pass. I already learned four techniques. So do you think you could pass me? He said it was a secret test."

Iruka looks confused, as he says, "Their is no secret test like that. Mizuki lied to you... Naruto did you just say that you learned four jutsu from the Scroll of Seals?"

Umino then pushes Naruto to the ground as a Fūma Shuriken gets stuck to tree with a white katana. Mizuki then appears on a tree branch with another Fūma Shuriken at the ready. Mizuki says, "Nice work Naruto." He is looking down at him and Iruka who had gotten back to his feet standing defensively in front of Naruto, and says, "Now give me the scroll."

Iruka's fingers flexed right by his kunai and shuriken pouch on his thigh, "He already knows you deceived him Mizuki. You should have been a bit faster, or maybe you couldn't find your own decoy? Maybe you should be the one going back to the academy."

Umino then pushes Naruto to the ground as a Fūma Shuriken flies into Iruka's back. Mizuki then appears on a tree branch with another Fūma Shuriken at the ready. Mizuki sarcastically says, "Nice work Naruto."

He is looking down at him and Iruka who had gotten back to his feet standing defensively in front of Naruto, and says, "Now give me the scroll."

Iruka's fingers flexed right by his kunai and shuriken pouch on his thigh, "He already knows you deceived him Mizuki. You should have been a bit faster, or maybe you couldn't find your own decoy? Maybe you should be the one going back to the academy."

Iruka took a moment to pat himself on the back for riling Mizuki up.

Mizuki sneered at Iruka before turning a kinder look to the young boy behind the scar-faced chunin, "Naruto did you ever wonder why everyone hates you? Everyone in the village knows about it but you."

Naruto replies, "Yes I do. I want to know why everyone doesn't like me. I want to know why everyone ignores me."

Mizuki asks, "Do you remember the Kyuubi Attack?"

Naruto nodded, as he asks, "But what does this have to do with a dead Kitsune?"

Iruka then yells, "DON'T TELL HIM MIZUKI! IT'S FORBIDDEN!"

Mizuki chuckled, as answers, "It has everything to do with the dead Kitsune. You see it's not dead, because you are the Kitsune, and everyone knew but you."

Iruka yells, "NARUTO, DON'T GIVE HIM THE SCROLL! RUN, RUN FAR AWAY! DON'T LET MIZUKI GET THE SCROLL!"

Naruto then runs off into the woods, as Mizuki is throwing fuma shuriken at the boy, and sensei. After finding a place to hide, Naruto hears the conversation between Iruka, and Mizuki.

Mizuki Henged as Iruka chases what he thinks is Naruto, who turns out to be Iruka in a Henge. He then asks, "Why are you sticking up for the fox that destroyed Konoha?"

Iruka answers, by saying, "At one point I thought Naruto, and the fox were one. Then I realized he's just the container keeping us safe from the Kyuubi's wrath. Naruto is not the Kyuubi. He is Naruto Uzumaki: the greatest shinobi of Konohagakure no Sato in Hi no Kuni, and the next Hokage!"

That is when Naruto jumps from his hiding spot, and says, "If you even think of touching Iruka-sensei, I'll kill you."

Mizuki asks, "You, and what army, Kyuubi-brat?"

Naruto makes a single hand seal, and yells, "This one, Mizuki-teme! Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Shadow Clone Technique)!" The forest then fills up with a thousand Shadow Clones, who rush towards Mizuki, and beat the ever living shit out of him.

Iruka then watches as Naruto beats Mizuki, and thinks, "Those are physical clones, and not illusions. What Bunshinjutsu is this?"

That is when some of the clones explode, covering the area with smoke. In the smoke, Naruto makes his way towards Mizuki, while doing hand seals. Tiger → Snake → Rat → Boar →Ox → Dragon. He yells, "Ninpō: Tamashī no Ryūshutsu (Ninja Art: Soul Drain)!" The Uzumaki then places his hand on Mizuki's forehead, and watches as all of Mizuki's chakra, and soul assimilate into Naruto's body. Which drags Naruto into the sewer he now calls a mindscape.

Naruto soon see a cage, and Mizuki cowering in front of it. He then sees, and hears the Kyuubi growling at the former Academy Sensei. The Kyuubi is a kitsune with nine long swiping tails. It has red-orange fur with black fur around its eyes that stretches to its ears, red irises with black slits for pupils and the upper-body structure of a human, complete with opposable thumbs on its clawed hands.

The Kyuubi says, "So my Jailor came to meet me, and has brought me a chew-toy."

Naruto replies, "Nice to meet you too, Kyuubi."

The Kyuubi asks, "So, Why are you here, well other than the jutsu that is?"

Naruto thinks for a moment, and then answers, "Well, since we are going to be working together at some point in the near future, I thought it would be nice to know your name."

The Kyuubi looks confused, and asks, "Why my name?"

Naruto answers, "Well your name can't just be Kyuubi... Wait, can it?"

The Kyuubi answers, "The Kyuubi title is not my name. You are not worthy enough to know my name... yet."

This is when Mizuki asks, "So what's going to happen to me?"

Naruto answers, "Well your dead, and inside my mind. So I am going to finish the jutsu I just learned, and learn everything you have."

The blonde then places his hand on Mizuki's forehead. Mizuki disappears, and from Naruto's mindscape, and Naruto is hit with all of Mizuki's memories at once, even his muscle memory. But it did not give Naruto, Mizuki's chakra control, which sucked for the blonde, as his sucked balls.

The Kyuubi says, "Your Sensei is calling you."

When Naruto returns from his mindscape, Iruka says, "Well done Naruto, now close your eyes."

Iruka takes off his hitai-ate, putting it on Naruto's forehead, after taking naruto's goggles that it. Iruka then says, "Naruto, you can now open your eyes."

Naruto opened his eyes to see Iruka without his hitai-ate, and his goggles in Iruka's hand. This means that he has just passed the Graduation test, but he doesn't react until Iruka says, "Congratulations Naruto Uzumaki, you have finally passed the Genin Exams!"

They then go straight to the Hokage's office. Iruka then tells the Hokage what Mizuki said to Naruto.

Speaking of Naruto. He asks, "Is what Mizuki-teme said, true?"

Anyway, the Hokage answers, "Sadly, Naruto-kun, the answer to your question is yes."

Naruto asks, "Why didn't you tell me? Is this also why you couldn't tell me about my family or even my clan?"

This hurt the aged Kage. Hiruzen thought that he'd have a normal life, and the Sandaime said exactly that. Naruto then replies, "Well I didn't, Jiji."

The Hokage smiles, as he says, "I support Iruka's decision to let you graduate. Naruto Uzumaki, you are now a Genin of Konohagakure no Sato! Now which hitai-ate do you want?"

Naruto gives Iruka's hitai-ate back, and then looks through the Hokage's selection. He finds a long navy blue Konoha hitai-ate, and ties it around his forehead.

Hiruzen then says, "Naruto I have a proposition for you. Would you like to hear it... Iruka before Naruto hears this you are dismissed."

Iruka getting the message, and leaves. Naruto then asks, "What is so important that Iruka-sensei had to leave?"

Dragon then appears in a Shunshin, and asks, "Genin Uzumaki, would you like to join ANBU?"

Naruto thinks about it for a long while. He knew that ANBU are the elite of the village, but then he wouldn't get the acceptance he always wanted. But then again, Naruto always liked the ANBU masks. So Naruto says, "I'll join ANBU, Dattebayo!"

Hiruzen then fishes out an ANBU mask from his desk drawer, and hands it to Naruto. He says, "That was your Kaa-san's mask when she was in ANBU. Wear it with pride, and honor."

The mask has a fox motif painted on it. It has black paint around its eyes that stretches to its pointed ears, and six red pointed whiskers on each cheek, that go down the cheek.

As Naruto places the mask on his face, Dragon says, "Welcome to ANBU, Fox."

Naruto then asks, "Hokage-jiji, who were my parents?"

Hiruzen answers, "Now that you have graduated, and an ANBU Black Ops member I can tell you. Your parent's information is a S-Rank secret so do not tell anyone. Your Tou-san is the Yondaime Hokage, Minato Namikaze, and your Kaa-san is his wife Kushina Uzumaki, of the Uzumaki Clan, who used to live in Uzushiogakure, in Uzu no Kuni, or the Land of Whirlpools. Well, that was before they fell during the Second Shinobi World War. The Uzumaki were known for the master over Fuinjutsu, their red hair, their massive lifespans, and vitality."

Dragon says, "I'll take you to your apartment, and then in two days you will meet your new team: Team Ro."
