So I finally got this chapter up... By time this chapter is up it probably would have been finished for a couple of days but I'm just trying to stock up chapters so I can have some ready so it won't take so long

Eric didn't annoy us again during dinner, but Four left to go sit with his friends. There's something about him, I just can't put my finger on it. Who is he? Or better yet who was he? Eric leads us through the dark tunnels of dauntless, I don't get it... What happened to Four, how could he leave us with Eric? Leaving us with Eric is like leaving us with a babysitter sharpening knives. I don't trust Eric. When we stop its in front of a large door. He turns towards us and begins to speak. I ignore everything he says, and that's how it's going to stay. Why should I believe anything that comes out of Eric's foul mouth? When he pushes the door open it leads to a dormitory.

"Wait so it's girls and boys" one initiate asks,

"looks like it" I answer

Everyone one turns back and looks at me, that's the most they've really heard me talk. I feel special.

"Lights out soon" Eric's voice bursts through the room

That night everything felt different, I was happy I no longer had to hide from the pain my father would inflict on me. Not only was I going to struggle with the sudden change of not having to hide, but I can tell all the other initiates are going to struggle as well, especially tonight.

As I lay in bed I can hear the breathing of the other initiates. I think Tris feels the same as me, I don't think either of us have slept in a room with another guy before, well I have slept in my brother's room but that doesn't really count because he's family. I'm not sure if she has done the same with Caleb.

I enjoy the change in my clothes; my usual abnegation grey are now burned like every other initiates old clothes, unlike all the thick long-sleeved clothing that I used to wear I can now wear the dauntless black and some of it is much more revealing and clings to the skin. It makes me feel more at home.

I can tell most of the others miss their homes, their families, but not me. I can hear the constant sniffle of the others, like they are crying but I think they are trying to cover it up to make everyone else think they are cold. Although that's not the same for the Candor boy... Al. he really is crying and everyone who is awake knows it. Knowing Tris, she wants to comfort him, its just abnegations ways, but we are not in abnegation anymore. I ignore it and roll over to go to sleep.

It's early in the morning and no one else in the dorm is awake. I've been awake for a while and got dressed, so I decided to sit on the bed even though it's incredibly uncomfortable, I could feel all the springs in the mattress, it wasn't nice. I get up and begin walking towards the door, when I get close to the door I see Four. "You're up early" he says to me

"I'm used to it" I reply

Clang.... Clang.... Clang

He bangs a metal cup on the railing off the two stairs All the initiates quickly sit up.

"In the pit, two minutes" he yells to all initiates. I instantly leave towards the pit, Four and Eric don't seem to care that I'm there waiting alone. While I stand there, I take in my surroundings. The dark stone walls, the stone ground, no wonder no one really knows where the dauntless compound is because it's all underground. I turn to my left and see the dauntless born initiates, Uriah right in the middle with Lynn and Marlene, they are all nice. The rest of the initiates pour into the pit and I'm in the front, Tris is with Christina at the other side of the group.

"There are two stages of training, the first is physical, push your bodies to the breaking point and master the methods of combat, the second is mental, again breaking point, you'll face your worst fears and conquer them unless they get you first." Four says while pacing "You train separately from the dauntless born but you'll be ranked together" he adds pointing to the dauntless born "After initiation your ranking will determine what jobs you move into, leadership, guarding the fence, or keeping the factionless from killing each other" Four finishes

There's not even a moment silence when Eric buts in "rankings will also determine who gets cut"

Everyone looks around at each other probably wondering who will be here in the end... I know I will, I must prove to Eric that I'm not a stiff, I belong in dauntless. I'm determined.

"Cut?" Christina speaks up. Eric stands and walks towards us "at the end of each stage of training the lowest ranking initiates will be leaving us"

Why does he have to have that stupid smirk on his face. I'm surprised you can see his face he has to many tattoos and piercings I can't keep count or tell where they end.

"To do what?" Al asks

Well that was a stupid question Al... They probably go to the factionless.

"There's no going home to your families so you live factionless" Eric says

Well damn I was right.

I would never want to go home, not to that life, even without the beatings I never fit into abnegation. Tris looks shocked.

Why didn't we know that?" Will asks in a slightly accusatory tone

Eric only says four words "it's a new rule"

"A new rule, someone should have told us that" Christina says in a booming voice

"Why?" Eric quickly asks, "would you have chosen differently Out of fear, but if that's the case you might as well get out now" he adds "if you're really one of us it won't matter to you that you might fail, you chose us, now we get to choose you" he finishes

Four doesn't look like he enjoyed this conversation at all. I don't think this is fair at all.

Let the training begin.

I know it took forever and it's short... I've actually had this chapter ready for about 4 weeks, but waited so I had a couple of other chapters ready to post but I havnt got the 7th ready so it may take awhile again
