I had thought of this part before I started writing the book and it sounded better than it does here

After all the initiates had jumped into the net we had a little introduction.

"Dauntless born go with Lauren...Transfers stay with me; my name is Four" Four says. I look at my fellow initiates and a lot of them look intimidated by Four. God he's not that bad.

He leads us down a dark and narrow corridor and I'm lucky to see what's I front of me, I do know that it's four because I'm at the front of the group. We near the end of the tunnel and a bit of light shines over us, I look towards four and notice he has a tattoo coming up the back of his neck. Four stops and turns to us. "This is the pit, centre of life here at dauntless" he says and continues walking. The pathways are very narrow, if you weren't careful you could fall, especially since there are no railings. We've always know dauntless could be stupid, but they do seem smarter than we all thought. As we walk I start to hear the rumbling of water. Where would there be water down here? My thought was answered when we came to a ledge near a large ravine in the ground.

"This is the chasm, a coward jump from here will end your life, it's happened before it will happen again" he says in his monotone voice. Finally, he takes us to what I would call the cafeteria, but I think he called it something different. I can't find Uriah, maybe he's not here yet. I find a place over with Tris, there's a spot in between her and four, I decide to sit there.

"Hi Tris" I say "Tora, did you want to join us" she asks

She always did belong in abnegation, you can tell that she's from there, I mean she's still in abnegation grey but if she wasn't you would be able to tell she was from there. I sit down with them and just ignore what they are saying until Four speaks up.

"I don't want to hear about your old factions, you're dauntless now" he says. Okay then.

"Were you a transfer too, or dauntless born?" Tris asks him. Oh god why did you do that

"What makes you think you can talk to me?" He says,

"I don't know I guess it's just because you're so approachable" she says

I finish her sentence "You know like a bed of nails"

He chuckles and replies "watch yourself stiff"

Not long after that conversation ends a man walks in and over to Four, he sits himself in between four and myself.

"How you been four? Max said he's been trying to meet with you" the mystery man says,

"Tell him I'm happy with the position I currently hold" Four replies "So he's offering you a job" the guy asks. I can tell that four isn't enjoying this, he is stirring in his seat.

Four answers "so it seems Eric".

So, his name is Eric.

There is a short silence.

"Aren't you going to introduce me" Eric asks

Hell no please don't

"This is Tris and Tora" he says

"Ooh two stiffs let's see how long you last" Eric says aiming towards Tris and myself, Eric stands, and I stand too

"What makes you think we won't last is it because we're stiffs, well let me prove it to you" I say "I will make it to the end of initiation" I add slowly. By that point everyone in the cafeteria was staring in shock at what just happened. I sit down, and he walks away, four not long after and heads to another table after being called over.

"I have come to the conclusion that Tris you have a death wish and Tora you're just insane" Christina says. "I'm not lying...I will make it and so will Tris" I say

"I'm not saying you were" Christina says defensively for the rest of their conversation I just zone out and ignore everything around me.
