In the far distances of the dark matters of Fiction and Nonfiction, there was a place for those who found joy in the world. Many of the crazy locations they're less likely to find home in is Sourheart, a mysterious town that plagued the neighborhood with high crimes, scary monsters, and villainy, second only to "Miracle City" back in 2007. There is a Yokai who found the meaning of tamed and wild, being controlled by the ones who made you, or being free to be whatever you wanted.

Soot Mudbank, a weak and gentle dog, lived with his parents in Canine Ave, a supposed safe haven for dogs. He was a babysitter who took care of many puppies and he loved caring for young pups, even if their parents decided they want to raise another kid. For the dogs, this town is free of being put down by the humans and live until their body dies. For the humans, it plagued towns with spreading disease, animal attacks, and dog breeding much often.

It causes the humans from Sweetlung, Bitterliver, and Tarty-Tongue to bring out dog catchers to the infectious town. Now death has drawn onto Soot as he ran away hiding from a large dog catcher, Sourheart is known to have dark secrets with any nook and cranny around the town and forests. The animal shelter there was built to capture wild dogs in the area. Half of them were put down and half of them ended up getting spayed and neutered because of those human's way to "expand the lifespan". He was running to the woods with fear now since his father was caught by one of them.

As all hope seemed lost, a singing howl has come from above the trees and a New Guinea singing dog landed in front of the poor Newfoundland.

The native dog, or in this case wild dog, has sought to prevent this tragedy. He originally hated tamed dogs, but humans pose as a threat to every dog, even the domesticated ones. He found out that he won't attack them alone, he immediately took Soot in and make him sleep in the ground like his own kind, and taught him how to be a dog in the wild. Soot learned how to scavenge fruit, bugs, and carcasses, he climbed trees up to catch squirrels, and he learned not to bark but howl to drive away humans.

The final lesson is a bit confusing to Soot, the native dog, which he's called "Songbird", have brought Soot to civilization for a short time, and he bought a small bag of brown chunks, "Soot, tonight we must make haste, the dog hunter is coming here in the morning, we must be ready" he came back on the small hut and placed the crushed chunks on the fondue pot, "come Soot, take a bite of this berry" Songbird coated the berry in the brown substance and Soot swallowed, he knew what the brown stuff was, chocolate

"Mr. Songbird, Chocolate is poisonous to my kind..." Soot bowed

"Who told you that nonsense?" Songbird asked as he ate a berry

"My parents... my grandparents... and so does the other dogs in the neighborhood..." Soot explained

"Those dogs have been taught by the human native brothers from across the realm, they taught the fictional dogs that the food from their gods is poisonous to dogs, meaning their world's dogs." Songbird answered

"It was all a big lie?" Soot was saddened by the fact that they were lied to

"Whether if chocolate is bad is up to you, nowadays chocolate is a wonder drug for a stable wild dog such as I... listen to me Soot, the world may be hard on you, but you got to understand that there are some things that you can preserve and protect... being wild may likely lose the bond with your family and friends, but it's the only way for you to defeat that dog catcher" Songbird took another bite of the chocolate berry

Soot took a berry and dip it in chocolate, and he slowly took a bite. His sight is beginning to blur and his stomach felt heavy, he felt his head like it's going to pound and lies on the dirty ground. Songbird lays a blanket on him as he suffers from the pain, "you'll find out once it takes in"

Soot felt a vision in his brain as he saw a dog shaped blue orb, along with the small brown cat with smaller white and dark brown cats falling, a wallaby shaped orb hopped near him as the silvery orb jumped up alongside him, "what are you?" The orbs fly up in the spinning sky and Soot felt the ground gone and fell down

Soot woke up with a scream under a blanket and he heard a girl scream coming from the morning light, his teeth growled, which alarmed Songbird, and Soot ran straight to the catcher.

The catcher grabbed several dogs near Canine Ave., but Soot's jaws caught the arm and have him freed the captive canines. Blood dripped down to the brick road as dogs are stunned to learn who that dog was, but it was a huge surprise. They never knew that their savior is the babysitter. The catcher tried to defend itself, but he can't withstand the claws and mauling of a ferocious animal, more wild than any dog.

The catcher ran off into the truck and head straight towards Sweetlung, to go back and wrangle normal dogs to be fixed instead of the talking ones with crazy skills from the cesspool known as Sourheart

As Soot goes to thank Songbird, he disappeared, nowhere to be found. He can't seem to find his father though, but he vaguely have good memories with him. Soot found Songbird as a father-figure because he was a lone wolf and the reason Songbird kept Soot is because he stood by him and live the ways of the wild dogs, apparently abandoned by the former tribes dogs who are most likely for be tamed and being cared for by humans.

Or maybe it's something else...

Throughout the rest of Soot's life, dog catchers are afraid of getting a dog from Sourheart because of him. For the last 20 years, he was made to hunt down prey and defend his home like a wild dog. Kids he cared for grew up saying, "The Dog Catcher Hunter!", when they see him. He took a liking to chocolate and has a tolerance for it. He wonder what the orbs have been telling him, are they tripping on him? Or are they visions from the future.

As he was 30, he was craving for chocolate far too much. Much like the fabled story of the "powdered sugar bear", he goes on a murderous spree for an ounce of it. He was never been told that this would happen to him if he develops an addiction to the forbidden substance. He almost attacked a young cat and shocked of what he had become. His senses overtook him and fainted, leaving a bad dream to appear

Huge green blobs appeared and stumbled upon him, the blue blob from before was running from them. Soot tried to defend her, but another scene showed the three cat blobs attacking the monster. "Come on! Leave them alone!" Soot charged but shifted into a different place with new blobs running from what appeared to be a Bigfoot blob, "The tainted must be purified..."

"What do you mean, old man!?" Soot went to the purple blob and a silver blob mumbling each other as they hugged and the silver blob exploded, "Hey wait!" Soot fell down in his dream again and woke up with a scream, "huh? Where am I?"

"Soot, are you okay?" A smelly cat with pac-man pajamas sat next to him

"Kusaya, what are you doing here?" Soot swallowed

"I came to see what my new friend is doing with that wheelbarrow full of goodies, but then you scared the hell out of him" Kusaya frowned

"I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me... the smell of chocolate... it took over my control" Soot sat up and covered his face with his paws

"Doctor, he's awake" a nurse called and a doctor checked in on him

"Hello Soot" the dog doctor came in with wrinkles on his face and his entire body, examining Soot's check up

"Mr. Pei..." Soot gasped

"Take it easy, Soot. You're just experienced an overdose, I've given you some of naloxone to reverse it." He explained

"Did I harm the kids..." Soot asked

"No you haven't... you're harmless..." a young brown cat sat down next to Kusaya, "pyew, sir, you need a bath"

"Rotting Fish Cat never takes a bath, smell this!" Kusaya played around with the young cat

Soot laughed as he was listening to the doctor, "You gotta understand Soot, though you are a mystery to know how you bested the dog catchers, but you have to put an end with your addiction to chocolate. It is affecting your minds ten times worse, and it's not parallel to human brains. If you agree, I'll call the rehab center and let them know that you're coming there for at least for several years..."

"Sourheart will handle the situation without me, they have cats to deal with now and we took down their pet shelters" Soot nodded, "I've decided, no more chocolate. It made me forget who I was before being the famed hunter..."

"Thank you, you made a right choice" Dr. Pei went to the hallway and Soot stared at the ceiling, Those visions are getting more intense... if Songbird was telling me if chocolate can make me see the future, then I gotta know... who are these blobs represent...?
