Sun Dragon could tell Camo hadn't lost his interest in music at all. It's blossomed more and more. Camo's club isn't just a hangout-after-missions sort-of thing; they're quite the musical group. They played songs for Sun Dragon's arrival; many of the songs were from Earth, the place the Skylanders were banished to by Kaos sometime ago. The found many interesting things on Earth and brought many things back to Skylands, such as the music, the games, the movies, the many cultures, and much, much more. Sun Dragon enjoyed it all delightfully.

Spyro gave a tour of the Citadel to Sun Dragon, since the place had changed some since the last time Sun Dragon visited. Sun Dragon did notice one big difference that he did not hesitate to ask about.

Sun Dragon: Wasn't the Core of Light here years ago? I realize it was destroyed once, but tales tell how you Skylanders repaired it and banished the Darkness once more. Where is the Core of Light now?

Suddenly, a melancholy mood fell over Spyro and the other Skylanders. Dark Spyro decided to put his acting skills to good use and tell Sun Dragon what had happened.

Dark Spyro: We did repair the Great Machine and banished the Darkness, but then Kaos made the monstrous Sky Eater! Oh how it devoured the wonderful Core of Light. Just as we managed to weaponized it to fight the Darkness too. You should've seen how depressed Spitfire was. Oh how he felt it was his fault for the Core's destruction! Our wonderful Core, gone! (pretends to sob)
Sun Dragon: What? Destroyed!?
Cynder: Sadly, it is so Sun Dragon. The Sky Eater, powered by the very Darkness the Core of Light kept at bay, destroyed the Core as it tried to destroy us.
Legendary Spyro: But with the help of Glumshanks, the Superchargers, the Dark Rift Engine, and even Kaos himself, we send the Darkness back to the world of which it came. We need fear the Darkness no more.

Sun Dragon was absolutely stunned by this. And why shouldn't he? The Skylanders had tried to hide the fact the Core of Light had been destroyed from everyone who didn't already know. The Core of Light was a beacon of hope for all of Skylands. If everyone suddenly found out that, then they might lose faith in the Skylanders, then Kaos would try to take advantage of the situation and lord knows what would happen then.

Sun Dragon: Well, if the Darkness is gone now, I suppose it is...alright. If we can manage to last this long without the Core, then we can do anything to keep Kaos at bay.
Spyro: We still need all the help we can get. That's why we have the Skylanders Academy; it's welcome to anyone who feels they have what it takes to protect Skylands.
Camo: Speaking of which, didn't you say you'd consider becoming a Skylander Sun Dragon? In your letter I mean.
Sun Dragon: Yes, yes, I did. I've been taking it into consideration lately. It'll give me the opportunity to travel to different places with not just the idea of traveling there in mind. I would be of some good to the people of Skylands for once. I could meet so many new people that way. Plus I could keep tabs on my favorite little sprout here more often!
Hot Dog: We could always use someone to put Camo on a leash. Cynder ain't cutting it.
Sun Dragon: Not to mention I've been hearing so many good things about the Academy. Oh, and I see what you did there Hot Dog.
Hot Dog: Hm?
Sun Dragon: "On a leash."
Camo: Oh I get it! (Laughs loudly) Good ear Sunny!
Hot Dog: 😡
Bash: (groans) Yep, he's just as bad as Camo alright.
Cynder: So, back to the matter at hand gentlemen, do you want to become a cadet at the Skylanders Academy Sun Dragon? You have to graduate the Academy first to become a Skylander like Camo or any of us.

Sun Dragon thought long and hard about this. He was a care-free dragon, but he also had a sense of justice that the Skylanders appreciate. Eon himself had asked the Sun Dragon to become a Skylander years ago, and not everyone in Skylands can say Eon himself invited them to be a Skylander. Eon didn't push Sun Dragon into becoming a Skylander; he completely understood that Sun Dragon didn't want to become a Skylander. Not right then anyway. Now that Sun Dragon was told so much about the Academy, and now about the Core being...gone. Well...

Spyro: Sun Dragon? You still with us?
Sun Dragon: How can I say no, hm? I'll give it my best shot!
Camo: (gasp) You mean-?
Sun Dragon: I'll attend the Skylanders Academy, and then I'll show you what this Sun Dragon can do! I'll make you proud to have me, especially you Camo brother! I'll be a Skylander in no time! I'll shine brighter then the brightest day!
