Light vs. Dark
Astroblast announced to his class that they were going to train in combat with the Dark Class. Sun Dragon was told that all the Elemental Classes did a combat training class with the element opposite to them once a month. Since Sun Dragon's Elemental Class was Light, the opposite class would be Dark. Sun Dragon wondered what creatures must take that class. He hasn't met a cadet of the Dark element yet, so he was curious as to who or what he'll meet.
The class was taken to a training ground outside the Academy. After a few minutes the Dark Class came, led by the only Dark elemental Supercharger Skylander Nightfall. The two teachers explained to any of the newer students that they have one student from the Light Class and one from the Dark Class fight each other in combat. The fight ends when one yields, the other winning the match. The teachers had to come up with the sparring pairs, so that gave the two classes time to mingle. Sun Dragon found that many of the Dark elemental cadets were either mischievous, hyper, or loners. One Dark elemental cadet jumped on Lance Light's back unexpectedly and laughed as Lance was trying to keep himself from falling over.
Lance Light: Impken, get off!
Impken: Kekeke!
Flaradise: Impken. (Sigh) What are we going to do with you?
Sun Dragon: You know this imp Flare? Lance?
The imp jumped off Lance with a flip and landed on the ground. He was the same size as Lance, completely black skinned with large yellow cat-like eyes and a red bandana with the Dark elemental symbol on it. He had three fingers on both his hands, and had a double tipped tail.
Impken: Hi ya there! Name's Impken! How's it going? Who's this guy? New student ay? Nice meeting you too!
Flaradise: Impken, slow down please! This is Sun Dragon, and yes he is new here.
Lance Light: This is Impken, a sneaky litte imp that just loves trouble making. Better check your pockets twice when he's around.
Sun Dragon: Oh that's alright then. I don't have pockets.
Impken:(quietly) Darn. (Normal tone) I mean, so what? I at least return your stuff if it is me. Unlike that Crocavile freak.
Sun Dragon: Oh, you know Crocavile?
Impken: Yeah, I live down the hall from him. We pickpocket each other all the time. Why? You know him?
Sun Dragon: I live down the hall from him too! I rather enjoy his company. He's a great pranking partner!
Impken: Oh yeah? Well, I'm even better! We should totally prank someone sometime! Like Crocavile!
Sun Dragon: Ah, giving him a taste of his own medicine. I don't know though. I know a guy who is great to prank! Me and Crocavile pranked him just a few days ago and you should've seen it! We made him trip and trigger a system that caused a bucket of ice water onto him! And he was a Fire elemental! You should've seen the steam!
Flaradise: What?! You did that? I thought it was just Crocavile who did that to Monitar!
Sun Dragon: Hmm? You know Monitar too?
Lance Light: They share the same combat class. Of course they know each other.
Impken: You pranked Monitar?! In front of his crush? Ooooooohhhh, you are so screwed Sunny! You better hope you don't fight me pal! I'll beat you to mince meat for dat!
Fortunately for Sun Dragon, Astroblast and Nightfall came back with their pairings. Impken was forced to wait till after the training to "avenge" his friend's friend. Fortunately for Impken, his training session was first. Perfect for showing Sun Dragon what this little imp was capable of!
Impken: Watch and learn... to regret your mistakes, Sunny!
His opponent was a Light elemental cadet named Pegaslash, a Pegasus that stood on his hind legs, wore a gray hoodie and black pants, and had a pair of feathered wings. Oh yeah, and since he was studying to be a Trap Master, he had two large swords of Light elemental Traptanium. Nothing major. Impken, though never having faced against Pegaslash before, knew he had this in the bag. Impken pulled his bandana over his mouth and prepared to pounce. Pegaslash held tightly around the handles of his swords, ready to pull them from their sleeves.
As soon as Astroblast gave the "go ahead", Impken dashed circles around Pegaslash faster then the eye can blink! Pegaslash was immediately confused by how a creature could run so fast and as to how to approach the situation. Should he try swinging his swords around and hope a hit lands or use his Rainboom ability? Or something else entirely? He could tell Impken would pause before dashing again, but Impken only took a second before dashing again.
Impken: Over here! No, over here! Something wrong with your eye sight? You're too slow! Hey! Come on! What's holding you up? Kekeke!
Pegaslash was beginning to get dizzy from having to turn around constantly trying to keep an eye on his opponent. That's when Impken decided to strike. It started with ramming into Pegasus, pushing Pegaslash a little. Then it quickly went to actually clawing Pegaslash, all while still dashing. Impken kept it up for a while till he finally ran out of breath and stopped at his starting place.
Impken:(panting) Okay... your move!
Pegaslash:(groan)
Pegaslash nearly fell to his knees. The only thing keeping him up from falling over was one of his swords embedded into the ground as Pegaslash held a tight grip on it. Pegaslash wasn't bleeding by any means, Impken didn't do that much damage. He just managed to wear Pegaslash out is all. Impken gave him a moment to recover, since Impken was wore out too.
Pegaslash:(panting slowly) Sorry to disappoint you, young Impken.... I-I yield.
Nightfall: Victory to Impken! Point for the Dark Class!
Impken: Phew! That was easy! Let's see you top dat, Sunny!
Sun Dragon: Looking forward to it, Impken! Impressive moves by the way!
Impken: Aw, thanks! But buttering up to your enemies wouldn't make their attacks any gentler pal!
Sun Dragon: Those are surprisingly wise words Impken. I must remember to use that one sometime!
Impken:😕 You serious?
After a few more cadets went, it was Sun Dragon's turn. His opponent was a Dark elemental cadet named Fangz. Fangz was a vampire, but a strange one at that. His fangs were longer then normal, had claws on his hands and feet, had large bat-like wings from his back, and for a weapon he carried a large talking sword name Shade Bane. This was going to be interesting. Fangz stood with Shade Bane pointed toward Sun Dragon(kinda like how Cloud Strife always carries his sword), while Sun Dragon just stood there supposedly ready for anything.
Shade Bane: Now remember Fangz, this student is new to us. Never fought against any of us before. He's capable of anything.
Fangz: Right. Got it.
Sun Dragon: Nice sword boy! Hope your wit is as sharp as your sword looks!
Fangz: Was... that an insult?
Shade Bane: I believe he meant it as a taunt, master Fangz.
Astroblast: May the training begin!
As soon as Fangz heard the call, he rushed toward Sun Dragon, preparing to swing Shade Bane. Sun Dragon jumped like a spring to avoid the attack. Expecting for Sun Dragon to attack from behind, Fangz immediately turned and swung his sword. Only to see that Sun Dragon was no where to be seen.
Fangz: 😲 What?! Where'd he go?
Shade Bane: Fangz! Upon me!
Fangz turned and was put into shock. Sun Dragon was somehow standing on his hind legs balanced on the very tip of Shade Bane, just a couple of feet away from Fangz!
Sun Dragon: One must be light on their feet as well as to look all ways, young Fangz.
Fangz: What?
Shade Bane: Fangz, don't let him distract you! He's playing with your experience!
Sun Dragon: I am actually playing! Playing the role of the wise man who teaches his students a lesson. Such as this!
Sun Dragon suddenly jumped. Fangz tried to follow with his eyes, but the sun was blinding him. He felt Sun Dragon jump kick him in his chest and was pushed to the ground. When Fangz got up, he realized he had let go of Shade Bane during the attack. He was shocked to see Sun Dragon actually wielding his sword!
Shade Bane: Fangz, stay focused!
Sun Dragon: The sword is only as good as its wielder, young one. Hope I'm as good as I look!
Sun Dragon then started doing a helicopter spin, with Shade Bane as his weapon! Fangz decided to turn to his Dark Mist form and was successful in evading the attack. He also managed to take Sun Dragon by surprise, who wasn't expecting his opponent to turn into a mist cloud. Fangz quickly came up with a plan to block the sunlight from Sun Dragon and surrounded him in black mist, taking his sword back in the process. Turning back to his normal self, Fangz held Shade Bane tightly as he dived from the sky, preparing to give Sun Dragon the finishing blow.
Suddenly a bright light was emitted from within the black mist cloud, blinding Fangz and despatching the mist. Sun Dragon used one of his pearls to rid the darkness that blinded him! Fangz was forced to land and wait until his eye sight recovered. By the time it did, Sun Dragon launched a Sunblast orb at Fangz, causing him to be knocked to the ground and to let go of Shade Bane again. When he opened his eyes, Sun Dragon pointed Shade Bane at Fangz's chest.
Sun Dragon: I assume you've had enough young Fangz, hm?
Shade Bane: There's no shame in defeat son. You can't take too much more of this. You've done well.
Fangz:(panting)....I...I yield, Sun Dragon. You win.
Astroblast: Victory to Sun Dragon! Point for the Light Class!
Impken:😲
Everyone else:*cheers*
Sun Dragon handed Shade Bane to Fangz and helped him up. After making sure there were no serious injuries Sun Dragon walked over to Impken, whose mouth was agape from the showcase of skill he just witnessed.
Sun Dragon: Perhaps we shouldn't fight later Impken. You look awful worn out.
Impken: Y-yeah, maybe you're right (chuckles nervously). Maybe we shouldn't fight. I am feeling a bit "run down" now that you mention it.😓
Sun Dragon: Glad to hear it, Impken! Oh Flaradise, I'm sorry me and Crocavile pranked Monitar a few days ago like we did. I didn't know you two were friends. I'll apologize to Monitar as soon as I can. Do you forgive me?
Flaradise: Of course, Sun Dragon. As shocked as I am for hearing you committing such a thing, I understand you oriental dragons can be playful and do mean well. Plus you did apologize to me, and for that, I forgive you.
Sun Dragon: Thank you Flaradise. And forgive me Impken, will you? I know that I probably frightened you somewhat when you saw my skills as a fighter. I didn't mean to.
Impken: Oh no, ya didn't "frighten" me Sunny! Not at all😅! Besides, if Flare forgives you, I forgive you too. Ka-pish?
Sun Dragon:(chuckle) Ka-pish, Impken.😊
After the training was over and the Dark Class won by two points, Sun Dragon decided to check on Fangz to see if he had wounded his pride.
Sun Dragon: Fangz! Fangz, I wanted to make sure you didn't have a grudge against me or anything.
Fangz: Oh no, no. You're fine, Sun Dragon. I'm impressed really. You're a good sparring partner.
Sun Dragon: You're not too bad yourself Fangz! And it's always good to see you again Shade Bane!
Shade Bane: It's been too long Sun Dragon.
Fangz:😨 You two know each other?!
Shade Bane: A blade can have many masters, master Fangz.
Sun Dragon: I knew one of Shade Bane's previous wielders Fangz. And I say you made a fitting choice Shade. Fangz is worthy to wield you.
Shade Bane: Thank you, Sun Dragon.
They walked on, discussing things such as Shade Bane's previous wielder. And maybe what all Sun Dragon said during the fight meant, because Fangz wasn't used to solving riddles.

Phew! Finally finished this! Sorry it took so long. I was busy with stuff, like my birthday, my Devaintart profile, my pychopathic cousin. On top of that I was being lazy 😴. You know, the normal stuff. I already have some of the next chapter done, so hopefully I won't take so long on that one. I also have the next few chapters figured out, so I'll hopefully be writing those soon. I do want to remind you guys that I do have other books that I try to work on, so forgive me if I jump from book to book. You can check them out too if you want. Any who, peace!🐉
