Chapter 43 (Edited)

A/N: 1 Chapter left (Epilogue)

Ok so this is basically the last chapter chapter. Next chapter is the epilogue and I'll be posting that after this. (I finished the book. xD)

"Will she still be kicked out of the pack?" a female voice asked, waking me from my well needed slumber. A hand touched my forehead, and I couldn't help but stiffen slightly, because I didn't know who it was. "I mean, she has been banned."

"I don't care," my twin brother said. "If she is, then I'll be banned also. And unlike her, I would actually do something illegal that requires banning."

"Brody," the female, with the hand on my face, scold him. "That is no way to act."

"She's my twin, and the only reason that I didn't stand up for her was because I knew that she wouldn't want me to." Brody growled, and I knew that his ears were back and teeth bared. "And if that female ever tries to make her life miserable again, then I'm going to kill her." There was another growl, shaking the bed.

A small smile appeared on my face, because I was glad that my twin would be by my side.

"Yes, and you two would wreak havoc on the rest of us," John said, causing Brody to snort. "You can open your eyes, Martha. I know that you are awake."

I opened my eyes and saw that all of my family was gathered in the medium sized room. My throat was dry, and I instantly made a signal for a glass of water.

John went to get me a glass of water, while Mom helped me sit up. He came back and handed me a small bit of water in a cup. "I don't know if you are dehydrated or not. I don't want you to get sick, so you'll just have to drink it like this."

I frowned at him, my stomach growling. However, I took the cup and drank it before handing it back to him wanting more water. After five times like this, my throat was feeling better, and I was feeling slightly more alive. "Thanks," I said, hoarsely, wiping my mouth.

"Well? How'd it go?" Nick asked, causing his twin brother to smack him upside the head. "O-ow," Nick said, glaring at his brother. "What was that for?"

"It's for you to shut up," Mike replied, glaring at him. "She got back a day ago, remember?"

I frowned. "I slept a whole day?"

"Well, you were exhausted," Mom replied. "Did you sleep well?" There was a scowl in her voice, causing me to roll my eyes.

"It wasn't their fault, Mom," I said. "I had to make a two week journey into five days, so I didn't sleep at all." After that, I told them everything that had happened in all the time that I had been away.

"So, let me get this straight, you are attracted to a guy that wouldn't listen and offended you?" Abigail asked, glaring at me.

"Did you forget the part where he was actually made for me?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "He told me himself that he only treated me the way that he did was because he was attracted to me and felt like he was cheating on his father." I glanced at my father and knew what he was going to ask. "And no, he never laid a hand on me." I looked at John. "And yes, I'm still a virgin."

"I want to meet him," John said, giving me a hard look.

"You will on Christmas," I muttered, looking down.

"What?!" my mother hissed. "You invited a total stranger to our Christmas Party? Not to mention a Horse?"

"What's the deal if he is a horse or not?" I asked, glancing at her. "It's not their fault for what had happened to us."

"You are a Wolf, you should-"

"I am more than a Wolf! I am the Almair! I will not go around blaming other clans just because of some stupid Dark Forces that made us act like the way we act." My voice turned softer and colder with each word that I spoke. I was furious that my mother was accusing me of cheating on my pack. "Now, everyone out. I am tired."

Everyone left except for Brody, who moved to my side and not at the foot of the bed where he had been laying.

I glared at him, however he didn't move from his spot, watching me with amused eyes. "Fine, you can stay," I growled out, before laying back down.

"Come outside when you are up again," John said. With that, he left, and I was out like a light.

It's been a month since I had last stepped foot into the kitchen. My whole body was tense, because I could still hear my screams and begging for someone to take the pain away. My breath turned ragged, and I couldn't help but let two tears fall out of my eyes, because I had felt so helpless.

A soft whine and a wet nose pressed against my skin, breaking me from my thoughts. Brody's concerned eyes looked up to mine when I looked down at him. "You aren't in this alone. I'm your twin, and I'll be here with you every step of the way."

"Promise?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper.

Brody gave me a wolfish grin before bobbing his head. "Promise." He nuzzled my clenched fist. "Come on, let's go and see what Faolon has to say."

I took a shuddering breath before I walked into the kitchen and then out into the backyard.

Ever had that feeling of déjà vu, where a scene kept playing over and over again? It had felt like this had happened so many times, but in reality, it had only happened once? Well, that was what I was feeling now when I walked into the clearing that was filled with wolves.

All of their eyes were on me. Some of them had respect while others had surprise in them. Even others, but a few, had a look of hatred or fear.

I glanced at everyone's eye, my chin held up high. I was the Almair, and I deserved the respect of my pack as well as the other clans.

Half of the wolves bowed their heads to me when they made eye contact to me, but the others just met my gaze, causing me to growl softly.

Someone cleared their throat up front, and I finally turned to see Faolon, Lobo, and Tupac standing up at the front.

Guilt filled my system, because I had left without my Alpha's permission when I was supposed to be banned. A small whine came from my tight lips while I knelt in front of him and turned so that my neck was towards him in submission. I didn't meet his gaze, not wanting to see what he was feeling.

"Go with your family, Brody," Faolon said.

I could feel Brody glance at me and only moved when he saw me nod my head a little, as a yes. I still didn't look at them, even when Tupac chuckled in amusement as to how Brody listened to me and not Faolon.

"You disobeyed my orders, Martha," Faolon began when Brody was with our family. "You asked for help from others when you were not supposed to be talking to them. You ran away from your house, causing everyone to panic. You came in contact with another clan when you were not supposed to. You left without my permission and completed your training without my permission," he growled out at me, causing me to bite my lip to keep from lashing out at him. He sighed. "And, I want to apologize."

I looked up, startled. Did I hear him right? I couldn't help but blink and looked at the sincerity he had in his eyes.

"I know that this is all difficult for you, and I wasn't doing what an Alpha should have been doing. I didn't support you like I should have but kept you in the dark, making you find answers elsewhere. With that, I want to apologize and offer my position to you." With that, he whined softly and went into the submission pose. He waited for me to show my power over him, but I had sat there frozen with my mouth open.

Finally after a couple of minutes, I closed my mouth and shook my head. "No," I said, my voice clear. "You made mistakes, but they were not so bad that you have to give up your position. If I didn't leave, then I wouldn't have found someone." My face turned red when I thought of Matt. "You are still the Alpha of the pack, and even Alpha's make mistakes. You are a stronger Alpha because you have realized your mistakes and apologized for them."

While I had said this, Faolon had rolled over onto his stomach before sitting down. He looked at me, cocking his head, trying to judge my motives. "You have earned my respect, Martha. A few of the packmates would have jumped at the opportunity to become Alpha." He glanced around, frowning at those who would. "However, I do want you to promise me something." He turned to look at me. "I want you to be the Alpha of the pack if I ever die. I think you will be able to handle the responsibility as well as your responsibility as the Almair and the True One." A smirk appeared on his lips, and I knew that he was trying to challenge me.

I puffed out my cheeks and narrowed my eyes. "Deal," I said. "But you better not die on me just yet."

Faolon chuckled and nodded his head. "Deal." He stood up and looked at his pack members. "Martha is rightfully in the pack, again. The ban has been lifted." There were a couple of howls of joy while he looked at me with a smirk. "Now, why don't you show us your horse form?"

A/N: Well, she has been accepted back into the pack. How'd ya'll like it? Were you surprised that Faolon would offer his position up to Martha?

As always, don't forget to vote/comment.

Peace out Fluffy Munchkins,
