Michael

"Daddy!" My youngest daughter exclaims and sprints towards me. My oldest and middle daughters following her at their own pace.

"Hi, sweetie! How was your day?" I say and pick her up in my arms.

She launches into a very long and detailed story about her day at school. I try to focus on everything she is telling me, but my mind is else where. I wait for my other two daughters to catch up to us and then head to the truck. I help all three of them in the truck and make sure all of them are buckled up.

They remind me so much of their mom. She was my best friend during college. She was always there for me.  She was the best girl God could have ever picked out for me. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time. She could still be here with me if she wouldn't have went to the bank. It was a robbery gone wrong. She saved a bank tellers life. She always wanted to know her purpose. That was her purpose. I wish it was different, but I can't do anything about it. God has been here for me and my girls. I just want to keep them safe and be a good dad.

I escaped the wrath of my parents through college. Things were so much better after I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior.

"Daddy, what are we eating for dinner?" My middle daughter asks.

"I don't know. What do you want to eat?" I explain and glance in the rear-view mirror to see my little girls.

"McDonald's!" All  three yell and I laugh.

"Alright! Alright. McDonald's it is." I am a firefighter so it is hard to have a meal prepared for the girls after school. I have a babysitter that has a very flexible schedule so if I get called out, she just comes over to my house and watches the girls. She is a blessing to me and the girls. I thank God for her everyday.

My life is crazy with three daughters all around the same age. I miss my wife everyday, but God will get me through this.
