I've lost you; you were the light of my eyes

And now, I'm stumbling in darkness

Trying to find my way out of this maze

That seems to get deeper and darker, with every step.

Oh! how I regret letting you go now?

Will you ever find me again, my light?

And will you lend me your hands,

Taking me back to the land of sunshine?
