Words that were always locked in my mind,

For I thought, I could keep you trapped in my memory

And I never said goodbye, yet you're gone.

I still remember, how you'd wait for me, at the gate.

How you loved me to pet and scratch behind your ears.

And you gave me the greatest of all gifts in return-loyalty.

And Oh you were loyal to me, my dear!

Always came running to me when I called.

Never once hurting me, even when you're suffering.

I loved how you'd try to sing with me,

Or tried to cheer me up, when I'm down.

You were a great friend, who always listened to my rants.

I confess, now I don't think much about you.

Yet you my dearest canine, has left your imprint, in my mind.

And for all that you were to me, this is my outstanding tribute.
