Prompt- 'Bitter Lemonade' by MiriSaraie

I watch, droplets of water sliding down the glass,

My fingers drawing patterns on its moist surface,

Hands moving on their own accord.

As mind drifts away, to wallow in sorrow,

I look at you, sitting across me in the booth,

So very close, yet miles and miles apart

And as I feel the familiar sting of tears in my eyes

I take a sip of the cool lemonade, wishing for it to soothe my burn

It flows down my throat, leaving a bitter taste in my mouth.

And I realise that no amount of sugar or syrup,

Can make this lemonade taste any better.

I'm out of schedule again.
