Sounds of chatter and laughter drift around us

Yet we remain untouched, engulfed by an impenetrable silence.

Me, in silent anticipation of those words from your lips.

You, probably lost in your own conflicting thoughts.

This torturing pause seems to last forever,

And I try to read in your eyes what you'll never say

Maybe I'm too blind to see what you're telling me without words,

Or maybe you don't understand how much your words mean to me.
