Prompt- 'A threshold or doorway' by MiriSaraie

The sun's rays reach out through the thick curtains.

Beckoning me towards another bright morning.

Yet I dare not cross into the doorway of light,

For beyond this door, they'll see my burns and scars.

They will fix their scathing gazes upon me.

And the fire of ire in their eyes will scald me further more.

I shall remain hiddem within these dark dungeons of night

And pray that the cobwebs of sleep shall conceal me forever.

For if I cross this threshold of wakefulness,

I shall become a sacrilegeous pyre set ablaze by the world's judging eyes.

A bit dark?Yet, I always wished that the nights were much longer.
