Prompt-'Textbooks' by DannyCepul

Knowledge assimilated into bundles of papyrus,

Lines upon lines of facts and figures,

Sometimes devoured, but often despised.

Crisp sheets tinged yellow with use.

The lingering scent of print on crisp paper,

Fading with each night, in which the midnight oil is burned.

A constant companion during days of hardwork,

And a lifeline during those final moments of preparation.

Yet despite the outcome of all those nights and days,

Destined to remain in the corners of a shelf for the rest of it's life.
