An innocent smile on her angelic face,

Her laughter so alike tinkling bells,

The soothing sounds of a familiar melody,

A feeble word of praise; a look of faint approval,

Traces of a sweet distant memory,

Wistful musings of a better morrow,

Lights a fire of hope within my dark soul,

And  engulf my cold heart in a comforting warmth.
