Today is a sad day as actress and writer, Carrie Fisher, has sadly passed away at age 60.

Fisher was best knowed for playing Princess Leia in the Star Wars franchise and for writing such books as Postcards on the Edge and more recently her memoir, The Princess Diarist, which she talks about her time working on the first Star Wars movie.

Mark Hamill, Fisher's costar and onscreen brother, tweeted:

And Billy Dee Williams, actor best known for playing Lando Calrissian in Star Wars tweeted:

Fisher was survived by her family including her mother, film icon Debbie Reynolds, and her daughter, Scream Queens star Billie Lourd.

My thoughts and prayers go out to her family, especially her mother because no parent should ever bury their child.
