Could Smurfs: The Lost Villiage be a decent reboot?

Reboots are usually that word we all hate to heat, because we know Hollywood isn't giving us any original ideas or just simply making a sequel to something. Except the occasional Thriller or Action Movie like Split, Get Out, and John Wick.

But with the upcoming Smurfs movie coming out this week I just got to ask, could this finally be a decent reboot that isn't made by Disney.

Now I already checked some of the early reviews and it turns out, it mainly mixed at this point, basically its not good or bad its just, meh its a watchable movie.

But its also trying to clean up the mess the 2011 and 2013 Smurfs movies did, in fact I already can tell some major differences from those.

First off, all animated, no live action.

The whole huge in world of the Smurfs was bad, and the Smurf redesigns looked creepy, but in this new one, they went back to the original roots, mainly the animation goes back to a mix of the original designs by Peyo and the 1980's cartoon.

Second, no product placement!

Sony is unfortunately known for having product placement in their dilms, and the 2011 Smurf movie had a lot, even some outdated references like this.

This movie is 6 years old and its really out of date because no one plays Guitar Hero, anymore, especially since the Just Dance Games are a thing now. But since theres no product placement in the new movie. Mainly because you know, theirs no room for a Baskin Robbins in the middle of Smurf Villiage. Although the idea of Smurf Berry Ice Cream sounds amazing, a mixed berry ice cream dyed blue.....oh great now I'm hungry!

Third, what I like the most, adding to an already beloved story.

Look we all know there's like 99 dude Smurfs and one Girl, aka Smurfette, even though in The Smurfs 2 they tried to introduce a new female Smurf but no one liked her, mainly because no one wants an Emo Smurf! I know her name was Vexy but still. But in this new one, they break the mold for Smurfette, and gave her more of a backstory, also drops her annoying voice from the old cartoons, and the 2011/13 movies, sorry Katy Perry but Demi Lovato wore it better. (I hate myself for making that joke) Also adding a whole genderswapped village of Smurfs, and from the commercials and trailers I have seen, its all female, there maybe a chance of them being 99 girls and 1 dude but who knows, I haven't seen it yet, I'll probably rent it from redbox here in the states.

Also I like to point out that the new voice actors I like, Jack McBrayer as Clumsy Smurf is more believable.

So what do you think, could Smurfs: The Lost Villiage be a good movie or am I pushing the envelope here because we know sony sucks at reboots? Tell me in the comments.

Also I'm getting closer to starting a new journal or something, I'm running out of pages here.

Also if you got a question for me for my upcoming QNA, leave it in the comments.
