(7) Spicing Up Summer

Millie~

It was a Tuesday in the middle of summer and the bright sun sat high above us in an unblemished sky. We were all out by the pool as the temperatures soared, the boys throwing a ball around in the water while Izzy and I tanned beside. Yesterday, the adults left for the Large Companies of America conference which is held every year. It's a week long event, which means we were left to run wild whilst they were gone. As if. Each year we're given strict instructions on what we must and must not do, and each year it turns out to be the most boring week of the year. Maybe if Jace wasn't such a kiss ass we could have a little more fun, but then again, he is.

I sat up on my sun-lounger and looked around, whining "I'm so bored right now!". Sitting around sunbathing just got really, really old.

"Why don't you come for a dip?" Jace shouted from the pool. All of the boys shouted before splashing around the pool again.

"No, let's do something else... something more interesting..." I started but trailed off at the end as a thought sprang into my mind... Light bulb! (A.N. if you know where that is from, comment below and you win! XD)

"What's that look on you're face, Mill, it scares me" Izzy asked hesitantly, a small smirk playing on the corners of her mouth. She knew I was planning something in my head right now, and so did everybody else because the ball was thrown away and they all climbed out of the pool.

"We're breaking into the Wright's house," I said confidently, a smirk settling onto my face as I grabbed my towel.

"Why did we agree to do this?!" Ryan mumbled for the third time as we hid in the bushes outside of the Wright's house. He pushed his dark hair from his eyes and huffed as I pulled back and branch and released it so it snapped back and hit him on the side of the head.

"Shut up you sissy," I hissed. We were all wearing black, since we wanted to look like some sort of spies - cliché I know, but really, who doesn't want to be a spy? I was wearing black leather leggings, a black tank top, my black leather motorcycle jacket and my black stiletto boots which came up slightly above my ankle. We were all huddled in a circle together as we crouched behind the shrubbery that surrounded the Wrights' mansion.

"Now, has everybody got what they need," I started, looking at everybody. We had planned our sabotage meticulously and everybody had their own piece which would make the puzzle of 'Mess with the Wrights's Heads' complete. They all nodded apart from Tom who was messing around with something in his pocket.

"Tom!" I hissed. Startled, his head snapped up but his hand still fiddling around inside his front pocket.

"One of the mouse traps is stuck in my pocket!" he hissed back, switching his attention back down to his trousers, where he tentatively tried to pry the mouse trap out. We all watched and waited and I knew that everybody was secretly wishing it would go off. The poor boy jerked his hand a little too hard and it snapped; the predator had its prey.

Isaac quickly clamped a hand over Tom's mouth as his eyes narrowed and watered. Brent, who would be in Tom and Isaac's team, snatched the mouse trap from his hand and shoved it into one of his pockets, whilst all of us stifled laughs.

Quickly, we sobered up since none of us wanted to get caught; well at least not before we had carried out our sabotage. It had been an effort and a half just to get past the security on the gates, however with a decoy like James, there was no doubt we wouldn't get through. James and Rob were in one of the cars outside the front gates and could talk to us by ear piece. They would be ready for a quick escape if we needed it. This meant that there were nine of us breaking in, so three groups of three. We each had our own pranks to pull once inside the house but first of all we had to focus on getting inside.

"Ok, spread out and look for a way to get in," I ordered and all of us split up into our groups. Tom, Brent and Isaac went one way, Izzy, Jace and Ryan went another way, which left me, Jesse and Todd. How I managed to pull the short straw and end up with these two clowns I do not know, but the thing I do know is that we needed to get in. We started off along the hedgerow, looking for a chance to get into the house. Some may call it breaking and entering, but that really wasn't the case, we were just innocently paying a visit to our dear friends.

"The strong, the mighty, the forces of evil can never destroy," Todd started whisper-singing the intro part from the song Wonderman by Tinie Tempah and Ellie Goulding.

"The power of the Wonderman, and though the most formidable journey lies ahead," Jesse carried on.

"Only one will prevail, Wonder, wonder, Wonderman!" they both continued on together.

"Ah, yeah-"Jesse began rapping but I quickly punched them both lightly in the stomach.

"Do you want to get caught?!" I hissed as they grinned. "Anymore singing and I will hand you over to the Wrights myself, understand?" I finished, glaring at them both and shuffling around the corner. I heard them sniggering and shook my head, glancing upwards only to a see an open window. Bingo.

I motioned silently to Todd and Jesse, who came to my side and looked up. They smiled evilly at me and we walked up to the outer wall of the house and looked up. The window wasn't that high and Todd hoisted me up to stand on his shoulders.

"Seriously, you had to wear heels?" Todd groaned as they dug into his shoulders. I chuckled, rolling my eyes and muttering 'baby' under my breath. My fingertips latched onto the window ledge, but I didn't have enough height to climb in.

"Higher!" I whisper-shouted down to Todd. He grimaced and took my feet in his hands so that he could lift me up higher, locking his arms out so that he looked like some mega weightlifter. I had more of a grip on the ledge now and was able to raise myself up to look into the room. Thankfully, there was nobody in it; however it seemed to be a bedroom. It most likely belonged to a boy because of the inappropriate posters that covered the walls.

"All clear," I said to Todd and Jesse as I pulled myself in through the window, trying to land as lightly as possible.

"I'm in," I spoke into my headset that had been quiet for a while. Rob had always been a bit of a spy geek and had tonnes of spy gear, including awesome headsets; a microphone that attached to your shirt collar and a small earpiece.

"Ok, now put some rope down," Todd's voice came through my earpiece. I spoke once more into my microphone, telling him to hold on while at the same time pulling out my red marker pen. I wrote PERVERT all across the posters that covered the walls, a smirk plastered across my face. Whichever Wright this room belonged to was in for one hell of a surprise. When I was done, I stood back to admire my work, before unraveling a coil of rope attached to my belt and lowering it out of the window. Soon enough Todd and Jesse were in the room.

"Original," Jesse commented as he crossed his arms over his chest and surveyed my work. I smirked at him, before walking over to the door and looking through the key hole. Once I was sure the coast was clear, I opened the door a crack. I peeked out and looked at the clear hallways, before motioning to the boys to follow me as I stepped out of the room.

"Rob, where to now?" I asked as I spoke quietly into my microphone. By now he would have hacked into the video cameras situated around the house and would have found our location as well as our destination. As it turns out the Wrights have the same security system as us, which Rob has apparently hacked many times and is a 'pro'.

"Okay, I've got you," he began, "Go straight down the hall and turn right at the end, then you need to take a left, and then another right," he hurriedly read out instructions, "I have to go, Izzy, Jace and Ryan are having troubles finding the water supply," he said before the line cut off. I shook my head, annoyed. Thanks a lot, Rob - NOT!

"This way," I said, following the instructions Rob had just given me I walked down the hall slowly. I pressed myself against the wall as I got to the first corner. Peering around, I checked if anyone was there. Thankfully, the hallway was clear so we moved out and took a right. After taking a left and another right, our destination, the bathroom, was no where to be seen.

"Rob!" I hissed down my microphone. No answer. I tried again. No answer. I groaned internally. We would never find it. We walked cautiously down to the end of the hallway.

"Right or left?" I asked Todd and Jesse. They both pointed in different directions, Todd pointing left and Jesse pointing right.

I sighed, "Eenie, meenie, mynie, mo," I began, reciting the rhyme used to choose things. "The black cat says it must not be you," I finished, pointing towards the left.

"Owww," Todd whined in disappointment.

"Ha! The black cat said my way!" Jesse jeered immaturely. They were in the middle of pulling faces at each other when I slapped them both around the back of the head.

"How old are you?!" I asked, annoyed as they rubbed the backs of their heads, Jesse throwing Todd a final smirk as I motioned angrily for them to follow, turning right down the hallway. We did this again at the end of another hallway and went left instead. It was safe to say we were lost inside the Wrights' house. Actually, I was surprised we hadn't met anybody yet. It turns out I spoke too soon.

"I can't believe he actually said that!" a girl's voice broke through the empty halls. Our eyes widened as the voice grew closer.

"I know! She shouldn't have done that either though, lets be honest," the girl's voice was nearer and panicking I dived into one of the rooms to our right. Todd and Jesse followed my lead and jumped in, closing the door quietly behind them. It was dark in the room but I pressed myself up against the door, listening for any signs of the voice. Luckily, the voice died away. When I could hear it no more, I let out the breath I had been holding in. Todd, or Jesse, flipped on the light, and after my eyes had adjusted, I looked around.

"Jackpot," I smirked as I looked around the room, or to be exact, the bathroom.

***

I stood up and surveyed our work, rubbing my hands together, an evil smirk settled firmly on my skin. Jesse and Todd came to stand beside me as we took a moment to admire our work.

"Boom," I said, as I high-fived Jesse, "Shacka," I turned and high-fived Todd, "Lacka," they high-fived each other, grinning.

"The water has been contaminated," Jace's voice crackled through the earpiece. I smiled. Wait! They hadn't actually poisoned the water, well, unless you call putting laxatives in the water poisoning.

"The mouse traps and feathers have been put in place," Tom's voice laughed evilly.

"The bathroom has been successfully booby-trapped," I added through my microphone. "Now let's clear out,"

***

"I can't believe we are lost, again!" I groaned as we got to another turning.

"My turn to choose, let's go-"Jesse started but was cut off by a noise from behind us.

We turned around to see Scott Wright-Webber standing the other end of the hallway looking very confused and as though he couldn't believe three Wards were standing opposite to him, in his house.

"RUN!!!!" I called, turning right down the hallway, Todd and Jesse running close behind me.

"Quick, he's gaining on us!!" Todd shouted as I turned another corner. I could hear the adrenaline in his voice but also the insane amount of amusement which had built as we scurried through the labyrinth that was the Wrights' mansion, turning whichever way I felt like turning. I heard Scott shouting for help as we ran down the hallways. Suddenly, we came out at the top of a massive set of double stairs. I ran down one side, Todd and Jesse ran down the other. I ran straight for the massive double doors in front of me. However, I knew it was too good to be true, since right on cue, Noah Wright popped out in front of me. He folded his arms across his chest and smirked. He thought he had us.

"I didn't know we had visitors," he drawled, his smirk widening. I went to punch him just like last time but he caught my hand in his own mid-swing.

"Not again, Millie," he scolded patronisingly. I sighed. I had had enough of the Wrights for one day, and lifted my heel up swiftly, digging it into his foot. His eyes widened in pain and his grip loosened on my hand. Seizing the chance to inflict pain, I grabbed it and flipped him onto the floor.

"Bye, bye," I said as I bent over him, fake innocence clouding my voice, before heaving open the doors and running out, with Todd and Jesse in tow. Halfway down the drive, I glanced over my shoulder. Most of the Wright kids were stood in the doorway. I turned around, smirking before curtseying mockingly. At the same time, Todd saluted and Jesse bowed. We all laughed and ran down the drive. After carefully but very easily dodging the security, we were out.

"What a rush!" Jesse called, whooping as we reached the car where the others were waiting for us. We all jumped in and sped off, not wanting to hang around for too long. Todd and Jesse then began to recount our story to the others.

"You put that Noah in his place, yet again. I'm a proud brother," Todd said, placing his hand over his heart mockingly.

I pulled a face at him, "He's such a cocky little dick!"

Everybody laughed. This week was no longer boring!
