(5) 2 Punches, 1 Day
Millie~
I knew it was them as soon as I heard that first crash at the door. Jace, Rob and Isaac stood up as Oliver, Sam and Louise walked in. These three were the oldest of the Wright kids and I had seen them once or twice before. Louise entered in front of Oliver and Sam, her hand placed confidently on her hip and her face narrowed into a smirk. She was wearing a tight fitting black dress with a scooping V neck line and cobalt blue heels. Oliver and Sam were wearing jeans and shirts, their hands in their pockets but their heads held high with commanding presence.
Then came the rest. Two girls that looked exactly the same entered. It was easy to guess that the leggy, dark haired look-alikes were the twins, Islay and Ivy Wright-Webber. Now came the not so easy job of guessing who all of the boys were.
A tall boy with the same dark brown hair and brown eyes walked in closely behind them. He too wore jeans and a shirt and surveyed the room before glancing at the amazonian girls in front of him with a cautious and brotherly look. I was about to make a guess when Todd whispered in my ear behind me.
"Scott Wright-Webber," I nodded softly, smirking to myself, he was a male version of his sisters.
Next two boys entered, each looking to be about the same age as me. One had dark hair with dark eyes whilst the other was his opposite, with blonde, shaggy hair and light brown eyes. They both grinned to each other and carried a wild and care-free air, quite clearly the joking pair of the family.
"Holden Wright," Todd whispered, referring to the dark haired boy who entered first, "Seth Wright-Faire," he also whispered, referring to the lighter haired boy. Nodding softly, my eyes narrowed slightly as Seth's eyes flickered to mine and winked. I felt the boys around me tense as they caught the gesture. Seth's grin grew as he and Holden bumped fists.
Noah Wright entered next; his lighter brown hair and brown eyes indicated that he was a son of Maisie Wright. He wore a scowl on his face as he surveyed the room. He was followed closely by Reece Wright, who I guessed by process of elimination. I seemed to have lost my informant after the wink from Seth as I was pretty he was calming himself so as not to rip his head clean off.
Finally, there was only one more Wright to enter the party - Nick Wright. He was the most... famous of all of the Wright kids. He was your typical player. His position of quarterback on the West Side football team gave him instant sex appeal and unsuprisingly all of the sluts fell at his feet. Even though I had never seen him before, I knew exactly what to expect. However, nothing could have prepared me for what I saw step through the door. His brown hair fell across his forehead and his chocolate brown eyes sparkled with amusement as my 'Mystery Boy' stepped into the room.
It took everything I had not to let my jaw fall out of its socket whilst hitting the ground - I didn't even let myself gasp. 'Mystery Boy' was a Wright?! And not just any Wright, he was Nick Wright?! More importantly, I had saved a Wright?! I mentally slapped myself and looked towards him. He was staring right back at me, smirking. My eyes narrowed, cocky little jackass - nobody messes with Millie Wards head!
The music had turned right down, "Well, well, well, look who's decided to gate-crash," Jace spoke coolly.
"Last time I checked, you can't gate-crash if you're invited, Ward" Louise replied confidently, narrowing her eyes as she spat out our name.
"Save yourselves the trouble and get out," more authority had crept into Jace's voice as he spoke again.
"Make us," Lou confidently shot back at him, placing a hand on her hip and smirking, before the entire Wright group scattered itself throughout the party. Nick shot me a lingering smirk and walked off as the music turned up once again and the beat pounded the walls as it had done before. The thought of the Wrights being in the same school as us, let alone the same house party made my skin crawl. Moreover the thought that I had saved one from being beaten up and had a friendly conversation with him was even worse.
I swirled my vodka lemonade around in the glass. Staring at the whirlpool created in the center as the clear liquid sloshed around, I wished that at that very moment I would be sucked into it. Of course that wasn't going to happen anytime soon. I sighed and looked up from my drink, my eyes flicked across the room to where a dark figure stood. He caught my eye and smirked at me. I quickly averted my gaze, narrowing my eyes at him before I looked away. Just seeing him do that made my blood boil. I angrily downed the rest of my drink before pushing myself off of the bar.
"I'm going to get some air," I said, slamming my glass down on the bar. Before anybody could protest or ask questions I was already off and walking out of the house. I pushed the door open and walked out into the brisk air. I walked down the concrete steps of the house and the stone paved path that cut through the front garden, finally leading out onto the street. I followed it out and walked along the road quickly, my heels clicking against the concrete.
I carried on till I could no longer hear the pounding music. I didn't know how far away from the party I actually was but soon there was a park running beside me. I saw a bench and slumped down onto it, staring out into the darkness. My hands, which were balled into fists slowly loosened themselves and relaxed. I shut my eyes, replaying the first moment I had seen him properly in the alleyway. There was nothing about him that could have indicated to me that he was a Wright, loads of people have light brown hair and eyes to match... right? I also remembered when he told me he had an older sister or when he refused my offer to give him a ride, or when he left right before we got into East Side - but why should that have made me suspicious?!
"Ugh!!" I groaned, banging my fist down on the bench beside me. It was so frustrating!! The worst thing was that he knew exactly who I was.
A shuffle from behind me drew me from my thoughts. I jumped up from the bench and wheeled around, preparing myself for an attack, my hands balling themselves back into fists. Nick Wright. My eyes narrowed, however I didn't move.
"What the fuck are you doing?" I half screamed at him raising my eyebrows. Freaking idiot, what was wrong with him!?
"Girls like you shouldn't be wandering around alone at night," he replied, stepping more into the light. I still didn't mind, I could take 7 of him all at once - one stupid Wright didn't scare me.
I scoffed in reply and crossed my arms across my chest, "Girls like me? Yeah, let's just remember who the rescuer is, shall we?"
"So, I'm guessing you didn't know who I was?" he asked, brushing off the comment I had just thrown at him and raising an eyebrow at me. When I didn't immediately reply, he smirked at me and shoved his hands in his pockets.
I gritted my teeth and narrowed my eyes even more. "I'm guessing you knew who I was," I replied finally.
"Of course I knew who you were. How could I not - we are enemies," he said, his voice sounding smooth and effortless, like liquid gold, and emphasising the fact that I was the one who had been clueless to the enemy.
"Leave me alone, Wright," I hissed. I walked past him, never letting him out of my vision, and back along the pavement I had come towards the party. Even though I could not see him, I knew exactly where he was. Four steps behind me and slightly to my right, but only ever so slightly. So when he came too close, I wheeled around and floored him, just as I should have done when I first saw him by the bench. His brown eyes sparkled with shock as he lay on the floor, dazed by what had just happened.
"Still think I shouldn't be out on my own?" I smirked at him, looking between us and at him on the ground, before pushing myself off him and walking down the street back to the party. I jogged up the steps of the house and spotted Izzy, Todd, Jace, Rob and Isaac beside the bar and swiftly moved towards them.
"Can we go now? This party turned lame ever since the Wrights arrived. Everybody else here is staring at us because they think some big fight is going to break out," I said, quickly looking around the party for any Wrights. Noah, Scott, Louise, Reece and Sam were a bit further down the bar; however they probably couldn't hear me. They were stood much like us, talking amongst each other and clearly not enjoying the party as much as they should, their brows furrowing now and then.
There were a couple of blonde girls sitting in-between us and they kept looking between us expectantly. Exactly what I meant. Straight after I had said that, Nick came in from the doors that led into the back garden. At least he didn't make it look suspicious I thought as he began walking towards the members of his family who were further down the bar than us. I looked away because he would have to walk past us.
Todd stood up a little straighter and elbowed Isaac, smirking and discreetly nodded towards Nick, who was nearing. I kept watching them, not knowing what was going on, but pretty sure whatever they were planning was going to be cheeky.
"Let's make it a bit more interesting for you then, Mill," Todd whispered to me in reply to my previous comment and he stuck his foot out right as Nick walked past. Nick didn't see and his sorry ass was on the ground quicker than you could say 'floored'. An immature feat, I know, but it would make things a little more interesting. Todd and the others had all turned back towards each other and were acting as if nothing had happened. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Nick scramble back to his feet and brush himself off, before glaring at my brother. He walked right up to him and pushed him around to face him.
"Fucking mature of you, Ward!" he hissed through his teeth at Todd. I rolled my eyes as the music once again was turned down. This is what everybody who wasn't a Wright or a Ward wanted to witness.
"Back off, Wright," I said, pushing him away from Todd with one hand. He stumbled back slightly, however he was too strong for me to make anything worth its full impact.
"Little Millie Ward, defending her poor little brothers," Noah jeered as he came up behind his brother along with most of his family.
"You use the word 'little' far too much, Wright," I shot back, folding my arms and narrowing my eyes again.
"Oh yeah?" Noah taunted, imitating the movements. That was it!
"Oh yeah!" I growled with smug satisfaction as I swung my arm out as powerfully as I could and punched him straight across the face. Second punch of the day. Maybe I have anger problems, but they both provoked me. He stumbled back slightly, clutching his face slightly. And that was when all hell broke loose...

"I can't believe you did something so stupid, Millie!" Dad roared at me as he paced the room. Uncle Mick and Uncle Mason were also there as I sat in my Dad's chair.
"He provoked me - he called me little!!" I replied, clenching my fists. After I punched Noah things went mental. A full on Ward vs. Wright fight broke out and lets just say, being sent home from a party by the police because you started a fight doesn't sit well with your parents. The police don't have anything on us; they never do for Ward vs. Wright situations. To be honest, there never has been a situation. I mean, I didn't know what most of them looked like until tonight.
"How did this confrontation begin?!!" he asked, ignoring what I had just said and crossing his arms across his chest.
"Well... that's an interesting one..." I said, trailing off. I saw Uncle Mick shake his head, chuckling slightly behind my dad, his green eyes sparkling with amusement, almost as if he could predict what I would say next
"What happened?!" Dad repeated, seriously, his brow furrowing.
"Well... ToddtrippedNickWrightup..." I said quickly. My father's eyes widened as he registered what his clown of a son had done. I saw Uncle Mitch and Uncle Mason high-fiving each other in the background secretly, and suppressed a giggle.
"Dad! You should be congratulating us! Four of them got punched in the face - none of us did!" I said, trying to brighten the mood. Dad just shook his head at me and nodded towards the door.
"Go on, Millie, go to bed," he told me with a sigh. I got up and walked towards the door. "How hard did you punch the Wright boy?" I heard my dad call to me as I was about to exit the room. I turned around to look at him, a confused expression on my face. He was now sitting in his chair at his desk and I could see a flicker of amusement in his face as he spoke again.
I smirked at him, "Pretty hard," before walking off.

"Dudes, the fair is back in town, I thought we could celebrate Toddy's release from prison today!" Jace smirked as he walked into the kitchen and slapped a flyer for the fair down onto the table.
He didn't mean prison literally. The morning after the party, Dad had grounded Todd for a week for immature behaviour, I quote he should have been embarrassed to have the mental attitude of a two year old, and not a clever two year old for that. Despite Todd's protests about how Nick deserved it, Dad wouldn't relent so Todd had been stuck in the house for a week.
We all agreed and after breakfast headed out to the pool. Going out to the pool was a ritual in the summer. We would go out almost everyday. The sun was gleaming and made the water in the pool sparkle. Izzy and I stripped down to our bikinis and took up our places on the sun loungers. The good thing about where we lived was that in the summer it got really hot and we took advantage of that by working on our tans. I put in my ear-plugs as the shouting began and all of the boys jumped into the pool.
The day passed quickly and the night began to draw in as the fair beckoned. The temperature dropped so I put on my Black Milk Purple Galaxy leggings, a flowy white tank top with a peace sign on it, my trusty black leather jacket and finally my Jeffery Campbell Black Litas.
The fair was only a short drive away so we took two cars and were there in the shortest of times. As I got out of the car, the smell of hot dogs and cotton candy hit me as the cool night breeze swept across my face. I looked up at the bright lights of the Ferris wheel and the various other rides and smiled to myself. I don't think I could ever get tired of fairs.
We paid for our tickets and were soon let loose inside the fair. "Toddy gets to pick the first ride," Jace called out as we entered, pushing his younger brother forward. Todd rubbed his hands together and surveyed the area as he decided which ride to pick. Knowing him, it would be a ride that would either completely humiliate us or bore us to death - for some reason, Todd seemed to get pleasure out of seeing other people in those situations.
"The Flying Elephants!" Todd called out, motioning towards the children's ride which was near us and jumping up and down on the spot mocking us. He knew that whichever ride he picked we had to go on and was loving every second of our disbelieving faces. I looked towards it and saw little kids of about six giggling with glee as they sat in the little elephant and pressed the button to go up and down. I shook my head as some of the others groaned.
"You couldn't have picked a manlier ride, could you?!?!" Tom cried as we all began to walk over to the ride. In reply, Todd grabbed Tom and put him in a headlock before giving him a noogie.
"Don't dis, little brother," Todd said as he let him go, waggling a finger at him. I smiled - this is why I loved my family so much.
After messing around on the Elephant ride, we went on several other rides. This included forcing Jesse onto the Ferris wheel since he's petrified of heights and making Ryan play the 'knock down all of the cans with a ball' game numerous times in order to win Izzy a stuffed animal unicorn. She screamed when she saw it and ran to it screeching, "It's so fluffy I'm gonna die!!" - a quote from the movie Despicable Me.
After that, everybody shoved Ryan, the baseball player of the family, towards the stand and made him pay to play until he won it - which he eventually did.
I wandered over to the food area of the fair on my own as the others decided that another go on the Ferris wheel would do Jesse good. I turned around and looked at all of the food stalls, deciding which to pick. In the end, I settled on just getting a drink. I quickly got my Diet Coke and turned around to head back to my family. However, they were no longer in the same place they were before. I scowled. They've ditched me again, the little jerk-faces! I walked out of the food area and wandered along the lines of fair games. I took a sip of my drink as I stopped to look around once again.
There were many people playing the numerous games, of which they would never win. My gaze landed on a young couple, maybe my age, playing a game where you have to shoot down a spaceship with a fake gun. The girl was giggling as her boyfriend tried to show her how to aim the gun. The boy grinned as he took the shot and hit the spaceship. The girl threw her arms up in the air and turned to face him, delight spread across her face.
Then I turned away. Call me Scrooge but I just couldn't watch the scene anymore. Sometimes I wondered if I could ever be like that. Sometimes I wondered if Aiden and I would be like that if we were ever to go out. I shook my head - me and Aiden?!!
All of a sudden, all thoughts of Aiden and I were wiped from my mind as a pair of hands grabbed my waist and pulled me backwards. I was about to shout something when another massive hand clamped itself firmly over my mouth. I was dragged around the corner and pinned up against the back of one of the game stalls. I struggled against them but I couldn't escape the iron grip of two fully grown men.
"Oh look, if it isn't the little bitch from the other day," the harsh words hung in the air as I looked up only to see Moron One and Moron Two. Oh the joys...
