Millie~

"So, did you enjoy the party?" a male voice asked me from my right. I was sat nonchalantly at my desk, waiting for Mr. Ryans to walk in and for Maths to begin, as Jake slid down into the seat next to me.

"Yeah, I had a lot of fun thanks," I replied, throwing a smile at him. Inside, I was screaming as memories of that night came back. I wasn't sure being locked in a bedroom, playing drunk truth or dare with Nick Wright was my idea of fun. Fortunately, it seemed everybody was too absorbed in the party to notice our coincidental absence - or so I well and truly hoped so.

"I'm checking because sadly I didn't really see you very much," he commented. I couldn't help but freeze, if for only a second before I recovered myself. I managed to conjure up a, hopefully, confident sounding chuckle before replying.

"Funny," I began, "I didn't see you much either," I finished. Nice save, Mill, I inwardly congratulated myself. I added a smile onto the end of the sentence and before Jake could react further, Satan himself, Mr. Ryans, walked in.

"Ah, I do love the sound of seniors avidly awaiting their results of last weeks test," Mr. Ryans spoke across the chatter and quickly the room quietened. I leaned back in my chair, willing the ground to swallow me up there and then. Why did Mr Ryans make me feel so uneasy? He waltzed around the room handing out the graded test papers, an evil smile perched on his face.

"Hm, Millie," I heard him begin as the man's shadow cast itself across my desk. I inwardly winced at his expression and looked up at him slowly.

"Well done," he finished, pressing his lips together into a thin line as he handed me the paper. My eyes almost popped out of my head as I saw the bright red 'B' at the top of the page. It was safe to say I didn't see that coming. Leaning back slowly in my chair, I glanced around to see if anybody had witnessed my shock. Fortunately, everybody was absorbed in their own test results to have noticed, since they all were studying their papers, including Jake.

Checking that the letter on the top of my test paper was actually a 'B' once more, a small smile settled onto my face - I had actually passed a Maths test and it wasn't even as if I had scraped a pass. Mr. Ryans then proceeded to go through the test and soon enough, the lesson was over.

I made my way out of the classroom and proceeded to the toilets. I was about to walk out of my cubicle when I heard Isla Wright's high pitched voice enter the toilets.

"Yes, Lou, all of the boys are meeting us at the diner in half an hour," she began before silence followed, since, obviously, Lou was replying to her.

"I already spoke to Noah, Sam, Reece and Scott. Everybody is coming, Lou," she spoke again, reeling off the names of her cousins and brother. I stayed silent in my cubicle, not wanting to go out and face the awkwardness that would descend over us.

"Okay, well Nick isn't going but-" she was cut off, "I've got no idea why not-" and cut off again, "Listen, Lou, are you coming or no?" Isla questioned her cousin. I heard a tap turn on and then the sound of paper towels being pulled from the dispenser.

"Okay, great, see you there," Isla finished her conversation. I remained silent until I heard the door shut behind her. I quickly washed my hands before exiting the washrooms. Walking out into the parking lot, I saw Brent, Tom and James waiting by the two cars we had driven to school today - my Aston Martin and Brent's red Alfa Romeo. Pulling my car key out of my bag, I approached them.

"I have to go and do something, I'll meet you all at home," I told them quickly, opening up the driver side door. They all nodded at me and said goodbye as I slid in. In my rear view mirror, I watched as the Wright's drove out of the car park and soon enough, Brent, Tom and James also drove out.

I started my engine and left the school parking lot. Glancing over at my bag on the passenger seat, I smiled at the Maths test paper that stuck out of the top, the great, red 'B' staring right at me. I shifted in my seat as I entered West Side. I couldn't believe I was doing this and quickly considered turning back around and going straight home. Then I thought of wiping Nick's stupid smirk off his stupid face when I presented my test result to him. Sure, a B isn't the most amazing mark, but I had never achieved a grade as high as that in Maths.

I turned a corner onto a less busy road and parked my car - I most definitely would not risk getting caught. Getting out, I locked my car and began walking down the back roads until I reached the Wright's mansion. Isla Wright better not have been pranking me, I thought as I sneaked into the grounds the same way we had done in the summer.

I remembered exactly where Nick's room was - how could I forget?! I chuckled to myself as I recalled drawing all over the posters in his room. Wary that the adults and any house staff could be in the house, I carefully sneaked to where his window was, grabbing a handful of gravel from a path on the way. Looking around to see if I had been spotted, I threw a few of the pebbles at the shut window and winced when nobody came in response.

Millie, this was a really bad idea, I thought. Why was I only just thinking that now?

I hurled a few more grains at the window and looked around once more, this was such a bad idea, I repeated to myself as I became more anxious. I glanced up at the window after my minor panic attack and saw it was being opened. I tensed when Nick shoved his head out of the opening and shot me a confused look.

"What are you doing here?" he questioned, raising an eyebrow. Right Millie, now is not the time to give in to self-doubt - remember why your crazy ass decided it would be a fab idea to come here.

Pulling the test paper out of my pocket, I waved it in the air in front of me. Seeing the paper, Nick's eyes narrowed and he disappeared from the window. Shit.

The sense of panic picked up again - he was going to expose me. There was no way out, I couldn't run now, he'd already seen me. Why did I never think this would not go tits up?! Why?! I jumped when I heard a door open and close and wheeled around to see who it was.

"What's that?" Nick folded his arms over his chest as he came to stand a few meters away from me. I raised an eyebrow at him and held the paper out for him to see. He walked forwards and took the page from me, eyeing it suspiciously. His features softened as he realised what it was.

"And this is legit?" he questioned after a while. Anger rushed through me and my eyes narrowed at him. I rushed forwards and pointed to the top of the paper.

"Of course it's legit! Can you not-" I half shouted at him, before he interrupted me with a chuckle. I froze, hilarious Mr Wright, and scowled at him.

"Very funny, Nick," I deadpanned, shooting him a bored look and folding my arms across my chest. He smirked at me before glancing back down at the paper in his hands.

"Fair play, Ward," he nodded finally after scanning through my test. He looked around at where we were standing, "My parents are actually home right now," he began, handing me back my test. Panic rushed through my veins, oh shit

"Don't worry, they don't know you're here," he replied, noticing my very obvious panic. He looked around once more as we just stood there and scratched the back of his neck with his hand.

"Do you want to go somewhere?" he asked finally. I raised an eyebrow at him and he shrugged his shoulders at me.

"Sure," I responded sceptically after a while, dragging out the vowel sound. He smirked in reply and told me to wait where I was before he disappeared back inside the house. Again, the panic returned - I was standing exposed by the side of the Wright's mansion, out in the open, alone. Leaning against the wall, I stared at the ground in front of me - what the hell are you about to do, Millie, I asked myself, shaking my head.  I heard a door open and close and once again, jumped slightly in fear. Soon enough, I heard an all too familiar chuckle. I looked up at Nick, scowling.

"Somebody's a little jumpy," Nick smirked as he walked towards me, carrying two motorcycle helmets and a pair of white converse. Once again, I raised an eyebrow at him.

"What are those for?" I asked suspiciously, nodding towards the things he was carrying. Smirking at me once more, Nick walked past me and ignored my question. I folded my arms over my chest as he carried on walking.

"I thought you were coming with me, Millie?" he asked as he was about to walk around the corner. My eyed widened, usually he would just call me 'Ward' - he never used my first name. "You can just wait here and be seen if you want," he called again, snapping me out of my shock. Quickly, I began walking and caught up with him.

I followed him around the back of the house before he walked up to a black Ducati motorbike, which was parked next to the wall of the house. I raised an eyebrow at him and folded my arms over my chest. He held out one of the helmets to me.

"Really?" I questioned, still staring at the motorbike.

"What? You don't want helmet hair?" he questioned patronisingly, still holding the helmet out to me. I snapped out of my stare and looked up at him.

"You've never ridden a motorbike before, have you?" he asked again, the corners of his mouth tugging up into a smile as his arm that was holding the helmet fell down to his side. I folded my arms across my chest in response as he taunted, "Is little Millie scared of the bike?" he taunted, a smirk now forming on his face. My eyes narrowed and I strode towards him. I tried to grab the helmet from his hand, but he moved it out of my reach.

"Don't you remember what happened the last time somebody called me 'little', pal?" I threatened, hinting towards the time Noah had called me that. Nick raised an eyebrow at me, a smile playing on his mouth. He held the helmet out in front of me again. I went to take it from me, but he moved it slightly.

"Ah, ah, ah," he scolded and my eyes narrowed in confusion, my arms folding once again. He raised the helmet up and placed it on my head, pushing it down slowly. My eyes widened, what the hell was happening, I thought to myself.

Suddenly, there was a whoosh! and my head went slightly dizzy as he shoved the helmet down the rest of the way.

"Ow!" I exclaimed, before looking through the visor at Nick, who was cracking up. I shoved him in the stomach, "You're a jerk, Wright," I exclaimed, walking away from him and over to the bike as he sobered up.

"Wait, you need to put these on too," he told me, holding out the white pair of converse. I looked at the shoes and then up at him in confusion.

"People know it's me driving this motorcycle," he began to explain, "And people know you wear those boots," he continued, nodding down towards my high heels, "So you have to wear these so people don't know we're together," he finished. I raised an eyebrow sceptically at his theory, before taking the shoes and slipping off my heels.

"Wow, you're short," Nick told me bluntly as he took my heels and put them in the container on the back of his motorbike. I scowled at him as I slipped on the converse. Nick climbed onto the bike and started the engine. I straightened up from putting on the shoes and stared at the place I would be sitting at - right behind Nick. You're in the shit now, Millie.

"Are you coming or not?" Nick called over the roar of the engine. I walked over to the bike and cautiously got on. I loosely held onto the side of Nick's jacket and I heard him chuckle. Then he stepped on it and I almost fell off the back of the damned bike. Wrapping my arms around Nick's waist, I held on for dear life and felt laughter rumbling in his chest. I scowled inside my helmet, Nick Wright you damned jerk.
