Chapter 4
Warmth encased you when you awoke. You could smell something delicious, but you didn't want to get up to see what it was, so you snuggled deeper into your blankets. Wait...blankets? When you had fallen asleep you had been on your couch, with no blankets. You had no recollection of grabbing blankets. You peeked your eyes open. Not only did you have blankets on your, but you had been moved to your bed as well. You rubbed your eyes and moved to sit up, but something wrapped around your waist stopped you. You lifted the blankets and saw an arm draped over your waist. You turned, your gaze following the arm to its source. Your eyes landed on the sleeping masked face of Kakashi. You blushed and tried to pull away from him, but even in sleep he was quite strong. You didn't want to wake him up by pushing any harder, so you settled beside him and tried to figure out what was going on.
Hadn't he said that he was testing a new group of genin today? He must've finished. You looked at the sunlight streaming through the window. It looked like it was mid-afternoon at latest. You sighed, if he was finished already, then that most likely meant the students hadn't passed. That thought irritated you and you decided to wake Kakashi up. You flicked his nose, "Oi! Wake up Hatake." Kakashi's face scrunched, but he just borrowed his face closer to your shoulder, tightening his arm around you. You wiggled, trying to get out of his grasp while continuing to tell him to wake up and let you go. All you succeeded in doing by struggling was to wind up under Kakashi with his body curled around yours, nearly crushing you. You struggled to pull in a proper breath, trying to think of how to wake him up. As long as you had known him, he'd always been a heavy sleeper around you. Guess that meant he trusted you, but it made it frustrating whenever he decided to do this. And sadly, when he was asleep like this, you would always have to simply wait until he woke up on his own.
You puffed out a sigh. Last time you'd been able to wake him by tickling him, but your hands were pinned under his arms, so that killed off that option. Plus you knew he'd tickle you back once he woke up and you hated being tickled. You might not have minded staying in his arms, since he WAS nice and warm, but you needed to pee...You were thinking hard, when suddenly the evening before came to mind. He had been so happy and so...responsive when you had said his first name. You glanced back at his face. It was worth a try.
You wriggled until your body was facing him. You leaned your lips a little closer to his ear. "Ka-...Kakashi" Your voice was barely a whisper, but his body twitched in response. You glanced at his face. He was still sound asleep. You were going to have to step it up if you wanted him to wake up. You sucked in a breath, "Kakashi. Please wake up." The volume was a little louder, but not by much. Still, his body twitched then his arms tightened around you and a slight groan left his lips. It was working! You leaned a little closer to his ear, "Kakashi! Wake up!" You were finally able to say with full volume. His arms loosened and his hands slid to rest just above your hips, making you blush more than simply saying his name had done. He let out a pleased sound and he shifted, his clothed lips pressing to your ear now, "Not so hard, now is it?" You tensed and tried to open distance, "What?!" Kakashi chuckled and nuzzled his face into your neck, "Saying my first name. It's not so hard to say now that you've said it once." He pulled back to look you in the face, "I like it when you use my first name. Please call me by it from now on."
You were feeling very flustered by then, plus your bladder was screaming for your attention by now, so you simply agreed, "I'll try. Now can you please let me up?" Kakashi seemed to sense your near panic and he unwrapped his arms from your body. You leapt from your bed and sprinted to the toilet.
After you relieved yourself you walked back out. Kakashi had relocated to the kitchen, where he was stirring something. It looked almost like chili? Kakashi never made chili...you weren't even sure if he liked it. "So you just break into my home, start some chili and climb into bed with me? What goes on in your head Hat-" he cleared his throat, "...Ka...Kakashi?" you finished your sentence, correcting yourself. He turned and smiled at you, "Well, it's hardly breaking in when you leave your door unlocked. I started chili because the ingredients were on sale on my way back and I was hungry. And I didn't climb into bed with you. I carried you to bed and I simply fell asleep before I could stand up again." You narrowed your eyes. Typical! He totally didn't think anything he did was weird. You knew that you could try to tell him that just cause the door was unlocked, it wasn't an open invitation for him to come in; and just cause you were asleep and couldn't object, didn't mean he could move you around and join you in your bed whenever he felt like it, but he wouldn't listen. You had told him those things over and over and he never seemed to actually listen, so you focused on the thing he said that you could actually discuss. "Why were you hungry? I thought you were having lunch out at the training fields." He scratched his cheek, "Well... the genins kinda ate the food I'd brought along."
You perched yourself on the counter near the stove and idly watched Kakashi stirring the pot, "Did they clue in to what you were actually testing them on?" He shook his head and you sighed. It was a good thing to test for, but no one ever seemed to get it. Honestly, what did they teach the kids in school these days? You pulled your knees up and hid your face in them so that Kakashi wouldn't see how disappointed you were. It was silent for a few moments before Kakashi's voice made you lift your head, "At least...they didn't get it on their own. However, once I gave them a clue and a second chance...they got it." Your eyes widened, "Really?!" He nodded, "Yeah, I ever tried to trick them with their second chance, but they managed to get the right idea and used their heads." You leaned forward, not sure if you dare believe what he was hinting at. He saw your eager face and chuckled, "I'm hungry cause they ate the food I'd brought, and I didn't stop to eat anywhere cause I rushed back here to tell you the good news...I'm going to be training a group of genin." You squeaked happily and launched yourself off the counter, wrapping your arms around Kakashi's neck. "Oh my gosh! I'm so happy Ha- Kakashi! I'm gunna call you sensei from now on!" Kakashi chuckled and wrapped his arms around you tightly, "Please don't go calling me that. I've only just managed to get you to say my name." He slowly spun the two of you in circles.
You simply enjoyed the moment until you realized how intimately he was holding you. One of his hands was resting on your lower back, pressing your entire body against his, and his other hand was buried in your hair. His hold on you wasn't what made it strangely intimate, it was the fact that your hair was pushed forward and he had his nose pressed into your hair and he was breathing deeply through his nose. You tensed slightly. Thinking back you realized that this kind of position wasn't new. Since when had you become so comfortable with being so touchy with him? He stopped spinning the two of you around and his grip tightened slightly. Was it just your imagination or was he shaking?
You pulled your arms from around his neck and were about to start leaning back to open some distance up, "Ah... Kakashi?" His voice cut you off, "Uta. I love you."
