Building up to the Wattpad Block Party as well as the Wattys Award, our partners, AdventureCommunity has decided to host a contest, yep, CONTEST!!!! which to Wattpad users = Exposure= More reads.

For those new to the game, the Wattys are Wattpad's annual awards in virtual storytelling. To enter, you must have published at least three chapters since January 1st, 2016, and you must tag your story #wattys2016 .

Those are the two main criteria.

What else can you do to give your story a chance? Promotion, tightening, and tweaking. We cannot promise a win, but we can help you on your way.

Are you an adventure writer participating in the Wattys? Then this is for you:

In the comments section of Adventure Community Contest (Visit AdventureCommunity), tell us why YOUR story should win: Does it have stunning visuals to compliment its writing? Are their tightly woven action scenes? Do you make your readers cry? Laugh? Is it an undiscovered gem you believe in?

Add the link to the first chapter of your story: Whether it is a story you began months ago or one you started just for the Wattys. They will judge that first chapter, provide general feedback and tips for improvement.

All entries will be on the Adventure Community Wattys reading list. (To be created once entries roll in)

The contest aims to celebrate and honor stories- and all of them will be retellings. Retellings of classic novels/plays, myths, legends, folk tales, and fairytales are all welcome to enter.

The next contest is being hosted by one of Wattpad's finest profiles (we love them because their dedicated and really active --a lot of profiles here aren't -_-)

We present ParanormalCommunity's #CampfireGhost Stories.

Hey Collective!

So, we figured with the massive influx of recruits, it was time the WPRS had a field exercise at an old summer camp to get you all some basic training.

There's cabins, and a lake, and trust exercises, and obstacle courses, and three-legged races, and all sorts of fun! Agent #3 from Inhumane Resources will be acting Camp Director of course.

If you're wondering why we were able to get it so cheaply, well, my darling Collective, we're the sort to actively seek out haunted grounds. Where else would we train you how to hunt them or communicate with them?

However, there is one caveat:

At the end of the day, we all gather around the campfires of our respective groups (Seekers, Hunters, Researchers, etc.) and share cold root beer and warm, melted s'mores while we share stories or songs with our new friends.

And, given that I'm stuck here at the WPRS and wasn't allowed to go to camp because there are speculations that I "don't really exist" (psh), I'd like to hear them!

Rules:

I'd prefer you start with the campfire scene and the opening of the storyteller introducing the scene, but am I really going to get mad at you if you go straight for the good stuff? Nope.

1) Write me a 100-1000 word ghost story that you might tell around a campfire that has some variation of the phrase 'at a camp just like this one'. Yes, it can involve something other than ghosts. No, I don't really care what, as long as it is paranormal or spooky in someway, and involves a camp 'just like this one'. (Poems are accepted of any length.)

2. Add #CampfireGhosts to title AND tags

3. It can be a new book or added to an existing one (preferably of short stories)

4. Tag ten people to do it and paste the tagged usernames to the comment section, like how you'd ask someone else to share a story at the campfire. If you can include that into the story, all the better!

5. Have fun and enjoy the summer nights! ((As for our southern hemisphere members, that'll make your stories all the more fun to read!))

In case you missed it, the awesome fellows over at thefictionawards is showing authors some love by hosting their "first ever, annual, non-all-fanfiction awards! These awards cover all stories across wattpad from fanfiction to horror!"

Nominating are currently opened. You may only nominate a book once per category. Once nominations are over, all have been counted up and qualifying books confirmed, voting shall begin. Voting will be unlimited - there's a special system, which will keep the winner less predictable.

Writing about time travel is something that only you can create.

Time travel can be unique in many ways: a tragedy about a couple torn apart when the man can't control his powers, a comedy about some dudes with a bathtub and discovering they can go back in time or an awesome adventure to the future and back.

Whatever it may be, time travel is unique to you. So in this contest, I want to the your imagination run wild.

Whatever subject or genre, the book as to be about one thing: time travel. It can be anything: comedy, romance, horror, teen fiction or etc.

Make it as creative as you can and truly show the wonders or consequences of using time to your advantage, or even disadvantage.
