Chapter 9

Hastinapur, Dwapar Yuga

"Clank!"

Vasudev Krishna was looking at the fighting arena in front of him. There, his brother Balrama and Jayant Roy were engaged in a mace duel. Both of them were so much engrossed in fighting, that none of them sensed the presence of him there.

Balrama and Duryodhana...no, he corrected himself...Balrama and Jayant were looking at each other with a raw ferociousness. Balrama was looking like a golden lion, full of majestic glory. His fair skin, similar to the molten gold, was glowing in the soft light of Surya Narayana. On the other hand, Jayant was glowing too, but his glow was similar to a black panther, quick and flexible.

Balrama landed a heavy blow to Jayant, but he swiftly ducked and evaded. Then Jayant landed another blow. The two maces clanked again. Sparks were flowing when the two maces touched each other.

"Very good Duryodhana! Well done!" Balrama praised his opponent. Even Vasudev Krishna admitted that Jayant Roy was way better than the original Duryodhana, also way more dangerous than him. The boon of Mahadev made his body nearly indestructible. Even, Sri Krishna knew that his Sudarshan Chakra would not pierce Jayant's body, not because of the boon, but because of the ancient rule of the Tridev, that one couldn't directly nullify the boon given by one another. He looked at the Surya Narayana for once then smiled.

He knew Jayant's weak point of the body, but Jayant also knew his weak point too. But he understood Jayant's mindset. Jayant would never go directly against the Pandavas, because he knew that would be futile. He even thought that in such a case, Vasudev Krishna would directly go against the ancient rule, and he exactly wanted this!

The reason for this was simple. It would fulfil his ego, the ego of being a 'normal, common human'. He mocked the Pandavas saying 'half-devta' because of this ego. Jayant Roy was an anomaly, because like other powerful beings, like Ravana, Kansa, Hiranyaksh, Hiranyakashyap, he was not becoming drunk with power. He was a clever politician and tactician. Even to fulfil his greatest ego, he would not do anything rash, anything foolish.

But did he have all the capabilities for a good ruler? Yes, indeed yes. Jayant had all the capability of a good ruler. But the only problem was...no, not fate, but time. Jayant Roy came in such a time, when Sri Krishna came to the earth again to clean the evil of arrogant Kshatriyas. Jayant was standing in the path of the mission like a wall made of diamond. Bhargava Parashurama made this world devoid of Kshatriyas twenty one times, but still the kings did not learn their lessons. The influence of Kali was always stronger on the warriors, and with this influence, they always engaged in warfare and quarrels among themselves. Kansa, Jarasandha, Shishupal, Dantavakra, Drupad, Bhagadutta, none of them were devoid from this path. The lives of common people were always full of problem due to the rigid society and constant warfare between kings. One couldn't build a new society on the base of the previous one. It would need a new base, build by new thinking.

Mankind in Kali Yuga would become a very complex creature indeed. They would step aside from spirituality and embrace the materialistic ways fully. There would be no celestial weapons, but they would make powerful, mass-destructive weapons with the knowledge of science. The six enemies would guide them with way more force than any other Yugas.

People will fight war for religion, not for Dharma!

Then he would come again, this time to give the teachings of peace. He would teach the mankind to control the madness in his blood, which compelled them to draw each other's blood.

He again looked at the teacher and student fighting in front of him. But, then he realised that he was not alone. Four tall figures joined him in front of the arena, Gangaputra Bhishma, Dronacharya, Kripacharya and Vidura.

Dronacharya was looking at the two fighters with a proud look in his face. Gangaputra had a small smile in his lips, same as Kripacharya. But it was Vidura who had the most interesting combination of facial expression. It was a perfect mixture of joy and tension. The righteous Vidura was now finding himself in a two way path...and he didn't know what was correct for him.

"Clank!"

The two maces clanked again, this time with way more vigour. Sri Krishna looked at Jayant, who fall down on the ground due to the impact of the heavy blow of Balrama. But then something happened, something that shocked all of them, including him too.

Jayant lunged a perfectly aimed two-legged kick to Balrama's hand, while balancing his body on his right hand only. Balrama was shocked to find that his mace also found its place on the ground. Jayant again jumped up on the ground, unarmed. His both hands clenched into fists. Balrama smiled at him, his fists also clenched.

Balrama threw a punch, so fast, that Jayant didn't get a chance to duck. The punch landed into his mouth. All the spectators saw the blood dripping out from his mouth. Jayant stumbled for a moment then spitted some blood with a broken tooth.

"He wasn't using his gift." Vasudev Krishna said in a hushed voice. Bhishma nodded, understanding.

"Are you ok?" Balrama asked him.

"Never better Dau, never better. Har Har Mahadev!" Jayant charged at him, his punch landed on Balrama who easily caught the hand and then with a swift movement of him, Jayant landed on the ground again. Balrama took off his armour, his sweaty body started glowing. Jayant also took of his armour. The spectators were shocked to see his battered, bruised body.

"Rajkumar, give me your full might! This is an order! Do not see your teacher in front of you; see your enemy who is thirsty for your blood! Fight!"

Balrama charged at Jayant, who was standing in front of him. Then he landed another punch, but this time Jayant was ready. He swiftly ducked his head and evaded the blow. Then he landed another punch straight to Balrama's ribs. Balrama stumbled for a moment.

"Well done, but still, not good enough!"

In a swift motion, Balrama grabbed Jayant by his throat. The grip was so powerful, that Jayant struggled to break free, but started failing. His face was becoming blue, but Jayant was adamant not to give up.

"Accept your defeat!" Balrama hissed at Jayant.

"Never, fight until death!" Jayant spoke somehow. Balrama's grip tightened around his throat.

"Dau! Be careful!" Krishna shouted at him. Balrama was behaving like he was in a trancelike situation. But the voice of Krishna worked on him like magic. He quickly released Jayant, who started panting for air.

"You fool! Why didn't you accept defeat? I could've killed you! ", Balrama shouted at Jayant. Jayant looked at him then his head turned towards Vasudev Krishna. His eyes were so much venomous, that even the supreme one was bound to think for once.

"No Dau, I can't surrender. I will win or die, but no surrender."

Balrama looked at him. He tried to say something, but stopped. Then his eyes fell on the spectators, who were watching silently.

"That's enough for today, Duryodhana. If you are ok, then I will see you tomorrow in this ground."

"Count me in, Gurudev, count me in. "Jayant touched his feet. Then he looked at Vasudev Krishna again.

"Namaskar, Sri Krishna.", He crossed his hands and walked away. Vasudev looked at the disappearing figure.

"Why do you use the respective prefix when you have no respect for me? You are truly one of a kind Jayant, truly you are." Vasudev looked at the path Jayant was walking. But Jayant couldn't see something standing in the path. No one could see it except of the supreme one.

It was the astral body of a ten year old little girl. The girl was looking at his brother with tears in her eyes. The time froze besides them, keeping only the two of them aware of it.

"Gopal, please forgive my Dadabhai. Please."

Vasudev smiled at the little girl. But then, suddenly, his smile vanished.

"If you think I am your killer, then I will happily accept..."

The little girl crossed her hands.

"No, no, Bhagwan. You are the one who gives life to the universe. It was, may be my fate that I died that day. But Dadabhai is not right blaming you for my death. But please, do not get angry on him. He is not evil, just a little bit hot headed."

"A little bit?" Vasudev Krishna smiled at her.

"I am sorry, not a little bit, but a lot." Little Seema showed him with her two hands, "a lot, very big, bigger, biggest hot-headed. I always told him that. I didn't know how he managed to control his temper in the army. There, he even earned fame for being calm and cool." Seema was smiling, but her eyes still had tears.

"Wipe out your tears Seema. Do not worry for your Dadabhai. Let his fate do his work. After all we are bound by fate."

Seema happily nodded her head then her astral body vanished. Vasudev Krishna heaved a sigh. He again looked at the three parallel scars.

"You won't be able to see the truth, Jayant, until and unless you churned out all these hatred from your soul. But I know who can make the barren, thorny heart of yours into a garden full of flowers. Only love can triumph over hate. Now, this is time for you to experience it."

"Really, Gopal? My Dadabhai is getting married! Woooh, I am so happy!" Vasudev heard a little girl's voice behind him.

"You're still here!" Vasudev Krishna turned towards her. The little girl was jumping happily. She looked at him, and jumped at his inviting arms.

"Gopal, you're the best! You are my Laddoo Gopal! Please tell me who the lucky one to be my Boudi is?"

"Not so fast, kiddo. Let the time do his thing again."

Seema puffed her cheeks, but Vasudev smirked at her too.

"Nope, no amount of cuteness will do the work now. Also, no flattery. You will find yourself when the right time comes."

"Okay."
