chapter three

"Come on!" Draco yelled to me and our parents with impatience in his voice, "We don't have all day."

King's Cross was busy, it was filled with Muggles that were getting ready to hop on a train and go somewhere. My stomach was filled with nervous butterflies, I was thinking of all the things that could go wrong. Maybe I won't make any friends, the classes will be hard, or what will happen if I get sorted into a different house than Slytherin.

"Come on!" Draco yelled again as we got closer to him.

Draco was standing in front of a wall, the wall that separated platforms 9 and 10. That's when I start to forget my nervousness, why should I think of the bad today. I was going to Hogwarts, I was going to be leaving Malfoy Manor behind for almost a whole year. I was going to be able to learn something that isn't just from a book. But most importantly, I will be somewhat free.

Me and my parents came to stop right next to Draco who still had an annoyed look on his face. Draco hadn't stopped talking about Hogwarts all morning, he was probably excited to get out of the house as well.

"Patients Draco," Father tells his son in a sly voice, "You need to have patients."

"Sorry Father," Draco mumbles, his eyes falling to the floor.

My father's face was still grim as he said, "Which one of you would like to go first?"

Draco's eyes were still on the floor, probably the nerves were kicking in.

"I'll go first, Father," I say with no nervousness in my voice.

Father turned to look at me, he had probably forgotten that I was here, "Oh, Lilith darling, go right ahead."

I nodded as I took a deep breath. I knew that on the other side of the wall in front of me was Platform 9 and ¾, the place where you can find the Hogwarts Express. I had read all about it when I was bored in my bedroom one day.

That's when I started running at the wall, putting all my emotion into my feet. I could hear the wheels of my troll scratching the floor. The wall got closer and closer then it was right in front of my face.

When I thought about this moment, I thought I would close my eyes right before I went onto the platform. But my eyes didn't close, I didn't think for a second that I would crash into a wall. A shiver went down my back as I went through the wall and in one second I was on the platform.

The platform was filled with people just like King's Cross. The only difference was that children and teenages were carrying things that you wouldn't see in a muggle train station. People were holding cages with owls inside and others with brooms ready for a quidditch match.

My eyes soon fell onto the Hogwarts Express which was just as amazing as they said it was in the books that I've read. To anyone else, it was just a boring old train, but for me, this was the start of something new.

Suddenly, I turned to see Draco right beside me. But unlike me, his eyes didn't light up with excitement.

A couple seconds after Draco, both my parents came walking through the wall onto the platform.

Mother let out a sigh, "It seems like just yesterday when we were getting on the Hogwarts Express, isn't it Lucius?"

Father didn't wear the same expression that my mother wore. He still had a grim expression on his face and I didn't understand why. I thought at first that it was because Draco wasn't attending Drumstrang but now I wasn't so sure.

"Yes, it does darling," Father tells his wife after a couple of seconds. He had a smile on his face for a couple seconds before it fell back to a straight face.

"I can't believe it," Mother says, looking around the messy place, "That's where your grandparents used to stand every summer when me and my sisters were coming home from Hogwarts. That's where I met my first friend, and... so many memories."

Father grabbed my mother's hand and said, "So many wonderful memories, my love."

I looked over at Draco to see that he had an annoyed look on his face as he watched our parents. I was thinking the same thing as he was, we were ready to get going.

Mother blinked a couple times then said, "Come on now, let's get you to the train."

That's when we started walking into the crowd of children, teens, and parents that were all saying their goodbyes and getting onto the train.

My eyes looked around the room at all the people. Most everyone was saying their goodbyes to their loved one because it will be about four months until the Christmas break. That's when I looked at my family, my brother and father both wore straight faces and my mother was still daydreaming about her time at Hogwarts. I didn't for a second that my mother was thinking about her two children leaving.

Once we got to the entrance of the Hogwarts Express, a nice young man offered to take our luggage for us. Me and Draco kindly nodded and the man brought our luggage into the train.

Then it was time for goodbyes.

Mother hugged Draco first and I could see some sadness creeping into her dark eyes. She kissed Draco on the top of his blonde hair then turned to me. She didn't give me a long, sentimental hug like she did with Draco, but she still gave me a squeeze and a kiss on the head.

Father didn't hug me or Draco but we didn't expect anything different. But instead, he cleared his throat and said, "Goodbye my children. I expect that you both will be sorted into Slytherin and will not disgrace the family name--" He looked at me when he said, "I want letters from both of you, telling me about your time and adventures."

That's when Father's cold eyes fell onto Draco, "Draco, I have something to ask of you."

"Yes, Father?" Draco squeaked.

"I would like you to watch over your twin sister," Father said as he gave me the side eye, "I want you to make sure that she doesn't get into any--"

"I can take care of myself just fine," I interrupted, crossing my arms over my chest.

Father sighs, "Lilith, darling, I just want to make sure that you stay out of trouble at Hogwarts now that me and your mother are not around to watch you."

A shiver went up my spine, "I won't be any trouble, I promise Father."

That when Father grinned, "I believe you but I still want to be totally sure."

I rolled my eyes when he wasn't looking at me. I knew deep down that my father wasn't just going to let me go away to school without knowing every move I made. I looked over at my twin to see that he finally had a smirk on his face, he loved when he had power over me, just like Father.

"Now Draco, you better be getting alone now," Father says, still smiling, "Lilith will join you in a minute, I need to talk to her alone for a moment."

Draco nodded as he gave my mother one last hug and mumbled some words to her that I couldn't catch.

That's when Father grabbed my arm and pulled me away from Mother and Draco. My heart started beating faster in my chest.

My father's grin was gone and he now wore a snarl.

"You listen to me, Lilith," Father whispered in my ear, "If I hear one thing from Draco about you saying or doing anything. You better hope that you're staying at Hogwarts for Christmas."

"Fath--"

"Don't say anything. But do you hear me, one thing gone wrong and I wouldn't be nice about it," Father threatened.

"I he-hear you," I whispered, not being able to look at him.

"What?"

"I hear you," I whisper without weakness.

"Thank you," Father says calmly but he still had a snarl on his smug face, "And please stay close to your brother, that's the crowd that you need to hang out with."

I nodded my head slowly knowing that he would probably slap me right here in front of everyone.

My heart started to slow as we walked back over to Draco and Mother who were still talking lightly to each other.

"Draco what did I tell you," Father says when he saw that he wasn't on the train yet, "I told you to get on the train."

"I thought it would be best if he waited for Lilith," Mother answered before Draco could say anything.

Father nodded his head towards his wife then said, "Have a good year children."

"Thank you Father."

That's when we got onto the train, not looking back at our parents or looking at each other. The train started to move a couple minutes after we got on. The train was almost full and there were no empty booths for me, but I knew that I was going to have to hang out with Draco and his friends.

Father sometimes had people over from his work but when his co-workers brought their children, they were normally boys and most of them were about Draco and I's age. But normally I don't want to hang out with the boys because I thought they were rather immature.

But on those lucky days when one of father's co-worker has a daughter, the daughter is either a lot older than me or the girl is a brat.

Suddenly Draco stopped and I almost ran into him.

"Tell me when you're gonna stop, jerk," I told him, annoyed as I rolled my eyes.

Draco rolled his eyes back at me, "I'm stopping."

I looked in the booth to see three boys inside, talking to each other.

As I looked at the three boys, I didn't understand why they wanted to hang out with bratty, scrawny Draco.

Two out of the three boys looked like a bodyguard. The taller one had broad shoulders, long gorilla arms, and rather small eyes. The small one was bigger in size with gorilla arms like the tall boy. He also had a flat-nose and bowl haircut. The two boys also both had brown hair.

The other boy looked about the size of Draco but he was rather attractive unlike my bratty twin brother. The other boy had thick eyebrows, light brown hair, and big eyes.

Draco opened the booth sliding door then walked inside. The boys stopped chit-chat once their eyes fell onto Draco, this was going to be super fun.

"Hey guys," Draco says as he sits in between the small and tall boys.

"Hey Malfoy," They all say.

I sat down next to the attractive boy, not knowing what to do.

"Guys, this is my twin sister Lilith," Draco says lazely, "This is Goyle, Crabbe, and Lockwood."

"What's up Lil," The taller one, Goyle, says to me.

I rolled my eyes, "Don't call me."

Crabbe and Goyle laughed and Crabbe said, "I guess we got a hothead on our hands."

They continued to laugh and Lookwood joined in.

"We better stop laughing before her head explodes."

I rolled my eyes, not letting these immature boys annoy me.

The laughing stopped after a couple minutes once Draco became annoyed and wanted to talk about something different.

I was disappointed that I didn't sit next to the window because I wished that I could watch what was going on outside.

I daydreamed for a while until I heard the sound of the door slide open. That's when I looked up to see two girls sit down in our booth. One sat next to Goyle and the other sat between me and Lockwood.

"Annie, can you leave?" Lockwood asked, giving the beautiful brown hair girl a hard look.

Annie rolled her eyes at the rude boy, "I have nowhere else to go right Pansy?"

The other girl nodded, giving Goyle the side eye.

"Leave Annie," Aiden said, annoyed.

Annie started laughing, "Aww are you trying to be all big and scary in front of your friends."

"Shut up, Annie!"

"Nope," Annie says, popping the p.

"Oh little Lockwood has a little girlfriend," Crabbe chuckled as he watched the two bicker.

Annie turned to look at Crabbe, "You better shut your mouth Vicent or do you want to see what happens when I tell my brother about a boy bullying me."

Crabbe immediately stopped laughing, but Goyle started laughing, pointing at the nervous expression on his face.

"Annie, can you leave now," Lockwood asked, looking a little flushed, "No one wants you around, okay?"

"I want her around," I peek in, giving the boys a look.

"I like her already," Pansy says with a smirk on her face.

Annie smiled at me, "Thank you..."

"Lilith."

"Lilith," Annie says, smiling, "So sorry Aiden but someone does want me here."

I smiled but I didn't understand why Draco and his friends called each other by their last names, it was somewhat annoying.

"Don't forget me," Pansy smirks.

"You don't count," Goyle says, rolling his eyes.

Aiden turned to give me a hard look but I just grinned at him.

"So I'm guessing everyone here wants to get into Slytherin, right?" Annie asked, trying to make small talk. To be honest, Annie seemed pretty cool. I liked that she didn't give a second thought about what these stupid boys were saying about her.

"Yup," Everyone says.

"I mean if you weren't I would have kicked you out already," Pansy says in a bit of a bratty voice.

A terrible thought came into my hand but I quickly shook it out of my head. We still had a long time until we got to Hogwarts.

~~~
We had been on the Hogwarts Express for probably a couple of hours but I was honestly having a good time with Draco, his cult, and the two girls that probably saved me from a whole day of annoyance and boredom.
Annie and Aiden were having another argument about which quidditch team was better, which I honestly didn't care about. I liked the sport but I would rather play then watch.
"Come on Annie," Aiden sighs, he has been super uptight ever since Annie came into the booth which has been hours now, "You know that I'm right."
"Let me think," Annie says, putting her finger to her temple, "When was the last time you were right about something?"
"Ooh," I mumble.
"Wow, this girl is destroying you Lockwood," Draco says with a grin on his face.
Aiden pushed Draco lightly but before he could say something the door opened.
Everyone's head turned at the same time. My eyes fell onto a girl with long light brown hair, big front teeth, and a kind face.
"Get lost, we already have enough people in here," Aiden says bitterly.
"I'm not here to sit," The girl says, "I was just asking if anyone has seen a toad, a boy named Neville ha--"
"Hermione!" Another girl yelled, coming up to the girl from behind. The girl has thick brown hair and a big smile on her face.
"What is it, Isabelle?" Hermione asked the other girl with some annoyance in her voice.
"Guess what?"
"What?"
"I saw Harry Potter," The girl named Isabelle says.
"Harry Potter?" Everyone asked at the same time. The boy who lived, on the same train as us. He is a legend.
"Yes," Isabelle says with excitement in her voice, "I saw him when I was walking down the hall trying to find you."
"Are you sure," Hermione asked.
The girl nodded then pointed in the direction she came.
"I'm guessing you haven't seen a toad," Hermione asked, turning to look at us.
"Nope."
The two girls started towards where the legend was. I looked to see Pansy rolling her eyes and Crabbe looked annoyed.
"I can't believe someone is that excited to see him," Pansy says, making a face.
"I mean, if he gets sorted into Slytherin," Draco mumbled.
"Look, Dracie is excited," I grinned even though I could feel my stomach knot up at the comment.
"Shut up," Draco snapped then took a deep breath, "I mean if we could get him to hang out with us."
"You can try," Pansy says, annoyed at the idea, "But I bet that he will hate you on sight."
"Rude."
"I bet the opposite," Crabbe interrupted, being stupid, "How about whoever loses--"
"Has to do what the other wants for a month," Pansy says before Crabbe could finish. Crabbe thinks about this but agrees, Pansy and Annie high-five each other knowing that he was probably going to lose.
I looked out the window to see that the sun was starting to set behind the hills and in a couple minutes we would be in front of the magical school, ready for our first year of training.
