"I wanna talk to you"

Karma found Asano sitting alone at the cafeteria. He was drinking a cup of tea, his bangs were still kind of wet under his hat. He tried to ignore Karma, but the red haired boy took a seat right in front of him. He sighed and gave up.

"What? We agreed not to bother you during the trip, now why are you bothering me?"

"I didn't agree in anything, so this doesn't apply for me. I want to talk about you... and about Y/N." Karma said.

"I don't wanna talk to you."

"Then drink your tea and hear me out. Once upon a time, Y/N told me about her ex boyfriend. How she met him, how she fell in love with him, how he... ditched her when he found out what kind of student she was. She never told me the name or other hints that would lead me to his identity... but seriously, Asano, no matter how much piece of shit you are, I was still surprised when I found out yesterday that it was you. And I was disgusted, to tell you the truth.."

"It's not your business, Akabane. Leave me alone. Why so concerned about my personal life?" Asano murmured and glared at Karma.

"Cause it's not your personal life anymore. What happened between you two affected her to the bone... and still affects her. It also affects me." Karma said and took a deep breath"You ignored her for a year and a half... and now you suddenly came back following her and asking her to come back to you. Why is that?"

"I regret what I did, okay? And I want her back... why, Akabane? Do you like her? Does it hurt?" Asano asked and slightly smirked. Karma's suffering was probably his favourite enjoyment in life.

Karma bit his bottom lip.

"I happen to know the real reason you are doing this. Back then, you had used your father's files to find out Y/N's grades. It would not be impossible for you to have already found out our results and ranks of the exam that will be revealed on Monday, right?"

Now it was Asano's turn to bit his lip. Karma continued.

"My theory is this: you have been monitoring Y/N's progress through your father's files the whole time after you broke up with her. You waited long enough, waited for her to become the best, to surpass me, your opponent in grades. And now, she did, and when you saw the results, you decided to use it to get her back. Now that she is the first student, now that she is better than me... you want her back, right? Because you, Asano, only want girls of your level, is that true?"

Asano gave up. He put his cup down and stared annoyingly at Karma. His voice was suddenly angrier and more intense.

"So what? If I make her love me again, she will be happy being with me, so you don't have to worry. What if I want her because she is better than you? She is on my level... our break up turned her into something amazing, and I want that amazing girl back. I will take care of her, believe it or not."

Karma laughed at the last sentence. Asano looked weirdly at him, not realising what was so funny.

"You? Take care of her!? Let me guess... like you did the last time?"

"It's not my fault she took it to heart that I broke up with..." Asano said but was cut by Karma.

"Took it to heart? Let me update your information, because you have no idea what happened back then. After you ditched her because of who she was, she cried her eyes out and was hit by a car. She bled. Her eyes and ears were hurt. She was wearing bandages around her head for a long time. She didn't want to let anyone at school know about it except her friends, so that you wouldn't find out, so that you wouldn't get worried, because she was still fucking love you. That is her story, Asano, a story you didn't know, and didn't care about. You will take care of her? I don't think so."

Asano's eyes were wide open from shock. His mouth was slightly open, but no words could come out. His hands were trembling.

That sight was enough for Karma. He stood up, looking at the purple eyed boy.

"That's why... I am not the one to decide who will be in her life and who not, but I am warning you... and if you have even a shred of heart in that body of yours, use it to understand the girl whose world you once were. Use it and look around you... it can help even a person like you."

He was about to walk away, leaving Asano behind, still dumbfounded of what he heard. However, he wanted to say one last thing.

"And also... that amazing girl was always amazing, but you couldn't see it. It was because of that amazingness that she managed to stay strong and become even more amazing that even you noticed. That's why, Asano, she is not at your level. Hers has always been way higher than yours."

In the night, you couldn't sleep at all. So many things had happened that wouldn't leave your head alone. And more importantly, your heart couldn't be at easy.

It was beating fast for him.

Silently, you took Kayano's phone without waking her up and hesitated, but in the end you texted yourself.

Karma... are you awake?

You waited for a while, but you got no response. You pouted, staring at the screen disappointed.

"He was the one who told me to text him if I can't sleep though..." you whispered and put the phone back to where you got it from.

You stood up, wore your coat, went to the boys' room and peeked inside. Everyone was sleeping, but Karma was not in there.

"Where is he?"you wondered and got extremely worried.

You left the cottage and wandered around the area. It was very cold but finding Karma was your priority.

Soon, you noticed the lights of the ice skating rink being turned on. You entered the building, having a feeling you had found who you wanted.

And indeed, Karma was the one skating in the middle of the night in the rink. His figure made your cheeks burn.

Showing off your charismatic nature, huh?

You approached the rink, holding the bars.

"Karma! What are you doing here? You should at least have woken up one more person to come with you..."

He turned and looked at you, surprised from your sudden appearance. You on the other hand couldn't help it but worry about his health.

"Then you stay here" he said, looking into your eyes. But then, he moved further, to the other side of the rink.

"Hey!"you shouted at him, and the echo was heard. "I can't see you from so far away!"

"Then come to me!'"

He shouted back, and you clearly heard his voice... cracking slightly, as if he was not confident that you would do that.

You instantly wore the ice skaters and entered the rink, skating towards Karma. He was taken aback by watching you skating normally without help, since you didn't seem to be able to do that while he was helping you in the evening.

You stopped in front of him, smiling sweetly. He slightly giggled.

"Why were you giving me such a hard time in the evening if you could do it the whole time?"he asked.

You shrugged.

"Who knows? Maybe I really enjoyed being close to you this time."

You couldn't even recognise yourself when telling things like that. But you realised it was the truth... that damn truth that would mess up with your heart beats.

Karma locked his eyes in yours, his smile disappeared and became totally serious. Slowly, he approached you and you were skating backwards, until you back was pressed on the bars. Karma put his hands right and left of you, his face centimeters away from yours. You wouldn't avoid his gaze, you wouldn't avoid his touch or his words.

Then, he just lowered his head and put his forehead on your shoulder. You were surprised but let him be. He took a deep breath.

"You are treating me like that... and still I can't help it but get worried about you and your actions. What should I do with you, Y/N?"he said in low voice.

You gasped. You couldn't talk normally, and that's when you realised you were very embarrassed and probably red.

"What... Do you mean?"you asked.

Karma looked at you again. His orange orbs were full of worries and concerns... it made you feel the need of being forever next to that person, making sure he was happy.

"About Monday... about whether or not you will go to see Asano... that's why I'm worried."

You didn't know how he found out about this, but it was not the point.

This time, you were the one to hold his hand.

"Don't you trust me?"was what you asked.

"I trust you, but not Asano. I don't know what he plans to do to take you back."

His voice sounded as if he wanted to protect something precious. He tightened his grip.

"There is no point in anything he does, cause we can never be like we used to. There is no need to even think about it."you said.

You saw his relieved but still doubtful expression and giggled. You slightly slapped his arm.

"What's with this face? Come on, if you worry that much you will look tired again. Since we have the rink just for us, lets take advantage of it. Are you in for a dance?"

He laughed at that and stuck out his tongue.

"Dance? Are you crazy? Figure skating is not my style, and we will also break all of our bones if we try."

"Then how about having a skating race? From the one side of the rink to the other?"

"Are you sure you want me alive? I can't do that in my state" he murmured and you pouted.

"Then what do you wanna do?"you asked and he smirked. He grabbed you hand and began skating in circles with you.

"Lets just do this" he said and you looked surprised at his face.

"Circles? I thought you would want something more exciting" you told him and he didn't lose his smirk.

"It's for three reasons: one, I wanna see if it is possible to make a big whole if we circle around the whole time. Two, I wanna see if the ice will melt because I am a hot mess."

He paused and you laughed at that.

"What's the third reason?"

"That... I won't tell" he bluntly said and kept skating.

He kept to himself the fact that he loved holding your hand in his.

"Do you think you will be able to go to sleep now?" Karma asked when you arrived back to the cottage.

It was even darker and extremely silent.

"Are you kidding? After so much skating I will fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow" you lied, knowing that being with Karma alone for so long of a time would give you an even harder time to sleep. Your heart was racing.

"Should I come and hug you the whole night to have sweet dreams?~"

"Shut up"you said and slapped his arm. He smirked.

"You really do love slapping people, huh?"

After he said that, you stared into each others eyes.

You both knew.

But before saying anything, the door of the cottage opened and Isogai came out with Yukiko, walking slowly and silently so that they wouldn't wake up anyone. However, they froze when they saw you and Karma standing there. The four of you exchanged awkward glances.

"Well well well..." Karma said to the couple teasingly"Where are you two going in the middle of the night?"

They turned red and Isogai barely answered.

"What... what are YOU two doing here?"

"We couldn't sleep so we went skating. What about you?"you asked, looking at Yukiko. Your friend was really embarrassed but pretty cute at the same time.

"Guys?" Maehara's voice was heard and you glanced behind Yukiko and Isogai. Ngisa, Kayano and Maehara had also woken up, probably because of your talking.

"Why are you all awake? What is this reunion for?" Kayano asked, yawning.

"Uh fine!" Isogai said and looked at all if you"I had promised Yukiko that we would see the stars together... why we wanted to share a room together, so that we would be able to leave in the night without waking up anyone..."he confessed.

The rest of you were just" AAAW" making them even more embarrassed.

"You should go then" Nagisa told them. But Karma had another idea.

"Don't be so polite, Nagisa. Why don't we all go to see the stars?"

"Great idea!" Kayano said.

"Agree. I can't sleep knowing that you have fun in the night" Maehara added and Nagisa hesitated, but shrugged in the end.

"Whatever... lets just go. In the end A- class will also wake up and I really don't want more people to come with us..." Isogai said and Karma laughed victorious.

He put his arms around Yukiko's and Isogai's shoulders, dragging them with him outside in order to find a good place to see the stars. You, Maehara, Kayano and Nagisa followed from behind, sighing at the red haired boy's endless teasing.

The stars were indeed pretty, but half an hour later, you were sleepy. You were sitting between Kayano and Karma, and your eyes slowly closed, with you slowly falling asleep.

Kayano was about to wake you up, but Karma stopped her and told her that there was no need for that. He just slowly put his palm behind your head and pulled it towards him, so that you would sleep on his shoulder.

Kayano smiled at the heartwarming sight of the two of you and Karma smiled back. It was the best sleep you had ever had.
