Chapter 12: Flashbacks..

Felix Kjellberg

We walked into Ken's house, I could see all of the emotions he was feeling, just on his face. Anger, irritation, annoyance, distraught, sadness, even fear. He shut the door behind us.

"What the hell happened to you guys?" Ken muttered, crossing his arms.

I opened my mouth to talk but he cut me off before I had a chance. "No, shut up Felix. Why did you do all of this?!"

Anger cascaded through my veins, I clenched my fists and swallowed the lump in my throat. "THE POLICE KILLED THE ONES WE LOVE!! WHAT DID YOU EXPECT US TO DO?!" I shrieked, unable to control my anger.

"MOURN AND GET THE FUCK OVER IT!" Ken shouted back, in the heat of the moment.

I looked over at Mark and Sean, I saw fury in their eyes, they were pissed, but not as pissed as I was.

"WHAT IF MARY HAD GOTTEN SHOT AND KILLED THEN WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE?!" I screamed in response, I couldn't control my anger anymore.

"EVERYONE CHILL THE FUCK OUT." Sean exclaimed, standing between Ken and I, attempting to keep us apart.

"Look, we don't have to argue.. There's nothing to shout about.." Mark stated, trying to help Sean control the situation.

"Nothing to shout about?!" Ken asked, extremely angry and confused. "I want to know why you thought it'd be a great fucking idea to go around killing innocent cops that had nothing to do with the shitty situation y'all got yourself into!" He retorted.

"HEY! It wasn't our fucking fault!" Mark soon became defensive and sided with me, crossing his arms.

"We weren't the ones responsible for our loved ones death?! How can you say that Ken?!" Sean responded, with a voice filled with immense amounts of hurt.

"Do you guys even remember the crime scene? Or anything weird that might have shown up or something?" Ken replied fiercely, but sincerity was prominent in his voice.

Suddenly, I felt my eyesight go a little fuzzy as my mind cast back to Brighton, and I zoned out...

~*~

I sat on the wall that overlooked the entire beach, there were no more cops here currently but white and blue tape had been surrounded around the area, blocking off where Marzia last was. I tried desperately for days on end to not think about how I found her that day, but sometimes I just couldn't do that.

The sun began to set on the horizon, creating streaks of yellow, orange and pink scattered across the sky, it was breathtaking, but my mind still wandered else where. My eyes skimmed my whereabouts, and that's when I spotted something round, large and black, lodged and buried on the pebbly shore.

In confusion, I lightly jumped off the wall, hearing my shoes scrap against the rocks. I slowly walked towards the mysterious item and picked it up.
It was a mask, a black one and it was made out of metal, which was quite unusual.

"The fuck is this?.." I mumbled to myself as I stared at the white engravings on the mask itself, mirroring a creepy, unusual face.

I shook my head and grasped the mask tightly, tossing it as far as I could into the ocean. I didn't want to think about the fucking murderer, my thoughts were always with Marzia.

~*~

"I remember seeing a black mask, made out of metal.." I blurted out randomly, "And.. I threw it into the ocean.."

"Why would--?!" Mark started in anger, but I cut him off.

"Mark, shut the fuck up, I was fucking unstable at the time." I stated harshly, he rolled his eyes and looked the other way for a moment, he muttered something under his breath, but I couldn't be bothered to pay attention to him anymore.

"What about you Sean?" Ken responded, we looked over at Sean, his eyes were glossy as he bit his nails and kept his eyes glued to the floor, not looking up. He had zoned out too.

Sean Mcloughlin

I couldn't stop my thoughts overtaking my mind, my hands shook a little and my eyes stung as I thought back to the crime scene I visited under a year ago. Ken's question had caught me off guard, and it triggered flashbacks.. Unpleasant ones.

~*~

I stared back at my family home, blinking several times to hide my tears, I still wasn't over the terrifying events that occurred under a few weeks ago. White paint had been sprayed over one of the house's exterior walls, mimicking a bold, round, white circle, it confused me and it was the only vital and obvious clue on the scene.

I slowly made my way to the local park, I was going to meet up with Signe, she was the only available person I could talk to, since most of my family members were still mourning Malcolm's death, and were scattered all over Athlone and the rest of Ireland. Signe didn't mind making her way over to my hometown, here, and her support would be so appreciated.

Sitting down on a nearby bench, I ran my hand through my green, messy hair and wiped my sore, puffy eyes with the back of my light grey jacket's sleeve. I took a deep breath and took in my surroundings, trying to take my mind off things, the wind caused the trees to sway softly, and the birds chirped happily as they flew from branch to branch. Moments later, I heard a soft, beautiful Dutch accent, my heart fluttered a little and I looked towards where the voice was coming from.
It was Signe, and I was so goddamn happy to see her.

"Sean?" Her soft voice spoke, as her lips curved into a caring and considering smile.

I stood up and quickly walked towards her, engulfing her gently into a hug. "Signe.. I'm so glad you're here.." I whispered, holding back my tears as my eyes stung.

"Me too.. How are you holding up?" She mumbled audibly, pulling away from our hug and looking up at me with her gorgeous green eyes.

"I'm managing.." I sniffed, wiping my eyes again and pulling a somewhat goofy grin.

"I'm always here for you Sean." Signe beamed, her eyes filled with love and passion.

"I am too." I chuckled lightly and caressed her cheek.

She leaned in and gave me a soft peck on the lips, "Whatever happens, please stay safe, for me.." Signe responded.

"I will, I swear I will." I promised almost immediately, "I love you Signe."

"I love you too Sean.."

~*~

"Sean? Sean??" Ken questioned, snapping me out of my thoughts.

I abruptly looked back up at him, feeling a single tear slide down my cheek, I pushed all of my thoughts of Signe to the back of my mind, since I didn't want to forget them, and I knew I had to respond to Ken.

"Spray paint." I muttered. "There was white spray paint on the exterior wall of my family's home, in the shape of a circle." I explained, scratching the back of my neck and closing my eyes for a singular moment.

"And what about you Mark?.." Ken inquired, he sounded almost smug.

I watched the remorse turn to confusion and shock in his eyes, he stopped crossing his arms and didn't make eye contact with any of us.

Mark Fischbach

"Um.." I uttered lightly, my thoughts warping into flashbacks. I felt my body go numb as I relived moments I never wanted to see again.

~*~

I sat down on a chair in the backyard, the house was eerily quiet without Matt and Ryan, and I felt the harsh loneliness creeping in again. The sun blazed down upon me as I looked around, a light breeze brushing past me. I noticed Chica trotting along, she sat beside me, looking up at me in concern.
I sighed a bit and scratched behind her ear and stroked her.
Her presence never failed to make me smile.

"Hey Chica.." I mumbled with a small, genuine smile on my face; but I knew she knew I wasn't okay.

She barked and tried to comfort me, but it was no use, I was alone again, and I had no one, no more human interaction, and not for a while.

At this point in time, all I could think of was what I saw at the scene. Fabric. Dark fabric. Could've been blue, green or even red, I wasn't able to tell, but I know for sure the material came from a hoodie. That was the only clue I had to finding out who this fucker was, and there was far more evidence for the police doing it, so I pushed away my thought of it being someone else..

~*~

"The only evidence I had was dark fabric, from a hoodie." I sighed, scratching the back of my neck.

"Anyone can wear a hoodie." Sean stated afterwards, crossing his arms.

"Exactly, barely any evidence there.." I uttered, shrugging defeatedly.

"I still don't think the police were behind it, they're not capable of it. And you're killing innocent people for no good fucking reason!" Ken responded, his outspoken thoughts making a little more sense.

"No reason?!" Felix raised his voice, becoming quite angry. "I'm pretty sure we have a good enough reason Ken!"

"Why did I even think to try and help you? You're all shoulder deep in fucking bullshit!" Ken shouted harshly, "Just believing anything so you think you know for sure who killed them."

"Shut your mouth!!" Felix replied furiously, clenching his fists and gritting his teeth.

"Get out of my fucking house.." Ken murmured, quite clearly. He pushed the three of us towards the front door and opened it, one by one he pushed us out. "And d--"

Ken was cut off...

Gunshot.

He had been shot in the head..

And his body fell to the floor..
