2-A New Friend?

Jolly's POV

As I flew across the sky, I manage to catch a glimpse of a small village before splashing into the water. Getting onto the shore, "Are you okay!?" I hear someone ask.

I turn around to see a young boy in a black cloak. He's almost as tall as Saph but with black hair and teal green eyes. He extends his hands to me.

"Y-yea." I say, my voice shaking from the cold water drenching my clothes.

"You're shivering. Come with me." He smiles.

I hesitate at first, but his smile convinces me to take his hand. It was big and warm.

Taking a closer look at my surroundings, I realize how beautiful this place is.

Green grass scattered all over the ground, butterflies surrounding the many color of flowers in the field and forests covered the land. There's a dock nearby on the calm blue lake, filled with people holding fishing poles waiting patiently. "Beautiful isn't it." I nodded. "Where am I?"

"You are in the Village of Barak." He announced.

"Wait a second, are you a player as well? Along with all those people?" I ask pointing my fingers towards the people fishing on the dock.

"Yes, but they are not wizards. They're just normal citizens that are traped in this world. I see that you are a wizard too. What's your magic?" I reach out my hand and produce a small strike of lightning in my palm.

"Lightning magic huh? Mine's Earth magic, watch." He grins and smashes his right hand onto the ground.

The area around where he punched shook uncontrollably, leaving a huge hole in the process. "You stupid brat! Watch where you are punching. You're scaring all the fish away!" Someone, I guessed it's from the dock, shouted. He ignores them, "I'm Kaleb, and you?"

"Jolly."

"Alright Jolly, lets go into the village. By the looks of it you don't have a place to stay, so I'll try and find you an inn, nice clothes by the way." He suggests, looking at my clothes. I looked down to find myself in a green flower dress, with a leather belt around my waist and boot like sandals.

'When did I change again!'

"You look good in it, anyway, let's go?" I turned away and blush. It's abnormal for me to be around boys, especially strangers, but somehow I feel comfortable around this guy named Kaleb. The only boy I have been comfortable around with all my life is Saph.

Speaking of Saph, I hope he doesn't beat Kaleb up for helping me. Just the thought of that makes me shiver.

"You okay?" He asks. I nod and shrug. "Expect for my wet dress. Kaleb do you know a place where I can buy some clothes?"

"Yea, but it's really far away. You will get sick by the time we reach there. Here, you can wear my cloak for now." He says and takes off the cape like clothing and wraps it around me. Heat covers my face and my body immediately, so I grab onto it tighter. "Th-thanks."

Walking down the streets full of people and glowing lanterns, I cant't describe how amazing this place is. Kaleb and I stop at a bar/inn.

"Okay, this is the last one, if the rooms are still all filled up...." He looks away as if too embarrassed to finish the sentence "You are welcome to stay with me."

I nod and walk in as fast as I can. I don't know if he saw it or not, but I can tell that my face is completely red.

"Welcome to Bora's Bar, what can I do for you?" Someone asks.

"Hi I would like to find a place to stay in here." I greet her and saw her name tag. It has the name Ava written across it in cursive letters.

"Ah okay, let me check." She says and goes behind the counter.

"Do they have one?" Kaleb asks, sitting next to me with a drink. It's a teal colored drink with bubbles in them. "She's checking and what's that drink you got? It looks weird." I ask, gesturing my finger towards the cup in his hand.

"It's Sweet Ale. It's what this town is famous for." He says taking another sip. "What some?"

He seems to enjoy this weird substance. "Sure, I guess."

Taking the cup from his extending hand I took a small sip. It taste like sweet aloe juice that I like to drink at home, but sweeter.

He looks at me with a questioning look. "How was it?"

"This thing tastes really good." I gasp.

"You bet!"

We laugh and joke until Ava comes back out. "You're in luck, this is our last room." She says holding out the keys. I look at it.

Room number 69. 'Seriously. I hate that number'

"Thanks."

"No problem, have fun on your stay."

I walk down the hallway with Kaleb following behind me. When I get to my room I was shocked to find a big 69 was printed on the door.

"Bahahahaha thay have to put it that big?!" He laughs. I don't want to admit that I am dying of laughter inside, so I roll my eyes and unlock the door.

Despite the big annoying room number on the door, this place is pretty nice for one person.

There's a living room connected to a small kitchen, too bad there's no TV. The bedroom is in the corner along with a small bathroom. There's windows, which is a great thing. I remember last time when Grace invited us on a trip she got us a motel with literally no windows, so I ended up seeing white all day long.

"This place is pretty good." Kaleb says, sitting down on the couch and staring out the window, before turning his head back to me. "It's getting late, you should rest." He says and starts walking towards the door. Thinking I would be all alone again after he left, "You can stay if you want, it's getting really dark out." I offer.

"Silly my room is right next door, see?" He laughs and swings his keys back and forth. My eyes widen as I read the number.

Room 68.

"O-okay, thank you for today see you tomorrow."

"Yea, if you need anything just knock on my door." I let out a breath as he walks out, and I place a hand over my chest, listening to my beating heart.

After a quick shower, everything went quiet as I went to sleep, hoping to set out and get some supplies, early next morning.

*****

The morning was hectic. I woke up, finding myself on the floor of the inn. "Is the floor really that comfortable?" I hear someone ask.

I quickly jump up to my feet, banging my head on the bedside table in the process.

"Who's there!" I asked, rubbing my head with one hand and creating a fist of lightning in the other.

"Ay! Ay! Chill out! You don't want to burn the inn down. It's not cheap to replace this place." He says coming out from the dark.

Seeing it's only Kaleb, I relax and tense up again. "How did you get in here?"

"You left the door unlocked, thank god it's only me." He says pointing towards the door, that is half opened.

Realization hit me. I was so tired yesterday that I forgot to lock it. "Anyway, we need to get some supplies." I nod, wait We? "What do you mean by we?"

"I'm coming with you, this town is boring."

"But.. I need to find my friends."

"So? I will help, plus I can protect you anyway. There's many killers in this world." Hearing the word killer, the warning sign pops back into my mind. "Okay fine let's go."

*****

After getting ready, which only took a few seconds since I don't have any clothes to change, Kaleb and I walk into the market. It's not what I was expecting to see. Apparently, the market is just tents lined up on each side of a long walk way, and only a few actual houses, selling different things. It's really old style to me. I don't have any money so Caleb is doing all the buying, and I calculate what we need for the trip.

We talked and got to understand each other more. Seeing a clothes shop in the distance, "Lets go over there, I need something other than this thing." I say pulling down on my wrinkled clothes. He nods and started walking behind me.

Jumping and skipping on the cobblestone side walk, I bump into someone square on the chest, it was flat so i think it's a man. "I am so..."

"Finally found ya!" Wait that voice. I slowly rises my head up, and gulp. Purple hair. Amber eyes. "Sorry!" I squeal, barely completing my sentence.
